Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
In the initial I had a good braking experience with gixxer may be till first 1k kms but now I feel the difference not that big but marginally. But in your case its vice versa. In any new bike u'll get good braking. May be for your satisfaction visit scv to clean & rub the brake shoes. So far I drove 1.8k kms.Originally posted by Habshan View PostLast edited by Dynamo; 04-04-2015, 05:38 PM.Just follow my shadow.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
There is nothing like breaking in for drum brakes ,in fact the newer the better they perform.
Gixxer rear brake is really of very low braking power ,Im used to rear disc brake while riding slow, but unfortunately didn't knew about gixxer strength of rear brake ,made a tiny scratch on friend's bike while applying rear only at 20-25 speeds ,ramming into auto

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
The Suzuki Gixxer SF will be offered in a special MotoGP edition which would sport some visual changes to the bike. It will be launched on 7th April 2015.

Suzuki will offer MotoGP special edition for the Gixxer SF from the start
A few days ago, we had leaked the brochure of the upcoming Suzuki Gixxer SF (Introducing Level:Pro) which is a full faired bike based on the Gixxer. Now, we have managed to get clear images of the brochure which helps us see the specifications clearly. One interesting aspect seen is that the bike will be offered in a special paint scheme from the word go and is likely to be priced above the normal variants. Suzuki wants to cash in on the popularity of MotoGP and grab the attention of enthusiasts.
While the Gixxer SF remains almost identical to the Gixxer on which it is based, it weighs 4 kgs more than it which is due to the addition of the fairing, However, the weight increase seems negligible considering the Pulsar RS 200 weighs 20 kgs more than the Pulsar 200 NS on which it is based on! This would ensure minimal difference in terms of performance and the top speed might be higher due to the addition of an aerodynamic fairing. The bike sports some interesting elements such as LED tail lamps, adjustable rear mono-shock suspension and an exhaust which looks really different.
Power comes from the same 154.9cc, single-cylinder engine which generates 14.8 PS and 14 Nm, matched to a 5-speed gearbox. Performance should be identical to the street-fighter version and the sharing of parts and mechanicals will help Suzuki price the Gixxer SF more aggressively, expect an on-road price of under a lakh.
The Suzuki Gixxer SF will be the most affordable full-faired bike in India which gives it a huge advantage over its nearest competitor, the Yamaha R15 (no direct competition though). In a country where people love faired bikes and appreciate affordable machines, the Gixxer SF stands at an advantageous position. The motorcycle would be offered in three regular colours which are – Blue, White and Black, there are rim stripes too. The MotoGP edition is based on the Blue coloured bike and gets a few visual changes including Suzuki stickers on either side which runs under the tank. It will not get any mechanical changes to suit its name though.

The Gixxer SF weighs just 4 kgs more than the regular Gixxer

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Yes. Definitely. Why you've doubt. Driving above 60+ will affect the mileage. There is a logic behind it. You r pushing the fuel more than normal into the cylinder, combustion happens very quickly & getting the result 100+ kmph. That's it.Originally posted by Ashwin Lakshmanan View Posthi guys
Does mileage drop significantly when you travel at high speeds? i was driving at 100-110 kmph for almost 2 hours the other day and my mileage dropped to < 30kmpl during this time...Just follow my shadow.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi Kypa,Originally posted by kypa View PostHi can any body give a clearer understanding on headlights. Have read through the earlier posts regarding changing of stock bulbs and have got confused. So went to google and understood there are halogen and Hid lights,Only understanding I got is Hid has xenon gas and a 35W Xenon bulb consumes less power than a 55W Halogen bulb.
Now please correct me whether our bike's stock bulb is halogen then can I shift to hid? If yes then I heard bulb type is H4.If so then will I get a direct fit of H4 35 w Hid bulb or I need some conversion kit?
By reading my earlier para one can make out I am actually confused
and yes I wanna change the bike's bulb to a safer and reasonable option. 55/60w was suggested before but I was told that its life is pretty short. Need a simple tutorial please
Our bikes have a stock halogen bulb of 35 watt(in Fz it has 35w) which proves insufficient for highway riding and night rides.
If you opt for an upgrade you can go for either
॥॥ 55 watt Phillips vision halogen
Cost approx rs550- direct fit
॥॥ a projector setup including a 35 or a 55 watt ( this depends on user requirements)
Requires a professional to install
The projector inside the headlight dome after carefully opening it using a heat gun.
Cost approx 5-6k depending on the quality of projectors ie in the above case in the mentioned amout you will get a aes projectors with ballast, hid.
Here in Kolkata we have DVJ AUTOTECH run by Debraj Bhaskar and RD MOTOVIL by Rohit Karmakar.
You can enquire with them further about the requirements and charges.
+a battery upgrade with ape rr unit will be better if you opt for higher wattage hids or bulbs
+ however a lot has been discussed over this in the hid/light section of this forum. You can take help from that as well.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
i know it drops but my question was more around how significant would the drop be. I usually get around 47 under normal driving conditions. I was expecting to get 35+ at high speeds but < 30 seems too less.Originally posted by Dynamo View PostYes. Definitely. Why you've doubt. Driving above 60+ will affect the mileage. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
There's drop in mileage as you gain/lose speed above and below eco range. At high speeds, the bikes are designed to run richer to aid cooling and prevent overheat and seizures. Add to it the low burning time during high RPMs and what you get is more power but low mileage. For best cruising experience, the max torque point of the Rev range..Originally posted by Ashwin Lakshmanan View Posthi guys

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
As you said 100+ kmph riding for more than 2 hrs. Yes u'll get sub 30 only. Occasionally reaching 100 kmph or just 10 mins its OK & getting 35 kmpl mileage. Continues riding 100+ kmph will result this mileage only.Originally posted by Ashwin Lakshmanan View Posti know it drops but my question was more around how significant would the drop be. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Are you sure this is not the screw in Gixxer? I distinctly remember the SVC guy adjusted this screw in the last service. I will test it myself today afternoon. It's damn hot outside nowOriginally posted by Dynamo View PostFriend the pic u attached is not I'm looking for. This is fuel drain screw. Click from opposite side ( great lever side ).
