    1. They didnt address the issue hence I complained to suzuki (via their website) and immediately I was showered with good attitude at service centre. They checked my bike for a day or so and sorry I dont remember this one exactly (I dont have the bills with me) but it was an issue with gear transmission system and it was fixed under warranty.
    2. This time Sprocket worn out and replaced.
    3. Clutch release bearing and clutch pressure disc were replaced.

Well many suggest 'it will go off with time and more km' and think people looking for a solution are creating a fuss and starting a useless discussion or blame it on your break-in period riding .. May be they are right .. But better try getting this checked with a different service centre in your area OR raise a complaint in suzuki website about your dealer not resolving the issue since you have already waited for long..

Many GS150r and gixxer owners talk about gear shifting in suzuki not as problem-free as yamaha/Bajaj for example.. I have experienced this too.. Gear shifting is a core function of a motorcycle and if this is prone to damage easily and many customers complaining about it then there is something definitely wrong with the design may be.. Hope suzuki engineers look into it..
    Actually it's the opposite.
Since the Rx100, samurai, shogun days...Suzuki's have always had the best gear shifts.
Its very precise, and you get a reassuring click in every gear.
I actually prefer this, as it gets you very involved with the riding...whereas I've found the yamahas and bajaj very 'fliaty' which others confuse as smooth.

For people with new bikes, work a lot o. Quick upshifts/downshifts, and above all, learn to use engine braking...you will see how the bike totally transforms in character.

Not sure if it has enough juice for such a trip.

      Thanks all.
      Hey bro,
Been off the forum for a while.
May first week did a round trip ~1800 kms....and the bike performed superbly. No worries at all.
However, before any such extended trip...please change oil, check air pressure and any tyre ruptures.
Also, I would suggest you to wait for 5K kms to complete on odo and switch to semi-synthetuc/Full...
Extended trips on mineral can cause oil tearing..else rest the bike every 150Km or so.

Overall...long journeys on the gixxer..no problem.

For those having downshift issues...iam not going to comment on whether you are doing something wrong..I will however talk about my experience.

The gixxer clutch is definitely on the harder side, and you have to work it a bit..I found pressure level appropriate with two fingers. Sometimes if accelerating/braking hard...3 fingers. You have to actually pull the lever about 1/2 way to 3/4 for proper shifts. I refer it this way as iam totally involved with the riding.
As for the hard/thud parts, I have found it happens from 2nd to 1st for me, as gear lever throw is a bit long.(Also that character maybe helps in easy neutrals?)
Also, I have found proper application level of clutch means, just a light amount of pressure on the lever and it slots itself into place perfectly up/down.(Not denying that it's towards the harder side, but its a very precise gearbox).
If you find the clutch uncomfortable, take it to svc and ask them to adjust it to what level you want the clutch disengaged. Would suggest tighter and not looser..as it helps the health of the gearbox.
Try and understand and play around with the clutch and lever...and see what suits you.

Employ engine breaking a lot and see how the bike behaves on clutch, to find the right position.

Even then if its troubling, and you can't adjust it...take it to svc...and give them a detailed breakdown on how/why/where you are experiencing hard shifts.
This enables them to zero in easier on the issue, and help give you a solution to the matter at hand.

        Happy Riding!
        Cheers!

P.s- if you still continue to remain unhappy, then maybe this character of the bike really doesn't suit you or what you expect from a bike and should look towards changing it.
After all, every morning, as you walk up to the bike, you should feel joy at having to ride it, and not worry about the niggles overly. That's the essence.

P.p.s- sorry for the wall of text

Hey guys...its been close to 3 months and 3k kilometers. I did my first service at 800 km..and was told to get the second service done at another 1k km... Which I did... Later found out it shouldn't have been this early..as per manuals its around 3k...few questions guys... Since I did my second service at 1750 km...should I again get my bike serviced or wait for a thousand km... And then go for it... 2nd question.. My bike is running to rough... During last service the idle was set to 1.5k rpm... Later I did the settings few times since the bike was running too rough... The rpm rises...and comes down...once the engine is hot... It does not stays stable..gear shifts are very hard. Especially 3rd and 4th gears... Mileage is pathetic... 34 km/l... I did a full tank to reserve calculations... Initially when I start the bike for a ride... And try applying the brakes if needed there is chal chak sound from rear side.. Any suggestions please...

Gixxer going to face a lot of competition now as Honda has revealed the Hornet 160R though the engine has same output figures that of Unicorn 160 but it will have fuel injection along with braking from Nissin.

HIDs and LEDs that are good would need a projector and they cost a bomb. Good ones cost north of 6k. Don't waste money on Chinese ones. They only cause glare and don't illuminate the roads. Avoid white lamps. They suck in rains.
In 35w range, opt for osram silverstar and in 55w, you have osram nightbreaker series and Philips Xtreme vision series.
