Hello guys! My first post in this thread. Thought to share with you all. I used to have the Gixxer SF (Moto GP edition) which I sold in November.. Just wanted to share with you this tiny mod. If you have the Moto GP edition, try to have the rims full green colored, or according to me the best option would be half blue and half green. This will look a much sportier look and will even match the color.. Now you would be thinking why I'm saying to have the green color.. If you see carefully, the bike at some points has green color.. Try this mod if you like it.. Everyone had told me that after getting the bike's rim colored, the bike was looking better.

I've one mod of the headlight. Will post it later.

You can buy the bike from delhi. Only difference is that you will get a delhi registration number. It would be a lot cheaper (mono tone 86k and dual tone 87k)

Any problems in registration ?
I guess i have to get it serviced from the same service station to avail the warranty ?

No problems in the registration. You just have to submit the required amount to the showroom people. They will take care of it. And as far as the servicing and the warranty issue is concerned, i am afraid i dont know much. In my opinion, you have to get the bike serviced in an authorized suzuki service centre. Thats all that matters. It could be situated anywhere. You can call up the showroom and ask them about it if u like.

Brother, i thought that as this is my first bike, 155cc would be enough for me. But after 6 months, I was feeling that the power is less. So went for KTM

Planning to buy a bike this march yet to decide between gixxer and hornet.
Few questions:
1.which one will be a better bike for long run ?
2.which one has a superior built quality ?
3.which one is better in terms of performance?
4.is there any rusting or quality issues with the gixxer ?

New Gixxers comes with antirust coating., also suzuki responds to customer complaints better than others.

Honda is good but Suzuki still holds well.. Gixxer dual disc over Hornet anyday.. Hornet is a good bike too but the aggressive looks of Gixxer is just better.. Believe me i even got quoted by people saying "the Gixxer looks like a cheetah on prowl!"
Performance is almost same on both.. But the engine is way torqier on Gixxer

Hi, I have been largely a silent member of this forum. Me too from Chennai and currently looking to upgrade to a better/faster bike. Currently comtemplating between Suzuki Gixxer and Honda Unicorn 160. Although I am all for Gixxer, the Uni 160 would better suit my middle age and driving style. But don't like it for the product package that you get in return for the money paid. Plus the Honda folks gave me a waiting time of 2 months (!!) for Uni 160 due to the current demand for and sales of Hornet. I don't like Hornet for the price tag and the weight (140 kgs i think). Prefer a relatively light weight bike primarily due to my short height.

I got a on-road price quote of 88,800 from Maya Suzuki, Adyar. Is this correct/reasonable? Chennai folks, how is this dealer in terms of sales/service/reputation?
Now coming to my main query, I enquired with the sales guy from Maya about the rear-wheel disc option and he was saying that it is likely to be released only towards the end of this year in South India. That seems to be very late. Seems like a sales technique to push the current version of Gixxer. Any opinion guys? Thanks in advance.

By the way, never got a chance to test ride either Gixxer or Uni 160 due to limitations at the dealer showrooms on the day I visited them a few weeks back.
Should conclude by saying that this forum has been really useful to a person like me. Thanks a lot.

Completed 1 yr with my White Gixxer. Bought it on 17th Feb 2014. Covered 15k km exactly on 17th Feb 2016. Overall I'm happy with my bike.

Brother, I suggest you ask this in what bike section where many knowledgeable and experienced people can give valuable input in your decision making process. Asking the same in ownership threads may result in biased opinions.

Hey anyone converted gixxer into gixxer SF?? Limited showroom are converting for 12 to 15k , saw on motorbeam or something. If anyone did, showroom or outside plz tell.
