Now its done and my gixxy is as good as new.I am not against the SVC but their basic intent is to complete service as fast as possible as they have other vehicles to attend to.in fact they didn't even lube basic parts during last service.my faithful old mechanic atleast listens to me.

Cone set has 4 rings. Had attached pic before but you can see it again haven't taken multiple pics. Steering balls are small and big-two types. You have to check their sizes.as Suzuki parts are not available commonly and the SVC didn't have it I had it matched.finally it evenly matched with activa and hero splendor.what I would suggest is get the steering column opened and take the bearings as sample to the local spares shop and match it.BTW the cone set was bought from SVC but I got the work done through my trustworthy old mechanic.Click image for larger version

Get it thoroughly checked.these parts won't be covered under warranty. I had to shell out money for the same.

I made a trip to Bombay from Pune and back this weekend. I was in a hurry to get there when I left, and went as fast as I could.
I left Pune at about 4am and reached at about 7am , and despite making a few wrong turns and traveling about 30-40kms extra, and stopping a few times to check my map and verify that I was on the right path, I reached in about 3 hours. This includes a trip to refuel, so I could have covered the distance in about 2 - 2 1/2 hours if I was sure about my path, and had topped up the tank before setting out.
When I set out I wasn't sure if the stock headlight would be enough for the highway. It isn't the most powerful bulb, but as long as I wasn't blinded by incoming vehicles, it was adequate. The roads were pitch dark in places, and I had no problem riding between 85-95kms/hr for most of the journey. I could go fast because the condition of the road is pretty good, and there was adequate warning for all the speed breakers. I crossed 100 pretty often, and the bike was super steady.

I did the entire trip with the longest break being for filling in fuel in New Bombay, when my bike hit reserve.

The return trip took a little longer because I wasn't concerned about reaching quickly. I left home at 4.45 am and was back in my Pune house by 7.45am.
No breaks in between. But the speed breakers weren't so clearly marked on the way back, and after a couple of them surprised me, I slowed down till it got a little brighter.

I pushed the bike to it's max quite a few times, but the fastest I could get it to go was 114km/hr.
I think it's really strange that the bike maxes out at about 110 km/hr, because I could feel it respond to the throttle even when I'd crossed a 100km/hr.

I've been riding a bike for about 7-8 months now, and think that this is an excellent bike for a beginner. On the way back I saw the ghats I'd crossed on the way down, and there were quite a few sharp twists and turns there, which I couldn't appreciate at night, since all I saw in the dark was the tarmac, and the white stripes on it.
In the light of day, and on the way up, I had a blast navigating them. The bike is so easy to point and shoot!
The brakes had more than enough bite for me, and bike gave me the confidence to push the bike very hard in low visibility.
While navigating minor bends on the way, I rarely felt the need to slow down, and in fact used to accelerate a bit, to pull myself out of the turn.
, even if I was already at 85-90.
The journey was really enjoyable on the bike. The only gripe I have is that the bike doesn't have a bigger engine. I think it's very easy to cruise between 85-95km/hr on the bike, but it doesn't feel fast on the highway. It's a very quick bike, but it's not fast. But what it lacks in speed it makes up for in handling.

I'd adjusted the pre-load on the suspension because I felt that the bike was a little jumpy at the default setting. I changed it from 3 to 5. Handling has improved, but at the expense of comfort. The next time I visit the service center I'll have them set it at 4 and see if that works better.

I was here for a quite some time, but didn't had gixxer. Came to know about gixxer from fb group casual chat. Since then i was researching about it and made a call to nearest dealer. They have quoted around 4k more than of website and had to complaint to suzuki to get it solved. Finally on 24 october went to the shworoom with a friend. Initially my color choices was red and blue. But they had only one red bike and its engine kill switch color is already faded away. The blue was not as appealing as in photos. But the black was looking fine and seen so many black gixxy's in the neighborhood. So decided to go for black. Unfortunately that saturday was a Holliday and couldnt get the temp. Registration and insurance. Despite my request, the dealer said no delivery without the same. So i had to wait till monday. Did the payment and went home. Took the delivery around 11 am on monday. Got it for 88k including accessories. The salesman was helpfull and a straightforward guy. He listened to everything carefully and responded well. And he evwn suggested to buy number plates from outside.

Its too early to judfe the bike. Due ti the lack of storage space i had to get a tank bag. It spoils the look but it helps preventing scratches upto an extend. The pros and connes are already mentioned here in this forum. Hard gear shifting issue is true but headlight and horn are more and enough for me. The headlight throw was ok. That problem might have rectified either by suzuki or by the dealer.

                        Hey guys

Any ideas on how to replace the light above the rear license plate? I got the casing opened but the bulb just wont come out for some reason. Also scared to apply pressure as the bulb might break and be forever stuck there.

Also, I too have experienced sudden loss of power while riding. Last week while trying to overtake a car opened the throttle and no response for a second or two. Like the engine was off or something. Then suddenly leapt forward. No idea whats causing this. First time it happened to my bike but i've also experienced this on the test drive. But then sales rep during the test ride was like there was low fuel in the bike thats why it happened.
