I personally keep my bike free from covers and stickers as I like it that way. I have fellow gixxer-riders who got those tank covers for 500-2000 rs depending on their affordability. Get online and also search for the same from quality brands. Make sure you don't look for magnetic ones as this tank is plastic. Avoid buying it from re-sellers online as most of the goods they sell are fake. If you personally know any liners who can customise existing tank covers/ make new ones, then make your own stylish tank cover with quality materials.

Coming to the bike's performance in rain, I took the risk of parking it with exhaust beneath the water and guess what, the bike started in the very first try even after an hour in the water. The bike runs effortlessly with light pillion in knee deep water. I used 1st and 2nd gears most of the time while wading through water. I tried various pressure settings for the tyres and I found that having 2 or 3 PSI reduced in both the wheels gives amazing grip in totally wet conditions. All I would say is that you can't trust what's under the water so be careful where you point your front wheel to in water logged areas [:
    Thank you!!

Where is GP road, I am near Avadi how to reach GP road...many suggested GP road for bike accessories, but I don't know where it is!!

On the serious side, the starter motor is placed on the front part of the engine. There is a plug on it and it looks similar to spark plug cover. Since this bike doesn't have an engine guard, it is the first thing to get hit most of the time. It is not so weak because it is sealed really well in most bikes. Since you have other lighting problems, you should as well check the switchgear and lights.

Get back soon once you diagnose the problem and find the solution. Good luck.

      Thanks Friends,

Looks like there was an issue with wiring. Not sure whether it happened because of rain (but i do suspect water entering into it)

Hmm... now we should take care of the switches too :P

Didn't get much time to talk with the SVC friend. Too many vehicles came in after rain. In fact, there was another guy who came with a very much new Gixxer saying the self start didn't work!

Hey today I did 40Km ride with your tips for riding posture. And to the surprise I didn't get any backpain today. Thank you again for the good tips.

This is given so that you can perch your toes on the footpeg and lock the rest of your feet on to them. In this bike, surprisingly its very functional for the rider from my own experience. Next is how you grip your thighs onto the tank.

Buddy, can you explain this in detail, preferably with a picture? Sounds interesting. I have always kept by feet such that the foot pegs are at the center of the feet. Never worried about that wings like thing!! :O

It is not new for these kind of issues to occur. It's mainly because of water and just keep the bike as dry as possible.

This is a very intense statement. I don't think you checked other brands. So many other bikes face this problem too [: Next time, don't make such statements.

This should help you. I have got some of my own pictures with my gixxer and one is here on the forum too, a few pages back.

In this picture he has a slightly arched back, prolly he was moving around when the pic was taken.

In the other picture of mine, I was having a slightly arched back too as the fellow rider took it when I was moving around. I will try to upload the pic once again if I can keep it in mind :P

Watch the powerdrift review as you can get a clearer picture of the riding posture. The test rider sits well. Also you can see in the above pic how he has perched his foot instead of keeping the heel or just the middle part on the footpeg. The rest of his leg is covering the rearsets/wing like thing as he has locked on to them.

any bike switches are not completely water-tight and can malfunction when wet or get corroded insides . Open the switches , there must be some screws on it ( usually under it ) and spray few drops of wd-40 on the contacts and pivots , periodically .

                    what is your usage?

Do you use the headlight more? I mean more night riding and even during day time?

Note that if you leave the bike unused for long, the battery might lose it's charge too.

Going by the positive reviews, got my steed back in July.
Enclosing few pictures of the same! 💜
