I have learnt lot of things regarding maintaining my Gixxer from this page.. on November 25th bought a new Gixxer, I never had a bike before of my own.. now it is 7100+ on odometer.. did 3 servicing..

I generally ride for about 25 km per day.. I also took it out for short tour for about 150km+ on 18-19 occasions.. mileage is 45+ in city& suburbs; 55+ in highway (@65kmph-70kmph).. satisfied enough..

For about 3-4 months I was the sole owner of suzuki gixxer in my town, and i enjoyed a lot.. when I took I out for a ride i love to see people looking at this bike, and some people asking about my bike.. sometimes I here people uttering "Look at that Gixxer..." One day even an 3yrs old lad was asking his father " whats d name bike papa?..." thus proving that the bike has some unique appeal.. i liked.. Now I have seen few Gixxer in my town.. lot of people in our town are not opting for this bike because of Service Centre unavailability.

Ride quality is good, comfortable.. At first i felt that the seat was a bit stiff, but then i put some extra cushion of 1/2 inch thick.. Pillion riders generally don't feel comfortable and that is very uncomfortable female riders with attire like sari.. I generally do not feel fatigue after a long ride.. Once I reached top speed of 103kmph, I never felt this bike going out of my control..

Few days back i was having some problem with the "racer" where ball bearing and socket had rusted for which my handle bar is not responding well and there were vibration in the handle bar in bumpy roads, speed breakers.. Now the balls were change, the socket is fully greased, bike is fit..

I had a issue still not solved.. form about last 3 months whenever I cross speed breakers even in reasonable speed or I immediately after crossing some big bumps My gixxy behaves like short of fuel supply for few seconds then again comes to normal.. Is that okey or not ?? whats may be the problem !!!??

few days back i have installed a small side box too.. i need that badly mostly for my accessories like gloves, raincoat etc..

No other issues.. Overall I am happy with my Gixxer...

NB: I did some stickering myself on the helmet and body of the bike.. hope, not looking odd !!
bro can you post a pic ?!my handle bar is now making tak tak-tak-tak sounds on bumps and i started feeling the road vibrations and my SVC guy changed the righ shock bolt and tried to loose the handle bit and now completly ruined the setting ..tak tak sound is irritatin and i cant figure out perfectly where it is coming from

However, I did some calculations and I suppose a fully charged battery would die if the headlamp(60 watts) is to be switched on for ~30-35 mins without the engine running.

Steering bearing / cone set has been fiddled with (big nut near key insert). Get it tightened to the correct torque or over a period of time, handling of bike will go bonkers.
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

            Hello everyone,

I have been riding a friends gixxer for some days and found a new problem today, when i use the Kick to start the bike it goes all the way down easily but it doesn't come back to its original position it gets locked up with the rear brake pedal. The mechanic tightened the rear brake setting nut, but that did not solve the problem. Any of you faced a similar problem or have a solution for this?
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

              Hi everyone,
I am Rahul from Chennai, I bought new Gixxer(Black), its been nearly a month. The bike is really awesome, no major problems with it but i have some common problems as some said in previous threads such as headlights etc,....26/7(Sunday) is my 1st service due date, I have some queries. 1.)How much will it cost for 1st service(approximately), 2.)For many, some new problems arise after 1st or 2nd service like handlebar problem etc..what should I do to avoid these kind of problems?...And,
I am just 18, this is my 1st gear bike, my experience on riding gear bikes is bit less so give me some tips for better biking, especially with Gixxer!!

I am from kolkata. I just wanted to share one experience of mine which I have experienced with suzuki dealer here in kolkata. I have purchased Suzuki Gixxer on 21.07.15. I have paid the amount in three ways Rs. 50,000/- by chq, Rs. 22500/- cash(Given by me) & Rs. 18500/- (Given by broker who has purchased my old Pulsar 200) So it is all total Rs. 91,000. Which includes only Leg guard as optional accessories. They have provided buzzer for indicator which I do not have any requirement and I do not like sound in indicator. But yesterday I was shocked when found maximum on road price of Gixxer in West Bengal is 86,994/- So Dealer have charged almost Rs. 3306/- more. They provided money receipt for 78000. I know it was my mistake I should take receipt for full Rs. 91,000/-.

                Hi frndz,
Please share if any one is having similar experience? I have contacted Suzuki. they responded well but it makes dealer unhappy. They called me and tell me that this is RTO broker's charge. Is it so? .

Finally I have to take service from them, Do not know what to do? I am sure that they will generate problems at the time of servicing as no dealer service bikes in front of owner.

Tomorrow I have to visit dealer showroom for this discussion.

Later, post if they had given you proper break up of all the accessories too in the statement of account or invoice.

One should ask them for the breakup.
