Yes, keep monitoring the reading on the dip stick at regular intervals. Keep the bike on main stand for at least 15 min and then take the reading.
Air filters nowadays are seen with such marks. It's normal, however I don't know what it means.

That may have been a mark made by the SVC mech as part of service schedule to knock out the pointers on the job card. Because I don't think that such small a mark should mean something relevant.
I maybe wrong here, but your filter looks absolutely fine.
Engine oil turning black means that it is doing the job of keeping internals clean quite well. Take the dipstick out and put a few drops on your palm and rub it with your fingers. You'll know that it's time to change it once you feel it contain coarse particles. Also, while riding with a used up oil, you'd get to know the same courtesy rough engine behavior, sticky shifts etc.

He has done it on other bikes. I am too busy with my office work due to a project delivery so did not get time for this, will post pictures once i do it on my bike.

Update: Done the seat padding with 1 inch foam and covered with a faux leather material. (Kind of rubberish non slippy feel like the original seat clothing). The comfort level has astonished me..... i could not believe that just Rs 370 can give you such pleasure. The roads which i dwell daily is feeling like changed a lot. Kudos to the local seat fitter. His idea of dual density padding really works wonders for our stiff mean machine.

            Hey Guys,

Anybody has a better solution to this other than hanging the rubber sheets???
Any suggestions for extended front fender....anybody?????

I felt your spark plug indicated mild oil consumption, hence my query to you.
Also, that is oil inspection window. You have to take the dipstick (oil filler cap) out from the case to measure levels.
Don't tell me gixxer doesn't have it.

I think Gixxer doesn't have it, oil inspection window serves that purpose as well; you can clearly see the recommended markings.

There's no dipstick according to me.

In that case, you shall have to constantly observe the level from the inspection window after putting the bike on the center stand. Wait for 15 min and see.
If there is no oil consumption, then your spark plug shows good AFR.

Hi guys! I faced a problem off late and got it repaired too, just wanted feedback as I'm still not sure of it..
Saturday morning,as usual,I was riding and suddenly felt loss of power, like the throttle had suddenly gone off.. But it recovered in some time.. After riding for little longer, around 3kms,there was a very weird sound coming from the engine... I was shocked and rushed to service centre and gave it... Got the bike today and they told that there was only 200ml engine oil left and the camshaft assembly, spark plug, gasket, magnetic cap and the inlet valves were changed.. He told that the inlet valves were bent, mostly due to hard throttle.. Is that true? Moreover,I have never gone hard on the throttle, so I'm still perplexed as to what the reason could be.. Could anyone help me with this? The reason this could have happened, precautionary measures and the legitimacy of the reason provided by the service manager? Thanks

How many kms have you clocked? Did you check the oil level thru the oil inspection window anytime & what oil are you using? Cam shaft assly & inlet valve going kaput is very rare & does not occur before 25k kms unless there is a mfg defect with one of the components which is even rare. Second reason is lack of lubrication because of lower oil level than recommended. The reason for damaged cam shaft assly in your case may be lower oil level which could not provide sufficient lubrication to the cam/valve assly.

I have completed 13.5k kms on my bike... I use the recommended motul engine oil itself.. They change it after every periodic service so I presumed engine oil won't be a problem.. Hence,I never checked for its level off late :/

Looks like the svc didn't change the oil at all, seen an activa with same case, oil not changed and it dried up and engine went kaput. Always check bike at the time of lubricant change by svc, better to be safe than sorry.😉

Woah... That's so screwed up.. They are supposed to and they even charged for it, so I thought it's safe :/ BTW,how to check if the engine oil is above or upto the required level? I think I have a vague idea, not very sure though...
