Thanks for sharing your experience. For me Motul 7100 10w40 as extreme smooth for first few days. After that it changed a bit. Upshifts in my bike was always pretty smooth and downshifts were relatively clunky. I could see that both shifts are much smoother now. I am used to having a decent engine breaking upwards of 6k-7k rpm. This time around when I approached a red signal and I downshifted I could see that engine breaking is no longer as strong. It could be either because the rpms for the speed has come down or because the bike has become much smoother. Either ways, I have to get used to this change.
I wanted to do a top speed run. My previous run was 111 km/h with throttle totally pinned. There was a lot of traffic and couldn't measure the top speed. I am confident it will be a bit higher.
I can only compare this experience to Suzuki's engine oil; it's much better and am very pleased, especially for long distance commuting.

Thanks for the pointer. Just checked the oil level. It has dropped a little bit. I also see a tinge of green (300v's colour) in the engine case joints. I have tightened the oil drain pipe bolt and oil filter bolts a little bit now. 300V is not an engine oil you need to use in Gixxer.Its an overkill actually.Originally posted by trybeingarun View PostYou might be totally right. One can buy 5100 15w50 and 5100 10w30 both JASO MA2 and mix them 50:50 while pouring and keep the remaining oil for next oil-change in separate containers.
Using Mixing viscosities | Widman International
resulting mix can fall around 12w39 grade roughly.

Motul 3000 is doing wonders in the bike, revving till 7k is vibeless now. Gear shift is smooth and guess what? the bassy sound has come back, its a head Turner now at 6k+ rpms. This is a very good oil compared to the motul Suzuki oil. I didn't opted the idimatsu or whatever they are selling now as it is synth or semi synth is till not known, and its always better to run desi bikes in mineral oil till 4000 kms. Attaching pics below. And yeah changed filter too.

It's the same grade. xW40 oils must be used. x can range from 5 to 20 depending upon the climate and riding conditions. 20 would be more viscous than 10, thereby reducing the knocking type sound in heavy traffic and high rpms.Originally posted by Rahul N View PostBut the grade is 20W40 and recommended grade is 10W40!!

After 4 to 5 Kms ride, does the engine sound gets changed?? Means no more pure firing. Its mixed with some kirr type of sound. Actually this kirr sound is coming from the engine and not from the exhaust and that to after 4 to 5km ride that is when the engine is hot. Is it normal??
