The parts are not plastic you know. Also the run in rules are moderate guidelines so that the rider doesn't go nuts with the bike from day 1. There are various break in methods, and there is seriously no harm in stressing the engine in short bursts. In fact I feel its necessary for the long haul of the machine's life.
    @nilzkul
105 in the city??? Damn! Which city is that in? Lucky you[emoji17]
Rude safe bro! Only do it when you have a clear stretch.
Ahmedabad, SG highway route, ahmedabad people will know that :P

Its for the first 800 kms one should maintain below 4.5 k rpm.
+1 to Radikel's post. AFAIK, short busts to high RPM won't cause issues. And if you ask people here, to each one his own. If your bike performs well even now and returns the same mileage figures, why you need to worry!
P.S: If you're so skeptical about higher speeds causing issues, please try to control the wrist each time you ride

There is only one issue with your post!
New owners like myself have no control over our right wrist given a clean stretch with this baby[emoji23]
Well...at least for me its a losing battle...have to open the throttle once a day.

For safer side, try to control your throttle under 4.5k rpm :P
I crossed through this stage and I know that feeling

Visited the SVC two days back.Have completed 2000 kms on the odo.The mechanic has reset my rpm indicator to 5.5k saying its still a new motor and I should not stretch past 80 kms per hr till I do 5000 kms. I said I don't cross it always but he says just cause you have got the 1st service done doesn't mean you lose control on the throttle and blast on the road.I was told repeatedly not to cross 80. This is not encouraging actually.

Well same was told to me, my bike have completed 2800 kms and now soon time for 2nd service.
I drive normally between 40-64 kmph, sometimes it reaches 80kmph and above

                  Absolutely a wrong myth!

                  That's a good point, but....

I was told repeatedly not to cross 80.
This is still utter bull sh!t.
                  Replies in bold!

Irrespective of speed, keep tab on the RPM. Never over rev the vehicle in any gear. With 2k km done, doing 3000 RPM or 8000 RPM, is your choice!

Totally agree with you.I would definitely not want to over rev the bike. The only point I disagreed with him is he said I shouldn't cross 80 till I do 5000 kms.

                      That actually hurts 😂
We wait for our first service to cross 4.5k rpm and then svc guy speaks this 😰

What the hell u can easily touch max 6.5- 7k rpm all the time as your bike has completed 2k kms. Excercise the engine more frequently it does help in the good performance during the long runs. If you still drive in the low rpm range the engine will surely suffer from the drop in performance at higher rpms experienced the same in my 220fi.
Refer the manual for run in instructions & various rpm numbers at specific kms.

Raised the complaint regarding the paint peel off issue on the engine in the suzuki website the svc head called me & told me to come svc as soon as possible. To my surprise they changed the whole clutch case of my bike with the brand new bikes clutch case. Suzuki customer care center rocks far better than the bajaj.
Here is the pic of new clutch case.

After 4000 kms on my odo, now the bike feels much free. Gear shift, clutch have become smoother.
I once touched 121kmph. Had to crouch and redline at all gears. It felt as if it had some more thrust and could go upto 125. But I let go of the throttle.
The low rpm grunt somewhat seems to have reduced. The exaust note is now a bit flatter like in an apache. Very minute virations exit between 4k-6k rpm.
I really wish I could get that thumpy accelaration back
The sense of freedom these two wheels give can never be matched by anything else...
