Convenient place which is not visible to the eye is under the seat. But its easily breakable and accessible. All I can say is that if the thief is watching me turn it off opening my seat while I park and go, he can very well break the seat and open it. Even otherwise under seat is vulnerable. But I wish to find a solution to this problem and implement it. Do you mean that you have fitted a mobile charger(USB charger) to your bike?

This is apparently the next best thing to chaining the bike to a tree. You just have to find a good spot, which is accessible with least drama, but is still concealed.Originally posted by srinath2494 View PostConvenient place which is not visible to the eye is under the seat. Yeah it's a USB charger. I went on a 3000+ Kms trip recently. I fixed the charger for the trip. It's easily removable.
Thinking of the kill switch because, I'm looking forward for more trips.[emoji16]

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Great initial ownership experience for the new buyers like me.Originally posted by srinath2494 View PostThanks for bringing up this issue. I had a good 30km ride this morning on my gixxer on open roads (outer ring road and inside city)
I noticed a few noteworthy things.
1. yesterday while filling up fuel, I noticed that the fuel cap is hard to fit in and also noticed the space around it which lets water inside as in the above pic. Do carry a rain over or when you close the fuel filler cap, use a plastic cover between the cap and the tank and then press hard until it fits in. This is something easy and its also so air tight. Just like how pickle bottles are packed before transportation [emoji14] [emoji14] [emoji14] But make sure it doesn't permanently hamper the cap and the slots where it fits in.
2. I don't want to get off this bike. Its so smooth and cruising at 50-60kmph (since m in run in period) is so breezy. The bike grabs a lot of attention. Some came by my side to ask the price and how it is to ride. I think the bike hasn't become common yet. Is it a rivalry or something? All the fz riders who saw me riding, overtook me, honked and looked back. Well, got nothing to do with that, but I feel the ego can be really less. [emoji14]
3. The exhaust sound is so bassy at such speeds that I never want to come down. Mind you, one should also respect the traffic.
4. The bike's rear mudguard feels like an extension and when in traffic, I felt like really conscious about it. Maybe its a matter of time, getting used to it.
5. The tyres are so good. I intentionally halted the bike in second gear. To my surprise, the bike didn't get cut off :O But quickly I set the bike moving as I thought playing around with the new engine would be harmful for the bike.
6. I got a crashguard which had paint worn off in few places(small patches though). I noticed it after removing the protective cover it came with. So I hope these scratches and no-paint areas are not a result of a used piece/ a crashed one. The crash guard looks puny too.
7. The footpegs are so low. I had my left foot under the gear lever and when I leaned the bike into a turn, my shoe scraped a bit.
8. I noticed that the bike revs freely compared to my older ride. So its smoother too. Also since I come from clip on handlebars, I like how easy it is to use the single piece one. Feels like a toy. [emoji14]
9. Wish I wasn't called back home [emoji14] the bike is so good to ride. Lesson learnt, always buy a bike that will make you want to ride again once you get down from it [emoji14] Japenese bikes are far better and very user friendly than their Indian counterparts. This is my view and I don't wish to disrespect anyone or any bike in particular.
10. Got thumbs up and stares from fellow gixxer and sf riders. Felt good while on road
11. I suggest all of you to do teflon coating or apply clear sticker. I parked the bike in a dusty area where there were lorries carrying sand and bricks. I thought the bike would have been nasty but surprisingly when I took the bike off the sand, I saw the dust and fine sand falling down on their own. Previously, when my friend and I took his gixxer to far off beaches, we noticed that the sand and dust stick to the bike, even long after the bike was in motion. And you can see a fine layer of the same on the fingers when you wipe it off.
12. The bar end weights, I mean, why are they even there?
13. The fueling in first gear is so not nice. Its not precise. But I love not changing gears frequently and the engine not lugging in higher gears and lower speeds. I came across the gear shift issues; that it is hard. But I feel it will set in soft like my friend's 3000km old gixxer and of course yes, these hard shifts are in a way reassuring that the gear is slotted in place [emoji14] Wearing sandals while riding can be painful. Especially the left foot [emoji14]
So here is a pic in broad daylight

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I was thinking from evening to fix a side stand indicator to my gixxer. Today evening I'm on my way to home & I didn't notice the side stand was not closed. I was in a highway speeding @ 60 kmph suddenly a OLA cab driver alerted me from left side. Thank God. I was in thought of taking a next left turn just few mins back to this incident. Have anyone tried installing ?Just follow my shadow.

Yup I had read it earlier in the afternoon[emoji4] . That post really helped me to finalize on Gixxer as I'm a college going student and depend on my parents for money.Originally posted by srinath2494 View PostGlad that you liked it. You own a gixxer too?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi Fellas,
I am getting some noise when i ride between 60 -70 Kmph speed that too when i increase the speed when i leave the accelerator noise doesn't come. I think its from chain, when i asked service center guys they said its air cutting noise, but if its air cutting noise, it should be there at other speeds as well. any idea about the problem ?
Does any one got teflon coating on your bike. is it good to have to maintain shine ? if yes from where we can get it done in Delhi

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Slightly off-topic.. But is anyone following Suzuki's re-entry into motoGP? Performance has been not so great with the riders complaining about lack of seamless gear shifting...

I am following. You say performance is not so great? On what basis? Couple of years back no one would even try to support them. Its a great comeback. Really great one. I think you have to see what happens in the labs and factory pits. They have been testing their vehicles so well for this. Honda and Yamaha have more experienced riders and after these many years, suzuki's bike is on par with those two companies. Of course, the relatively inexperienced riders of suzuki are doing well. Really well. And their bike is just complementing to their skills. The bike looks amazing and also performs as great as other factory bikes. Mind you, the same post you linked actually appreciates suzuki and its rookie rider for securing 2nd position in the grid. And I didn't find any such information of riders complaining lack of seamless gear shifting? Where's it?
In my view, the gsx-rr looks more proportionate and has a very attractive tail section too! Go through the videos of suzuki's re-entry to motogp and how they fine tune their bike using experienced test riders like De-Puniet. Its on suzuki racing motogp site and also on other video hosting sites. They have been tweaking their electronics for the same. They have used the gap of 2+ years very well. It will get tougher if kawasaki enters again with a monster of a machine and riders
And winning races or securing podium finishes depends on the conditions in the given day. There are so many other factors which are not visible to viewers that determine the winner. As we can see, a fraction of a second can change the fate of the rider in a race. So I wouldn't rate suzuki's performance as not-so-great. They know their capabilities really well. They are a great challenge to other teams.
