    Happy!![emoji2]

But once when I was filling petrol few ml of petrol overflowed and drained through the hole shown in the 2nd pic, my friend said the petrol drains into the tank only, the hole is for draining overflowing petrol.....So I was in a confusion whether the hole is for draining petrol or water.

So the few ml of overflowed petrol drained outside!! Next time I should be careful while filling petrol.

Thank you for clearing my confusion!![emoji106]

i see that you are now starting to explore your new gixxer. This mechanism is there in most of the bikes and don't worry about it. I've let my gixxer stand in rain for hours together and noticed that there was no water in the tank whatsoever. Just close the lid tight and even if water enters it will move out through the drain. Make sure that you don't force a jet of water onto the gap surrounding the lid to test the mechanism.
I will not force water near the lid!!
Actually my tank cover(installed as an accessory by showroom) is a shit!! It is waste of money for me, it is not even water resistant so I need to remove it, as it is raining in Chennai I had a doubt, which is cleared now!!

        Thank you!![emoji2]

Humidity + Warm conditions + poor coating => Recipe for rusting

Wipe those rusted areas with clean dry cloth and apply thin coat of vaseline-jelly.
Yeah, get rid of tank cover and try to park under cover/shade away from rains/sun. Rains with lightning(thunderstorms) are acidic.

Don't count on it, esp from Suzuki. They're known for having very conservative approach towards market/business.

There was a rumour about G-Strom 250cc twin lately for Tokyo motor show, it turned out to be GW250F!
There is a rumour about Gixxer 250cc single-cylinder for India, and we'll see how it turns out.

What is the cost of paid service now in west Bengal or Kolkata?? My service center in Midnapore is Saying 300 Rupees for gixxer that too labour, no chain spray nothing. 300 just for labour charge?? Isn't it too much?? Paid service should be like under 200 Isn't it??

you're welcome. You can check out for water resistant, highly utility-based tank covers on web and at shops in GP road and near thousand lights. I personally keep my bike free from covers and stickers as I like it that way. I have fellow gixxer-riders who got those tank covers for 500-2000 rs depending on their affordability. Get online and also search for the same from quality brands. Make sure you don't look for magnetic ones as this tank is plastic. Avoid buying it from re-sellers online as most of the goods they sell are fake. If you personally know any liners who can customise existing tank covers/ make new ones, then make your own stylish tank cover with quality materials.

Coming to the bike's performance in rain, I took the risk of parking it with exhaust beneath the water and guess what, the bike started in the very first try even after an hour in the water. The bike runs effortlessly with light pillion in knee deep water. I used 1st and 2nd gears most of the time while wading through water. I tried various pressure settings for the tyres and I found that having 2 or 3 PSI reduced in both the wheels gives amazing grip in totally wet conditions. All I would say is that you can't trust what's under the water so be careful where you point your front wheel to in water logged areas [:

Paid-Service => Labour charges are not free. Everything else is to paid for even in Free-Service.

                  Labour Charges : Rs 140 / Hour.

Stay at the SVC and clock the labour time

                    Guys,

After the rain in Chennai, Gixxies Self Start doesn't work.. Though I rode through water, nothing above the bottom end of the silencer.

Looks like there is some water in the switch? Anyone with same problem? I also noticed that the Orange light turns intermittently off when switching from Lights ON to Parking Lights Only Position and vice versa.. Is Rain water entering into the switches easily? :O

Yes the switch is kinda problematic.. I too had problem after rains and wash.. Replace the switch..
And regarding the 2nd problem i guess u need to show the svc n see if short circuit has occurred or not

Not a big problem. Once the rains stop check the contacts leading from switches. Go to service centre. That's the best thing. On the serious side, the starter motor is placed on the front part of the engine. There is a plug on it and it looks similar to spark plug cover. Since this bike doesn't have an engine guard, it is the first thing to get hit most of the time. It is not so weak because it is sealed really well in most bikes. Since you have other lighting problems, you should as well check the switchgear and lights.

Get back soon once you diagnose the problem and find the solution. Good luck.

How tall are you? It's one of the most comfortable bikes in the market today.

Sit as far behind as you can. The raised rear end is provided so that you can steady your bum and lower back during your ride. You sit in the bike rather than on it, don't you? [:

Do not hold the handle bar tight. Just hold it as much tight as it is needed to correct the direction or stability when it is needed. Note that this goes for all bikes especially sporty ones. When you hold it tight all the shocks are sent through your arms to your shoulder and you don't want that pain, don't you? Moreover, holding the handle tight is not good for the bike's stability. Without your knowledge, when on bad roads, the bike might point out to different directions that your tight arms force it into. The bike always tries to correct it's own stability and you just need to hold it as much as it is needed to prevent falling or sliding the front end.

Relax your neck and upper body too. Now, you can find the rear sets next to your foot peg. It appears like wings, both on rider and pillion foot pegs. This is given so that you can perch your toes on the footpeg and lock the rest of your feet on to them. In this bike, surprisingly its very functional for the rider from my own experience. Next is how you grip your thighs onto the tank. Lock them tight on the recesses and pull out the necessary thigh while cornering. Know that only the lower body must be tight. Do not arch your spine too much and bend forward. Don't be too erect and inclined backwards too. Keep your back erect and relaxed so that you don't feel the shocks going onto your spine.

It takes a little time for getting used to a particular motorcycle and now this makes me ask you how long have you been riding gixxer? And don't forget, good riding gear is important to keep you fatigue free from the oncoming wind. I had this problem for just a day with pain on my upper thigh joint. Now it's gone but I get it when I sit on the bike for more than 2 hours continuously, especially with a pillion, when it gets tight. During such times, I move my bum forward towards the tank and the riding posture becomes similar to something like how you sit on a duke/supermoto. That way, it becomes comfortable for the pillion to move around too [:

Thanks for your reply. I will definitely try your tips. Actually my height is 5'4. My mistake was i was not taking the advantage of heighted back seat and secondly I was holding the handlebar very tightly. I will avoid these mistakes from nowonwards.

alright, I am a 6 footer and it's very comfortable. It should easily be comfortable for you. Cheers.
