Do you hold the clutch in while using self start? Because as far as I know, gixxer doesn't self start unless clutch is held...

gixxer is also tagged for 95000 rupees..
            almost one lakh

I'm not at all against the bike.. I'm just sharing my views.. the points I have mentioned is common for all gixxers.

except power I didn't compare any bikes with gixxer.

            have a nice day
Pulsar is 1bhp more than Gixxer but that doesn't going to be a great difference...Gixxer has more torque than Pulsar and apache, it has a great low end and mid range torque.

We may say Pulsar 150 and Apache 160 is more power than Gixxer but truly its the Gixxer.

              "Dear Sir,

You can change your oil to Idemitsu 10W40 with synthetic additives also available at our dealerships. Motul 7100 10W40 JASO MA2 is not tested on Gixxer hence may interfere with warranty.

              Regards"
              No...Don't go with Idimestu!!

I suggest Mobil 1 10W40 semi synthetic or fully synthetic oil(not needed for a 150cc bike).

Mobil 1 is far better than Idimestu, mobil 1 will be perfect for Gixxer.

Ground clearance i think is manageable but pillion seat is definitely a concern.
I am personally not comfortable handling heavy bikes so avoiding anything 135 kgs and above.
Although I did not test drive, tried sitting on and moving the Uni 160 and Gixxer showroom bikes and am comfortable with their weight ( 135 kgs although, both).

Uni 150 is a proven and excellent bike no doubt, and Honda is going to re-launch it but my concern is its weight (145-146 kgs i think), which is beyond what I can control. So Hornet, Pulsar, Uni 150 all are out of my list unfortunately. Don't like Apache as it vibrates a lot and the build quality is not durable in my opinion.

All in all, it boils down to Gixxer vs Uni 160 for me. Although my heart is for Gixxer, practicality dictates that I may be forced to go for Uni 160 - Lesser price than Gixxer, better mileage, better seating, etc. But have been told to wait for 2 months. customer service as well as bike servicing are definitely of concern when it comes to Honda guys.
Still spending some more time to read and analyze further before I finally make up my mind and buy.
When you have these factors for selecting a bike I suggest you test ride all the bike in your list with and without pillion.

"Why don't you try Hornet? It has everything thing that Gixxer has, good styling, power, more ground clearance, good engine refinement and importantly the pillion comfort, pillion comfort is super for Hornet with broader seats."

please think before buying gixxer . I am not against to it but you should know some things before buying it.

                  1. Ground clearance. it is very low when compared to other bikes. Silencer may hit the ground often, in bad roads with pillion.

                  2. The. power is low when compared to apache,Honda, and pulsar. You will feel it while over taking and in gradient.

3.Pillion seat is no more comfortable. If you are a family man please avoid this bike.

                  4. Some minor problems I have faced are..

1.Gear shifting issue will get better after service but not smooth.

                  2.Shock obsorbe is little stiff.

                  3.Rear brake is not satisfied.

                  4.Loud sound at high RPM.

5.Little vibration at 4500rpm beyond that it wont exist.

6.Stock headlight position not good that much but it can be adjusted

                  Main advantage.

I didn't get any vibration even at its top speed. (121kmph)

It is best for long travel.

I got 40 kmpl mileage at the speed of 80kmph for 450 km run and 30 km mileage at the speed of 100 and above for 600km run. I guess you will surely get 50 kmpl if you maintained between 60 to 70kmph.

I didn't drive any other bikes so I can't compare with any others.

My another advice is you can try with apache 200, pulsar 200 which is available at same price with more and more power.
I don't know about long run. but proper maintenance is the matter.

                  check with hornet otherwise.

I won't go with Yamaha bcoz it has the lowest power in this segment.

please think and go for test drive if possible.

I have heard that Honda unicorn 150 is going to be relaunched again by Honda. please check that too.

I do not know what to say but having ridden RTR 180 and Pulsars for long, I can say that I was wise enough to exchange my RTR 180 for a gixxer some months back. I mean it and I can clearly state why if it's needed. You seem to be a person who is giving more importance to the minor things than actually enjoying the ride. I suggest you to ride all other bikes extensively and then think of whatever you've said. Leaving a signal first and stopping at the next signal first is not the reason why we buy bikes. These bikes are not meant for drag races too. If you want to lead a pack, you got to be a smooth rider instead of being just a fast rider.

Oh did I mention? I have a friend, who, after selling his old duke, bought a gixxer and has fallen in love with it immediately. All he can say is that this bike doesn't feel puny and is actually developed for us Indians, specifically.

Do not live by the numbers you see, instead, live by the time you spend with this small wonder.

                    Hi gixxer owners,

Can you people throw some light on the braking power of gixxer?

I was all set to buy a gixxer around November 2015 after test riding it. Gixxer simply blew my mind and I had no second thoughts in buying it. Then the reports came in on rear disc version. I waited till auto expo 2016 and was very glad with the announcement.

                    But . . . .

Now it seems suzuki will wait till end of the year to launch the rear disc variant till it clears the existing stock.

So I just need experiences on real world braking power of gixxer. I have driven Yamaha fz v1 a lot and I was not happy with its rear brakes. So any comparison with it will be great.

                    Thanks for your time.

I dont know about you but Ive seen a lot of difference when shifting from Idemitsu or whatever suzuki is giving to Motul 7100, bike feels highly responsive now..... much much better.

Also as the drain interval is high(5000Km IMO) it doesn't make a ton of difference as regular change is at about 3000 Km..

                        Hi bro,

My Gixxer is Jan 31st 2015 , rear brake is not a problem. But if compared with fzv2.0 overall braking performance is good on Fz . In Gixxer you'll feel confident for braking due to its chassis and on Fz due to its better bite. I've not ridden Hornet but people say it has better brakes than Gixxer/Fz.

Thanks for the info bro. I will be anyway going with the Gixxer. If Suzuki does not come up with the rear version any time soon, I will go for the existing drum version.

I'm not sure whether suzuki will launch rear disc and FI variants any time soon. As far I enquired, It will be atleast 3-4 months mostly end of the year. Also I like naked Gixxer than the Faired one. So mostly, I will be looking into the Gixxer drum version if Suzuki does not come up with rear disc variants in next one month.

All the best bro, if you're worried about braking actually the difference is very less. Even if you compare to Hornet braking difference can be compensated with rider skill. The bike is best 150 for city solo rides. If you ride in city most of the time get one.
