There are a lot of people here bro
They are like those pedestrians if you ask them for directions they will show you where the nearest police officer is at and to go to them and ask. rather than telling you the address in the first place
or just saying that they wont know.
They just won't state that they didn't know something
Like "i dont know this man but you can find it here"
They will just point fingers to other threads or will find mistakes in your post
But there is a line called "i dont know" sad they don't know it
All they know "i wont tell you because your in the wrong place"

Someone mentioned replacing the brake pad with a soft brake pad will improve the braking.

Can anyone confirm if anyone has done this? Cant find a mention of this in the pages.

Also approx cost/place in Bangalore if there is a yes to above question.

      What is your odo reading?
I've had rear brake issues at the beginning as well. And now after 6k kms, I almost forgot it. Maybe it got better or I got used to it. Didn't have any braking issues so far.

      Cheers !

If you are pointing at me, then I ask you to go through all my posts just to find that I have stated your most wanted 'I don't know' when I didn't know anything and also given my 'explanation in detail' whenever it was needed.

Pedestrians will be fine to be guided but after they repeatedly come over to the same place knowing that something that is available elsewhere is also available here. But, this place is not to be crowded and then you have police (mods) coming up by themselves from the police station(which apparently anyone didn't point to) just to clean up all the queries they have left behind. And yes, if you were disappointed earlier, this isn't the place to rant. I am not a moderator and I know it. But I have all the rights to say that too. SF thread will mostly be idle. Because there are very few owners in the country and much lesser in this forum. They don't frequently visit the thread too. But think why sf was moved to a separate thread? Because all this would stay there and this thread won't be crowded and subsequently won't be followed by rants like yours. In that case, it would become an habit for people having queries about sf to post here and increase the length unnecessarily. You know what happens when the thread length increases? The ever so active and powerful search tool will become more powerful(pun intended) when someone wants to go back through pages and get to know some information. Just scroll few pages back and you will know how many have asked the same question about 'which oil to use' when they have failed or never used search button or felt lazy to use it.

When you point out anything or feel disappointed just think how helpful you were and how much you have contributed to demand outright obligations. And for heaven's sake this is internet. Please don't make anything personal which many of us tend to do in the beginning. Also don't come here being sensitive and expecting things to be done in your favor. Your ego can also be satisfied elsewhere.

And coming back to the query, I am really sorry that you couldn't get someone to answer your problem in your bike's thread. This issue is not rare here and people have always complained about the rear drum brake. Replacing the rear drums with soft pads will not completely solve the problem. Check for other possibilities too. Check if the lever and brake tension are fine and always start braking at a safe distance. Soft brakes will wear off quickly and no one can guarantee you how it will bite or be grippy enough in the long run. I think your bike must be relatively new. If so, give it some time, atleast until run in or first service and check how they perform. This is because your brake pads need time to finish it's run in period but it is usually upto 200km or so. It depends on usage and your riding style and you haven't mentioned anything about those. So don't worry. Forgot to add previously, always warm up the engine, tyres and brakes by riding in empty streets before actually starting your ride in the main roads.

And please make sure that you don't ride fast and brake late.

All i can say for your poor performance of rear brake in Gixxer SF is to remove the brake shoes & rub it with sand paper, clean the dust in the drum also lube the spring which is connected to the brake pedal. There are variety of brake shoes avbl in the market. Just go & enquire in the shops. I think it should costs less than 200 bucks. Try something new & this will help others.

And to the brake issue i think posting here was justified because as we know they share the same internals
And can't overturn your fact and statement either that it is getting longer than the the great wall of China
But all of us come here to share our thoughts and get our answers right?
Maybe its getting large no second thoughts but its its size which is drawing attention from the sf s forum too
Because of this simple fact that they naked gixxer and sf shares identical internals

There were always people who replied to queries the second time.

Cut to the chase, he asked once. He explained it for the second time. I would have just given him the suggestion I was about to give. Someone else would have given it too. Or you could very much have. The idea is simple, no rants here and just post to the point. Bikes and related information/news in the respective threads. And no more justifications.

                Goodbye with all that.

                Cheers.

So when i saw that there is that go to that place again i decided maybe its time to speak

So next time, instead of thinking up a complex metaphor, Use the search function instead and you'll probably find a post about it.

This is Syam. This is my First post in xBHP. I got my Gixx last month and till now has clocked 1500 km on the Odo. Its has been raining cats and dogs in kerala since i took my bike. I got a bike cover for him but is least satisfied with it and would like to welcome suggestions regarding the best motorcycle covers in the price band 250-750.

                      Thanks and Regards

Honestly, no. Note that you may have to service the motorcycle regularly to avail any warranty. I presume wear-tear is not covered in warranty. So, along with 750/- you'll be paying SVCs for mandatory* services.

                        * I'm assuming regular services will become mandatory during extended warranty period.

I got my Gixx 2 months back and covered some 1600 KM. I did my first service some at 850 KM.

I got an issue with my head lamps yesterday. The moment i switched the headlamps on the dim light worked for a moment then stopped working. I then changed that to bright and it is working all fine. Can anyone tell me what could be the problem and how to resolve it. Are the headlamps and electricals covered under warranty.

                            Kindly help

I've posted this earlier - The error is 6kmph which is constant at all speeds. This is same with my Old Unicorn as well. And the device I tested is Moto G which has GPS(not A-GPS) and Glonass support, which worked better than an old Garmin device which took time to lock the GPS.

No, The electrical components are not covered under warranty as it could have happened due to a number of environmental factors.
The low beam and high beam bulbs are integrated into one. Hence you have to replace which might set you back by Rs.700 .

However if it was a problem with the harness you could get a free replacement.

So those having having issues with this Tyre should upgrade to MRF Zaper Q 140/70-17 as its bit harder than the rev z .
On what basis are you saying that soft compound tyres has poor performance on bad roads?

Soft compound tyres are always better than hard compound tyres. They give the maximum road grip under dry weather conditions when compared to hard compound tyres and any type of road condition.
Hard compound tyres are only meant to last longer than soft compound tyres.

So, as the hardness of the tyre increases the grip decreases.

Under wet conditions the soft compound tyres have better grip than hard compound tyres. However, The tread pattern which enables it to remove water from underneath is another major factor.
