Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
It is Oil condensation. It has happened with mine also when the variations in day temperatures are high(winters and rains). I had already posted the similar picture here and I got no responses(may be no one observed it or no ones got this problem). I went to the service center and they also had no clue. When I rode the bike for 10 minutes this condensation thing disappears. And finally I let go of this because I never observed condensation in summer(it is still summer in my palce).Originally posted by Jagzxbhp View PostWhat is this?? Bubble , my bike was stored for 6months appox after buying , couldn't ride it.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
After reading most of the comments in this thread and comparing Gixxer with other bikes (like FZ, AS150 & Unicorn 160) i made up my mind to go and get this bike. However, when I took the bike for test drive i purposely went over a speed breaker which was a small breaker compared to other speed breakers in mumbai, the bikes main stand hit the breaker. The ground clearance of this bike is really really low and now I am in confusion again. There are like 5-10 speed breakers in about 10kms from my house to my office, other potholes and bumps extra. Will this really affect the bike? Or shud i ignore this fact and just go ahead and buy this bike?
Please dont mind if i have missed this topic as i didnt go through all the pages in this thread.
Thanks.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Every bike will touch the breaker if you ride over it with speed. Slow down well before the bumper and go over it with positive acceleration.Originally posted by rookievg7 View PostAfter reading most of the comments in this thread and comparing Gixxer with other bikes (like FZ, AS150 & Unicorn 160) i made up my mind to go and get this bike. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi,
I Purchased my bike on Jan 24 2015 and its nearly 6months now and crossed 4800 kms
Im riding daily 30 kms to my office
I have and i am still riding other bikes like apache , pulsar , honda unicorn , yamaha Fz
Gear shifting is hard and sometimes not even proper especially between 2-3-4th gear and 4-5 is smooth
I usually apply full clutch as said by service man and due to applying full clutch my clutch has become loosen and i need to take it to service station to tight it.
When i took this issue to service people they said this is common in gixxer and many complaints are noted and when they enquired with the japanese techs who visited chennai showrooms ( they said the bike is built in such a way of locking gears hardly inorder to make the gear lock correctly)
I asked is gixxer anyway special in gear system to yamaha fz, they said no and i asked then why is yamaha giving their customers such a pleasure in shifting gear with nice clutch and such a smoothness and why are you making it an issue rather.
only silence is the answer and they said it will solve as time goes but i said its already months from purchase and still this is an issue.
Self start button is not smooth its becoming worst day by day
Do you people have any solution for this hard gear shifting issue !!!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I do not have this issue with my gixxer but I faced hard-gear-shifting-issue with my earlier suzuki motorcycle. Downshifting in the lower gears was very hard, sometimes while shifting up (again on the lower gears). I faced the issue thrice and each time different parts of the engine were replacedOriginally posted by Tiki saB View PostGear shifting is hard and sometimes not even proper especially between 2-3-4th gear and 4-5 is smooth

..
1. They didnt address the issue hence I complained to suzuki (via their website) and immediately I was showered with good attitude at service centre. They checked my bike for a day or so and sorry I dont remember this one exactly (I dont have the bills with me) but it was an issue with gear transmission system and it was fixed under warranty.
2. This time Sprocket worn out and replaced.
3. Clutch release bearing and clutch pressure disc were replaced.
Well many suggest 'it will go off with time and more km' and think people looking for a solution are creating a fuss and starting a useless discussion or blame it on your break-in period riding
.. May be they are right .. But better try getting this checked with a different service centre in your area OR raise a complaint in suzuki website about your dealer not resolving the issue since you have already waited for long..
Many GS150r and gixxer owners talk about gear shifting in suzuki not as problem-free as yamaha/Bajaj for example.. I have experienced this too.. Gear shifting is a core function of a motorcycle and if this is prone to damage easily and many customers complaining about it then there is something definitely wrong with the design may be.. Hope suzuki engineers look into it..Last edited by blitzz577; 07-20-2015, 02:48 AM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Kms don't matter for hard shifts. Couple of reasons for hard gear shifts areOriginally posted by Tiki saB View PostDo you people have any solution for this hard gear shifting issue !!!
1. Wrong clutch free play setting.
2. Incorrect drive chain slackness.
3. Non lubed drive chain.
4. Engine oil needs replacement.
5. Engine didn't warm up to its required running temperature.
If all this doesn't work, I do remember someone, in the first few pages of this thread, mentioned replacement of something in the gearbox to smoothen out the gear shifts. It was done under warranty iirc.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
For those who are getting a knocking sound from the chain or front sprocket, as I was facing the same issue, hence sharing the solution.
Took the bike to a local mech. He cleaned the chain and opened the front sprocket case and cleaned it too. Then he lubed the chain and the front sprocket with gear oil. He poured some oil into the sprocket axle. And now, the sound is totally gone.
Hope it helps. The sense of freedom these two wheels give can never be matched by anything else...

Chain clanking has nothing to do with rear-axle, no? If it did, something else is really off.Originally posted by Avinash666 View PostFor those who are getting a knocking sound from the chain or front sprocket, as I was facing the same issue, hence sharing the solution.

Apply thin coat of grease(Li-based or better) to rear axle not gear oil; oil will have adverse effects on drum brakes in case of spillage.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sorry bro, I meant the front sprocket axle, not the rear one.Originally posted by Freak inExile View PostChain clanking has nothing to do with rear-axle, no? If it did, something else is really off.

May be I'm wrong, but it worked for me.The sense of freedom these two wheels give can never be matched by anything else...
