Other than mild back pain, there was no other comfort issue. The light was not at all sufficient for highway riding.

Today, in the morining, when I took the bike to a nearby shop, I felt as if it has lost some inital grunt. That low rpm thrust was somewhat lacking.

Did the continuous ride damage it somehow or is it just that I'm overthinking it?

I'm past 2000kms and serviced the bike about a month ago.
Hi, losing of grunt I had experienced in my pulsar as well after some speeding or long ride . Guess it's common issue. Should be alright after a service. Do tell them during service. True about the head light. And really impressed with mileage my self too.

My ride takes me through ulsoor and koramangala. And boy oh boy was my bike completely washed up in mud. Did clean up the chain area and outer parts thoroughly after the ride. But the rear monoshock area and rear mudguard, kinda give it a dirt bike look, but totally messed. And dried up mud is literally like concrete, and can only be removed through high pressure jets.
So wondering what i should do to clean that area on a regular basis?
Any inputs anyone??

Just throw some soap water in the springs and let it get moist after a minute or two clean with a brush paint or toothbrush any one. It'll clean up.

Thanks! Will try that out just before my first service.

Need advice on Teflon coating. Is it recommended on new bikes? I heard this process removes a layer of paint too. Is that true?
Or should I rather just keep applying wax every month? I am currently using formula 1 motorcycle wax.
I will be going for the first servicing the next week. Will get the Teflon coating done if its advisable.

Btw,I have got a mileage of 50 till now (700 km in highway and city combined)! Truly amazed with it! I have kept the bike under 4.5k rpm. Will share the ride experience post servicing, after I rev it to higher limits

Pics of my bike after a ride in yesterday's rain. Left a bit late when the rain had picked up.

I actually cleaned my bike after getting back home, including the chain guard. But then had to run an errand, so had to take it out again!

Wanted to clean it again, but kind of convinced myself that it has a nice dirt bike kind of feel going on now, sooo... left it like that. Just wondering about the mud in the mono-shock. Once that stuff dries up, its like concrete!!!

Surprisingly, the chain seems pretty untouched. Very surprised!!

2nd feedback, i have is, the kickstarter rod, could have used a rubber padding. While wearing saddles, if you arent careful of how ur feet are placed, your feet have a tendency to slip off, over-revving the engine. Happened twice yesterday, so had to perfect kickstart with slippery sandles.

Also, hit half tank 2 days back. During the run-in, the bike seems to be averaging ~45-46 for me. Pretty decent, as i have been a bit rough with it at times.

radikel, have you removed any mudguard..?
Your rear monoshock looks like it has been dipped in mud. This should not happen, it's dangerous for the monoshock, if things go like this ,you'll soon loose your monoshock.
Try not to accumulate mud in shock.

Hi Anuj,

I haven't worked on my bike a bit. In fact, its in run-in, & have ridden it exactly as recommended.

Isnt this natural for naked bikes like this, to have dirt accumulated? Also, will mud collection really harm the monoshock??

I wanted to clean it but dont knopw how..cloth doesnt reach there exactly, and i dont have a hose pipe!

Guys, please share opinion on this. Is collection of mud a serious issue for the shock?

Cheers!!

If so ,than That's a manufacturing defect of mud guard design by suzuki .mud in mono shock eventually ruptures the friction less movement and so your shock jams/becomes useless if continued for a definite period.
Sorry bro I don't own a gixxer, but 200ns, and no ,naked bikes don't get their shocks in muds, it's the job of mudguard.
Just take a cloth and try to clean what you can .

Had first service done.. after a debate and argument with service centre guys to use 10w/40 only instead of their planned 10w30 or some other.. yesterday ride in rain had accumulated lot of mud on shocks area as observed by others but thankfully got serviced today. I think this effort has to be put by myself only from today Tip to others, please be there for oil change, they were least bothered about which oil goes in to which vehicle even after being specific.

Which svc in bangalore is this?

I discussed this with my 9-star guys on sarjapur road, and they were very clear that they use only 10w40 as specified by suzuki. No arguments!

They agreed 10w30 is mainly for scooters and that i was free to inspect during service when the oil goes in.

Report this to suzuki.

I am happy to join the Gixxer family.
I got my Blue Gixxer this Thursday. I was headed to my home from the showroom and noticed that the bike was not revving past 5000RPM in all gears. Also the acceleration was very very less.
I immediately reported this problem to the showroom mechanic and mentioned that there might be something wrong with carburetor. Surprisingly he agreed with my analysis and asked me to use the bike for 2 days and come to him if the problem still persist. And those 2 days were the worst; there was continuous itching in my mind about what was wrong with my bike and what excuses the showroom people would give in the process of resolving my problem. Then on Saturday I again visited the showroom and asked them to change the carburetor to see if it was the culprit. To my utter surprise they agreed to do that without any kind of compelling from my side. And guess what it worked like a charm. Now the bike is revving happily and so am I.
Thanks to Vallurupalli Automotives, Vijayawada.
