Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Why do you want to change engine oil after running 1200 kms? It's absolutely not necessary. About the oil, stick to Motul w40 mineral oil. Which is what SVC people fill in as well.Originally posted by imranaryan View Post#Gixxer

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Its not a must to change the oil. But its better to do it. Go for same grade oil. Remember to get the oil filter from service center and change it with the oil. The Gixxer's oil filter is not available in outside shops. Its only 36 rs. I got 2 extra during last service. After 6-7k kms I'm planning to move to fully synthetic oil from shell.Originally posted by imranaryan View PostBuddy i did 1200 km after my 1st service i am thinking to change engine oil which one is good kindly suggest

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Nice post, although risky.
Took my bike for a general checkup, and asked about the idling rpm. Before it was very smooth at 1k, now, idles at 1200-1500. Asked this, after getting feedback that the idle rpm range should lie between 1200-1500.
Can definitely feel better power response, and the bike is a lot more fun now. Dunno whether this is default setting.
Have to say though, that with this setting, the old issue where I faced vibes in the powerband of 50-65 is back,. Need more inputs on this one point.

Suzuki recommends 1.5k RPM but I think u can set to exact 1k rpm. This will not be a problem at all. But engine should not suffer.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Set the idle at speed where the engine comes to life and idles smoothly on cold start which is usually around 1000-1200 rpm. The recommended 1.5k rpm is for a well warmed up engine.Suzuki recommends 1.5k RPM but I think u can set to exact 1k rpm. This will not be a problem at all. But engine should not suffer.

Notice, cold start idles at 1-1.2.
Once fully warmed up, idle is steady at 1.5k.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Urgent query
Is it okay to use grease to lubricate the O ring chains or will it be harmful? I took it to a local mechanic now expecting him to clean it properly but he applied grease instead of cleaning the chain and then lubricating it.
I am concerned as I am now not sure how to handle this situation.
Also Bangalore members, could somebody advise where can I find OKS 451 or Tribocor TC 40 in North or East Bangalore? I am having a hard time find these.Owns a baby Gixxer starting Jan '15
