      I can only compare this experience to Suzuki's engine oil; it's much better and am very pleased, especially for long distance commuting.
      Thanks for sharing your experience. For me Motul 7100 10w40 as extreme smooth for first few days. After that it changed a bit. Now Its okay, but not as smooth as the initial days.

        I think you're confusing between engine break in and engine breaking. I've got > 9k kms on my odometer; so my engine is broken in.

        Thanks for the pointer. Just checked the oil level. It has dropped a little bit. I also see a tinge of green (300v's colour) in the engine case joints. I have tightened the oil drain pipe bolt and oil filter bolts a little bit now. I have to check the level once again in the morning to confirm there's no leak.

            Break in: Time required for a brand new / rebuilt engine to wear in properly.


            Engine Breaking: Using engine's stopping forces to slow down the bike instead of using brake.

                300V is not an engine oil you need to use in Gixxer.Its an overkill actually.
                300V are used in Superbikes where you would shift gears at redline,thus not harming the engine.I would say use 5100 and if you want a FS oil which is actually not a necessity then you can use 7100.
                I would urge you to remove 300V and put 5100/7100.

                Bikes above 200CC can only use the full potent of 7100.Otherwise 5100 is a brilliant oil

                  If someone decides to go with 5100 semi-synth series, then 10w40 is not available in India.

                  One can buy 5100 15w50 and 5100 10w30 both JASO MA2 and mix them 50:50 while pouring and keep the remaining oil for next oil-change in separate containers.

                  resulting mix can fall around 12w39 grade roughly.

                    Motul 3000 is doing wonders in the bike, revving till 7k is vibeless now. Gear shift is smooth and guess what? the bassy sound has come back, its a head Turner now at 6k+ rpms. This is a very good oil compared to the motul Suzuki oil. I didn't opted the idimatsu or whatever they are selling now as it is synth or semi synth is till not known, and its always better to run desi bikes in mineral oil till 4000 kms.                       But the grade is 20W40 and recommended grade is 10W40!!

                      Is it right to change the grade of the engine oil used?

                        It's the same grade. xW40 oils must be used. x can range from 5 to 20 depending upon the climate and riding conditions. 20 would be more viscous than 10, thereby reducing the knocking type sound in heavy traffic and high rpms.

                          After 4 to 5 Kms ride, does the engine sound gets changed?? Means no more pure firing. Its mixed with some kirr type of sound. Actually this kirr sound is coming from the engine and not from the exhaust and that to after 4 to 5km ride that is when the engine is hot. Is it normal??
