The bare white tank really calls for some stickering. It looks too bare in the white one.

You see things vacationing on a motorcycle in a way that is completely different from any other. In a car you're always in a compartment, and because you're used to it you don't realize that through that car window everything you see is just more TV. You're a passive observer and it is all moving by you boringly in a frame. ~Robert Pirsig

      Congratulations, have fun.
If you want you can remove the rear mud-guard-extension and keep the screws & guard together in a cover.

To each their own, I wouldn't recommend any sticker jobs.

Hi All, I missed reading this thread for a few days and the page count has sky rocketed. :O Hopefully, i will be getting my Gixxy delivered in 2 or 3 days after booking it on Nov 19th. Is it possible to remove the stock indicators and replace it with KTM dule's LED ones cos those look damn appealing to me! Also, are the stock headlight bulbs good? Can i get better ones installed as sometimes it gets too late in the night for my return. If yes, please suggest me good ones. Sorry if this is a repeated question. Thanks in advance.

Water seeps into the Duke indicators and the lens becoes foggy during rainy season. Also, they don't come cheap, costs Rs. 1200 for a pair.

My advice will be to go for LED bulbs (costs Rs. 50 each) that you get at any bike accessory shop. Since Gixxer doesn't have clear lamps, you can use White colored LED bulb in it. Been using the same on my since long

          Cheerz!!

Won't the LED drain the battery? Are you talking about HID setup? I heard they put a huge load on the battery and they won't even run on the tiny 3amp battery of Gixxer.

I hope I'm wrong. I too, want a better lighting for my Gixxer.

He's talking about turn indicators and according to my knowledge LED takes minimum power so issues of battery draining is eliminated.

IIRC, they're 10W bulbs at both front & rear. LED indicator bulbs may come very well under 10W.

I think LED-Indicators might affect timing circuit, esp if it's a capacitor based circuit.

Not the HID setup. I am talking about LED bulbs thay you get easily at local bike shops or even garages. LED are the least power cosuming bulbs, by no means it will drain the battery. If the LED bulb doesn't blink, you might have to use a flasher to make it flash.

If Gixxer has DC system, you can easily opt for 55/60W headlamp. It will work without any issues.

Yes, it does have a DC systen. The lights work even when the engine is off. But doesn't that mean running a 55w bulb directly from a mere 3amp battery?

I didn't know headlight was connected to battery, thought it was directly connected to o/p of full-wave rectifier.

Hi. I just checked with my svc guy and he said that warranty will be void for only the part which is tampered with and not the full bike. So any suggestions? I really want to install a nice projector.

You need minimum 5amp battery if you want to run 55/60wt bulb on your bike. Try one thing to check the power of your current batter. Use tail light, headlight, indicator and horn at the same time. I am sure it will surrender in front of you but a good quality 5amp or a bigger battery in good condition can pass this test easily

A 3Amp battery can power 55/60 easily. But the life of the battery decreases rapidly which leads to self start troubles.

Is saree guard worth using? Removing it will reduce 1-2 kg which will affect mileage...any opinions?

I am not sure if Saree guard is as heavy as you say but for sure Saree guard has no connection with mileage it's a safety feature let it remain

babaji technically what your svc says is correct but do remember it has a rider attached suppose you install a HID kit or projector and god forbid there is electrical issue and a starter motor goes they will simply say since you installed the kit it caused the motor problem so we wont replace you need to pay.If you are ready for the risk go ahead.I am yet to look at battery bay in the bike suppose it has space at end of a year you can maybe upgrade the battery and install kit as now use it as it is
