            • How to Gixxer 155 engine oil change

Hey friends. I wanted to switch from Suzuki's engine oil to Motul's 10w40 and am trying to figure out how to drain engine oil. I referred the manual and the picture they've posted there it is vague at best. I loosely guessed the location of the drain (highlighted in red) but the bolt is really tight. Before I muscle the bolt open I would like to confirm that is in fact the oil drain pipe. And if it is, it will be nice if someone shares some tip on how to loosen it. I am applying all my strength and that bugger doesn't want to open .

Turns out that is the drain pipe. I have replaced engine oil.

Is it synthetic or semi synthetic?

It's 300v 10w40 fully synthetic oil; bought it for around Rs.950.

Guys.. A word of advice.. The suspension of Gixxer is set to 3 by default... Which feels a bit stiff.. Not to the rider but mostly to the pillion.. I would suggest you to lower it to 2..

The reason i am saying it is because if it is lowered the pillion ride will be comfortable and the most important of all your suspension won't wear out!!
                          Yess!! You read it right!!
I have faced it.. And now I'm waiting for almost 20 days to get it replaced under warranty.. And not only me.. There are 3 more riders that have faced this wearing out issue and have come to the Svc this morning..
We all know that mono suspension isn't made to take bulky load.. And i have posted earlier how one if my idiot friend destroyed my suspension.. I now feel that this setting too is responsible... If the suspension is set to 2 it won't be stiff as now... And the suspension can play well than now it does.. Gixxer Sf has it set to 2..
So i advice u to check it out soon.. And save ur precious time..

P.S.- The Svc here just sucks!! Its the slowest Svc of Suzuki!! Even Honda Or Bajaj has better Svc

                            Wearing out in the sense...

If it is set to 2 the bike might bump often...will it be right to ride without pillion with suspension setting as 2.

If it causes no issues I will go to SVC this evening itself.

Wearing out in the sense that the oil has leaked totally and the suspension has been rendered damaged..The Gixxer Sf feels better on 2.. Test it.. I have checked the sf.. Thats why i am saying.. Gixxer is on 3 and i was pillion sometimes and it felt too stiff.. Not only me.. But my friends too said it.. Initially they blamed mono suspension and said dual is better bla bla bla.. But later it was found that the setting was the cause..

You can check out what is the setting for yamaha fz.. And then try to change..

Be extra cautious during tightening this bolt, as it's screwed on to crankcase, you may want to avoid re-threading in case of over-tightening.

Many agree that Motul 7100 10w40 is more than sufficient for premium Indian motorcycles.

Perhaps, that's the reason for the inadequate pillion seat ;-)

Suspensions work great when they're operating in optimal travel range, beyond that range we feel spongy/stiff etc. Motorcycle riders are supposed to adjust the rear suspension based on the seat load. Then again, quality of Indian made products(economic) may not be reliable.

You don't want to do that unless make and model of suspension are same, i.e. specifications.
