    1. after i got my first servicing done at around 800 km i took the bike for a long trip to chhatisgarh. I live near Ranchi. I drove straight 630km to reach raipur from ranchi in one go (took a longer route), started at 6 am and reached raipur around 8pm. No complaints, bike performed above my expectations. no heating problem, seats were ultra comfortable though a got a different seat cover very comfortable and suitable for long rides during hot season. In raipur I made several trip to nearby areas and then got my second servicing done there. The service centre i found there was far more better than the ranchi one. i stayed in raipur for 15 days and during that time i drove around 3000km. after every thousand km i used to go to service centre and they would clean and lube my bike immediately without any charge. i was charged only for the third service which was around 400.

    2. the heart break: it happened that the day i got my bike serviced and was coming back i took tea break in a line hotel. and suddenly i vehicle rammed into my parked bike. the impact was so huge that the handle bar got bent, the frame holding the headlight was bent and brake pad was also affected. somehow i started my bike and returned to the service centre. They immediately looked into it, spent 5 hours and corrected everything. handlebar and headlight frame was changed. total cost incurred was 1100 rs. but the bike was almost in the new condition. againafter few days i returned back to ranchi and bike performed equally well in my return journey.

the roads for my journey were both from excellent to no road at all. no punctures and bike just went on and on. no problem with back ache or ne other physical harrassment. although after driving 600kms my thumbs went numb for a while. other than that i felt no pain to drive it for longer durations. excellnt shockers. total journey length 4400kms

after coming back i drove around 1500 km more.

    what i loved:

    a. very good power specially in the mid range. bikes goes to 90 in no time.no problem in overtaking even the fastest cars.

    b. no engine vibrations till 90-95. then you will feel a little bit of vibrations. but even on the top speed (i got 118kmph) the vibrations are very much manageable and you will have good control over the bike. but its an absolute pleasure to ride the bike in between 70-95 kmph. 75 has become my new 60.

    c. handling: just superb. bike is so responsive to your cutting edge bike riding skills and its very light so you can easily flick it. i tried to tilt the bike while riding and my left leg on the gear touched the ground on a curvy road (my leg ws lil bit lower too). but i wont suggest that it will always happen as it depends on many factors like how curvy is the road, your speed etc etc. so dont take it for granted that you will not fall down while tilting your bike that much. I just wanted to test while wearing all the riding gears like gloves etc. i was prepared for a fall. In cities the control is very smooth and you can surpass the traffic in no time. wide handle bar adds to the handling comfort.

    d. comfortable seats, get a cushion wala seat cover, it will add to your seat comfort. i posted pictures few months back of that seat cover.

    e. mileage is good though i have not measured it exactly but roughly it gives around 45-50. again the error margin can be huge so i cant really say in this department as mileage dsnt matter much to me.

    f. servicing cost as well as parts are very cheap. handlebar cost only 380 rs.

    g. the bike is designed as such that even in accidents there would be very less scratches on the body. for my accident there were no scratches at all. i was actually surprised.

    h. engine sound i just love it

    i. stability of the bike is very high. at 115-118kmph there is lot of air blast but it would not make the bike much unstable. just hold the handlebar a little tight. and yes beware of the trucks coming from the opposite direction, they create a big air blast. just be careful. i drove at 115kmpoh for around 1 hour (roads in orissa are really good )

    things i dont like much:

    a. ground clearance: it seems it is very low. i was suggested that change the shocker setting to 4th level from default 3rd one. but after a while when schockers are a bit used, on double ride (obviously a bit heavy rider) the bike hits the bumper. though it wont harm much.

    b. for past few days the mileage has reduced much. i think it is because servicing date is near. but i will get it checked.

    c. top speed should have been more somewhere around 130. on good roads with no traffic you would be able to control the bike so well that even 110+ speed seems to be lower.

    d. sometimes the bike behaves rough. at times when you will drive at higher speed and then come back to driving at 60kmph, the sound of engine changes. but then it will come back to normal after some time.

    e. pillion seat comfort is not good. its good for short trips (about 100-200km) but for longer trips (>400km), like i drove, seat comfort creates an issue.

    f. headlights: they are not for highway driving at all. get HID lights.no problem with battery or the warranty. very nice ones. at night i was able to drive at 95kmph on highways. those who dont want to invest on lights can put the dipper switch in between up and low. this will illuminate both the bulbs and visibility will increase. though its written in the manual to not to do this but go ahead neways. i drove like this for initial few days (upto 1000km)

    g. horn: its pathetic. its like hulk crying like a baby on highways no one would notice the horn. you have to slow down for people trying to cross the road. though i have not changed the stock horns but i want to.

    how I pamper my bike:

    1. i use motul chain cleaner and lube. they are very good and will make your bike smooth.
    2. i usually wash it once a month and use pidilite polish. gives a nice shine.
    3. do remember to clean the schocker, though there is no problem even if mud gets stuck there (as told by mechanic) but still why to take chance.

i enjoy riding this bike. fun to put much accelerator and feel the bike going whaa whaaaa

i would suggest to use motul 10w40 engine oil made for suzuki. its the oil for this bike and service centre guys would give you this only. in case they are giving any other oil insist for this as they have been instructed by suzuki to use this oil (as told by mechanic in raipur)

always check the air pressure, 29psi in front, 33psi in rear. thats just perfect. if you willput more, you may skid.

also regarding braking it has got good front brake but never use it alone. on straight roads with no turning front brake only will not create much trouble but even if your handle bar is slightly left or right front tires will skid for sure. just use both the brakes together.it will reduce the chances of skidding.

