Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Got a chance to ride Rahul N's Gixxer for 140 Kms in mixed conditions like freeways, urban traffic and with a pillion.
Awesome handling & pickup. Best ever handling in the 150CC category.
All the enjoyment comes to an end with a pillion on board. Handlings take a toll.
Seat quality seems to be very poor and also pillion seat is poorly designed.
Any implementations done by Gixxer users for replacement of seat/foam ?2005 - Hercules MTB Thriller | 2018 - Apollo Evade

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
This is Achilles heel in Gixxers. I discussed with a local seat fitter, he says that he can only add 1 inch good quality foam on the whole seat making it dual density and hence improving the comfort quite a bit. He has done it on other bikes. I am too busy with my office work due to a project delivery so did not get time for this, will post pictures once i do it on my bike.Originally posted by BlackPanther View PostGot a chance to ride Rahul N's Gixxer for 140 Kms in mixed conditions like freeways, urban traffic and with a pillion.

Hey Guys,Originally posted by tutul278 View PostHello Bikers,
Can anyone suggest me a respite from the front wheel mud splash? The mud guard on the front wheel hardly does anything it is meant for.
For example : Anyone tried a mudguard (With long lower reach) form other bike manufacturers fitting a naked Gixxer?
Note : Even though effective, i dislike to hang a cheap rubber sheet with my leg guards, looks like a disgrace to the bike's style.
Anybody has a better solution to this other than hanging the rubber sheets???

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hello guys! I got my bike last saturday(19-03-2016) and am about 100 km on the odo. I've been facing an issue. Whenever I come to a halt with my bike on second gear(of course, with the clutch fully pulled in), my bike stalls. I don't know what causes this problem.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi Gixxer users,
After riding Hornet, Fazer, and 150AS, on Pune's Khadkwasla backwaters road (a mix of ghat road and straight urban road), I finally picked Gixxer - blue moto gp edition, as my next bike as I was impressed with its performance, pickup, and stability.
Booked it.
Bike is yet to be delivered.
I wanted to know about Suzuki Service Centers around east of Pune.
1) Has anyone serviced it at Bharat Suzuki, BT Kawade road (It is closest to my residence) ? If yes, How was your overall experience?
2) Any other Suzuki Service center you recommend in Pune? Preferably east pune like swargate/camp/market yard/solapur road/kondwa?

Hello Chats,Originally posted by chats View PostI got a call from Bharat Suzuki in Pune asking me to come for my 3rd service, and a free bike wash and chain lube.
When I gave my bike to the mechanic he told me that I didn't need to change the oil as I'd only done about 2200kms so far. But the bike was feeling a bit gruff and the engine was getting noticeably warm, so I asked him to change it anyway. I also asked him to make the suspension firmer, and told him about the hard gear changes.
I spoke to the workshop owner who was asking for customers feedback regarding the bike so that he could report back to Suzuki. He told me that the rear disc brake variants would be launched soon.
He also told me that they're putting in a new oil from Idemetsu, who were sponsoring the chain lube camp, and told me that the bikes engine would be quieter after the change.
He was right, and the engine noise has changed, and feels fuller/richer at higher rpms, and a little quieter at lower rpms. The engine still feels a bit gruff, but less than before. But I feel the accelerations come down a bit.
The engine felt a bit warmer than usual when I rode it back from servicing, but the next time I took it out I don't recall feeling any engine heat, so that's an improvement.
Since the last 400-500 kms I've sometimes been feeling a very mild buzzing on the footpegs. It comes and goes and only happens at some rpms and then vanishes. Sometimes I think that it could just be my imagination. I thought the chain was loose + not cleaned/oiled some the last 1200kms and could be the problem. I got it adjusted, and oiled but I still felt the mild buzzes a couple of times since the servicing.
I got the suspension setting changed from 3 to 5. I think handling's improved, but the rides also a lot stiffer, and not as comfortable. I don't think the bike will bottom out any more, even with a pillion on board (not that it did that very often), and I think the difference between handling while going one up and two up won't be as much now.
Gear changes have become much easier, and smoother after the visit to the workshop.
The bikes doing great, and I like almost everything about it. The one thing that I think could be improved is it's performance at lower rpm's. It's not that the engine knocks, or that I feel the need to do frequent gear changes, it's just that after about 4500-5000 rpm the engine and bike seem to come to life, and below that it just seems to putter around. I wish it felt sporty while going slow too.
I read your above experience with suzuki svc.
I've sent you a PM regarding inquiry about service at svc.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I've only serviced the bike at Bharat Suzuki and while they were good before when they weren't so busy, they're not that great anymore. They are very polite and professional, but the last few times I went there they had too many bikes to service and so they didn't do a very thorough job. I feel my chain needs adjustment even after they service it.Originally posted by BikesRUs View PostHi Gixxer users,

Hello Chats,
I read your above experience with suzuki svc.

That said, there wasn't really anything that needed servicing the last time I went there, as I'd only done 4000kms in the year I've had the bike.
I used to get close to 60kms/l initially, but now I get barely 40. I think the last oil change is partly to blame. Suzuki has changed the oil from Motul to Idemtsu, which had a negative effect on the acceleration but made gear changes smoother.

Ensure that idle RPM is around 1500 when engine is hot.Originally posted by T-Bag View PostHello guys! I got my bike last saturday(19-03-2016) and am about 100 km on the odo. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Idle RPM is at 1.5k and went to check with a local mechanic but he wasn't there, so one of his assistants saw it and said that the clutch is all good and it would get better with driving. I tried explaining him the situation that if my bike stalls when I'm on a signal, I'm screwed, but he was like "Nah, it would get better". I have to go there tomorrow to check if the main mechanic is there or else I have to take the bike to the SVC. And what else could cause this problem? Air Filter? Spark Plug?Originally posted by SatSon View PostEnsure that idle RPM is around 1500 when engine is hot.

Thinking of painting certain parts of the bike Lemon Yellow, as red/black and green/black is too common in glamour and stunner. Specially the grab rails and tank mid section
Rims like this, half painted

Nice idea, but did you notice... There are no chrome parts in the second pic. You may have to "hide" the chrome and aluminium on the Gixxer. Do post a pic after your experimentsOriginally posted by Jagzxbhp View Post

Suzuki Gixxer 155
Is it safe to go full throttle for long rides.
I rode around 150 kms today, initially I kept at 6.5k-7.5k, but as I felt more confident I rode the last 80 kms at full throttle which was around 8.5k-9k. Is it safe? I plan to do a 1k trip. So pls advice.
