Is that a typing error by any chance? My Gixxer does 63-65 kmph @ 4500 rpm. At 5500 rpm it does something around 77-78 kmph on the speedometer.

In a month's time, I am planning a 700 km round trip and have decided to keep the bike below 6000 rpm for the entire journey(should roughly be able to cruise at around 80-85 kmph). Expecting a mileage of 45 atleast. Will update you guys when I do it as to how it went.

65? Whoa!! That's a superb number. how do you measure the mileage? tank full method or reserve to reserve method? And yes, you are right, at 4.5K the bike cruises at 65 kmph.

Did you again mistake it as 65 kmpl mileage? :P

I meant @ 4500 rpm the speed at which the bike travels is between 63-65 kmph.

              Have a nice week!

I calculate tank full to reserve method and I used to get 53 kmpl until first service when I strictly kept the bike @ or below 4500 rpm.

After first service I started driving mostly between 4500 rpm to 5500 rpm. The mileage is now around 48 to 50 kmpl.

I feel the rear brake to be spongy and less bity. Does anybody feel the same way?

Only if Audiophile Grade Helmets existed.

Yes. Back break is totally spongy... Front is fine but not up to the mark

I was feeling few lows in bike after I complete 600-700kms n was hoping to get it resolved after first service which I av completed at 900km. But sadly I didn't find any diff before n after service.

Some of the major lows are:-
                      1. Smoothness degraded
                      2. Pickup degraded
                      3. Engine heat problem still persists

Anyone facing same issues n suggestions if any??

                        Hi Vijay,
These symptoms seem to be a direct co relation with the tuning of the carb to the leaner side.
This also explains the sluggish acceleration and a lack of smoothness from the engine side.

However if your mileage has been on the down side ie it is below 40km pl then it can be due to faulty worn out clutches.
Try changing clutch/ a better engine oil perhaps and ask the Suzuki mechs to tune the carb properly or clean/change air filter if required.
                        Steps -
1 clean/change air filter and tune the carb a bit on the richer side.

2 check clutch if it has worn out prematurely

3 use a different engine oil if possible

Either one of the above should act as a solution to the problem
                        Regards

My mileage is superb from starting around 55. Till now its not d point f concern n tuning a carb mi8 impact it. So better i shudnt do that. N I did servicing few days back so engine oil s what Suzuki has recommended (motul-10w40) n it's wat we get along wid new bike. So it shud not be matter f concern.

M confused wat cud b probable cause??
                          Hwz other gixxers performance??

Lean mixture gives good mileage but damages engine internals, reduce smoothness and overheats engine. So better check the carb at asc. If possible post a pic of spark plug tip, it will say what's current tuning is