I would not say that this is the best bike in the market, i think pulsar ns200 is better but i would definitely suggest you to buy this one. you will love the ride. and its lighter than ns200 which makes it easier to handle.

happy riding..develop a relation with your gixxer.

Couldn't agree with you more...........This is exactly what I felt with Gixxer. Spot on analysis.

      seats were ultra comfortable
I don't find the seat very comfortable; may be my basement construction is different.

      d. comfortable seats, get a cushion wala seat cover, it will add to your seat comfort.
I added cushion and yes the comfort level increased but only a little.

      c. top speed should have been more somewhere around 130. on good roads with no traffic you would be able to control the bike so well that even 110+ speed seems to be lower.
This is the only thing that sometimes reminds me - 200NS, but I calm myself with "refinement factor" and handling. Also with wind blasts 110+ speeds takes the fun in riding away in naked bikes.

those who dont want to invest on lights can put the dipper switch in between up and low. this will illuminate both the bulbs and visibility will increase.
this makes both filaments glow at the same time and the bulb may fuse because of the high temperatures. 55/60 would be a simple and hassle-free upgrade.

i would suggest to use motul 10w40 engine oil made for suzuki.
I have tried lots of oils(5w40, 10w30, 15w40, 10w50) and yes 10w40 is the most suitable grade. No further need for any Gixxer owner to test different grades.

Was really interested in your bike's behaviour on the highway bits. Iam planning a long highway ride next moth, that's why[emoji3] really great to hear that you could actually cruise at 90...really really great.

Just wanted to ask you, after my 2nd service, the bike tends to vibe a bit, which I feel on the footpegs, especially riding on powerband curve where it surges ahead, 50-65.. Is this ok. Also, iam not really sure because I haven't felt for it, but once past 75 I think it disappears, again it could be vibing, but the bike surges ahead so beautifully and the SOUND, that I forget about that annoyance[emoji23]

        [emoji111]

i would say go for highway cruising. its an absolute pleasure. regarding vibrations i did feel something funny with this bike. for ex if you are driving on 4th gear and speed is 45 you will feel a little vibration but between 50-55 vibrations stop suddenly. i guess a little vibration is okay. you can do a simple check. if you feel that your mobile is vibrating while driving the bike and actually it is not then you bike is vibrating more than required
i know it sounds stupid but its effective

        hi
seat pics i will post.. i found them comfortable..only issue is it is dirt accumulator and does not gets dry easily. so a strict no during monsoon.

regarding headlight fuse wala thing did not happen with me bt it may happen not denying that fact. nevertheless road safety was my prime importance so i did that

              Heya,

I faced the same problem with my bike, I used to get a vibe in between 4.5k RPM to 5k RPM in any gear. Same vibration as you described. I talked with Svc guy regarding this and he tuned carburetor and that vibe decreased a lot than before. Also mileage increased from 50 to 57 kmpl Cheers

Give bike some time. Once you are past 4-5k kms bike will always be smooth. this happened with me too. But now bike is always smooth. Though i have one little problem. Gear shift is not very smooth.sometimes more than required pressure is needed to change the gear. have not shown to the mechanic yet. will do in the next service.

Hey buddy, I too faced similar issue. First of all be sure that you have not kept anything beneath your seat.
In my case this created issue.

Next thing is do go for a long ride on your gixxy, it will rouse bike properly.

In my case I driven 200 kms after my first service and then my bike's engine became more powerful and aggressive

During the service the mechanic put some oil on the gear lever connectors(Don't know what to call that) and since then I never faced issue with hard shifts.
I don't know if that helped or the actual servicing of the bike helped.. So you try that and see if it can help. I know there is no logic here, but give it a try.

My daily travel distance to office is 71kms still the oil is performing good even after 1k kms.

One thing iam not liking in the gixxer is some times the bike behaves in a smooth manner but some times it behaves in a rough way why is it happening?
Last week the mechanic adjusted the co levels of the bike at the svc but still i couldnt get the initial days smoothness
                          Yes!!
Iam starting to wonder the same thing!![emoji20]

                            Quick update.
Took it to the SVC today asking to tune the carb.
He tested it a bit..removed the carb cleaned and spent 10 mins tuning it.
Bike is now back to almost original smoothness. Idles and runs real smooth.

Iam guessing whoever last serviced the bike didnt have a clue what he was doing[emoji23]

Have you accelerated the bike to 6k rpm after tuning ? Also let me know the mileage figures after tuning. Can u share some pics of your carb (click pics from gear lever side).
                              Just follow my shadow.

Yes. First thing I did was hit 95. Crossed 6k rpm. Overall bike is more responsive now. But all said and done, that initial period of pre-1st service level of smoothness isn't there. Almost there, but almost isn't the same.
