Yes completely stock . I use kick start instead of electric often unless there is an emergency.

I had a bad experience at my service centre. My bike has had a prominent false neutral between the 3rd and 4th gears since the day I bought it, and I was asked to let it clock more miles each time I brought it up with the service personnel. With the second service due, I thought it would be the end of that problem - but was asked to wait another week after the service due the unavailability of the parts needed to fix the problem.

On going back yesterday after I confirmed the availability of the parts, I met service personnel who flat-out denied that there was even a problem with the bike, going as far as to accuse me of not knowing how to shift gears. Then came the statements that this is best you can get on the Gixxer, and that my bike has one of the smoothest shifts of any that they've tested.

On my insistence that they change the gear shaft/cam plate as they had promised to earlier, they did, but the problem it's painfully worse now. One can feel the very prominent neutral, and harsh shifting quality while upshifting from 3rd to 4th. I've left my bike in overnight so they can try solving the issue.

I find it revolting and more than mildly offensive that my riding style is blamed for what's clearly a mechanical problem with the bike. Should I write to Suzuki about this? Has anyone here experienced a similar problem with their bike?

Yes bro did this in the SVC and the dynamo works all fine. I just wanted to know if the Gixxer's battery has to be recharged every 8 months or not. And as I said before the bike was not used for 23 days.

Since when are u facing this issue? And do u remember doing anything before that?

I left my bike unused from Oct 5-30th . Then on Nov 7th or say 10 days after the unused period I had to start my bike using electric starter in an emergency. Suddenly the screen went all blank(as if battery is full down) , wait for a few seconds the screen is dim and bike tries to start. Finally I pulled over and used the kick lever ,checked lights and indicators. They worked fine, later when I used the self start it worked fine for the whole day( there were signs of dimness though sometimes).

Next day when I took it to SVC they found the battery down it seems.

One more advice just shift to neutral from 2nd instead from 1st (make it a habit) . It helps in smooth shifts for long run

One more thing guys, the SVC people don't recharge the battery every time you give it for the service. They just check if its usable or not. I heard this officially from SVC

How you reach neutral doesn't have to do anything to gearshift operation. However something as simple as clutch freeplay plays an important role!

Bro I too don't know how, but my friends R15 gearbox went nuts due to some reason regarding this. He advised me to shift to neutral from 2nd instead from first for good long run maintenance.

Ahh!!! U shouldn't have used the electric starter.. Although that may not cause it.. But i am just guessing.. How much kms done?

That's incorrect diagnosis! Gearshifts depend upon oil quality, quantity, freeplay settings etc but not upon the sequence in which you engage them.

Definitely you can claim the warranty.. I have experienced the same and replaced it under warranty..

My battery went down in 8months of usage , I had to get it Recharged . Is something wrong?
