Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Balgi I partly agree with you and partly disagree with you. Most branded helmets are not genuine is a wrong statement.Yes LS2 had fake issues not denying the same. But the kind of comfort padding you get in these branded helmets you dont find in local brands trust me on this I went around shops trying local makes and imported ones.If price/quality doesnt determine protection ability majority of us would be buying roadside helmets for 200-300 rs.My point is what you ride comes secondary even if you fall from a TVS 50 you need a good helmet to protect your head even if you aint speeding.I can add more points but would go OT so would stop hereOriginally posted by Balgi View Post

True, but what if a road side helmet was priced at 5k INR. Would it automatically become high quality. High cost fakes offer less protection than low cost genuine helmets.
Anyway the points you presented are very true and yes we are off topic so let's cease this needless discussion.
Cheers

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Any expectancy of faired gixxer launch. I've booked a black gixxer . if the fairing launches in January I can wait. Also what price increase to expect? Won't the fairing version have less mileage? Also the scoop seems single headlight so no stator coil rewinding would be needed as in fz to fazer conversion. Can it be converted later.

You mean January'15? Dude, Gixxer was announced in feb'14 and was launched in september. Now this, faired Gixxer is not even announced. I think its about a year till we get our hands on it.Originally posted by Jagzxbhp View PostAny expectancy of faired gixxer launch. About price, expect around 6-7k increase. Can't say about mileage because engine specs are unknown. If its the same, expect a 5-8kmpl drop in mileage. Conversion seems eaisier. But hey, I'm just assuming these things only by looking at a spy pic.
:P
The sense of freedom these two wheels give can never be matched by anything else...

Even if there is a scope for one dont expect it atleast for a year and leaked pictures we are not sure if its authentic suzuki rolled out gixxer in september and I dont think they will give another version within such a short spanOriginally posted by Jagzxbhp View PostAny expectancy of faired gixxer launch. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
What didn't you expect from me?
I am a practical man @Anuj_Gupta. I myself own an ls2 helmet, I bought it coz I could afford it. Had I not been able to afford it I would have bought a steelbird or studds. He also bought a Vega coz he at the time couldn't afford a better helmet.
We all seem to forget that the best helmets upto a few years ago were ISI certified. And you seem to be concentrating on the price of it too much. I bought my last helmet for 750/- INR, it was a studds ninja 3g (army canteen) so I ask you is it low quality?
He didn't buy a road side helmet, That's the point. The price is irrelevant + he did say he would buy a better one ASAP.
As to the bike itself. I meant that the gixxer is not as powerful as other bikes I mentioned in terms of pulling power. Which means he can't attain high speeds as quickly. Trust me the power you have under you makes a world of difference when you fall. Its the difference between hitting a brick wall and hitting a wall made of steel coming at you at speed. When big fast bikes crash the scene is way more gory and irrespective of riding gear used the chances of survival are slim to NONE.
Let it go brother. Like I said before, you have done your job by telling him what's right, rest is upto him. You can bring a horse to water but can't force it to drink.
Hope you understand. I never said you're wrong (just the opposite in fact). I just said that he is an adult and he knows what's best for him.

You never know. They might launch the faired gixxer. You see its a market grabbing war out there and all companies are trying there best to have as many cards on the table to get a good hand (poker language, please excuse). But you could be right i mean strategically it makes no sense unless they fuel inject it and launch it with power bumped.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Market war is fine but not technicality aspect since this is a new launch initial hick ups steady sales minor/major issues that arise as the bike runs will arise over the span of next 6 months to one year and I dont think Suzuki will wanna introduce another model and break it heads over the issues that may pop up as the bike sales stabilize and more vehicles come on road.If Suzuki is to do anything it is expected to open more SVC so its helpful for customers.Originally posted by Balgi View PostYou never know. Maybe that's it. Maybe they are testing this bike like ktm did with the RC series. Once all problems with gixxer are dealt with they'll put this on the market as a new sporty version like the RC 390.
And I agree about svc's.

I gotta go with gixxer.
BTW will fitting Roots vibromini 2.5ah dual horn need a relay?? What exactly is a relay ? A capacitor like thing or a start stop type mechanism (dual horn) that activates a horn stopping the other horn and vice versa to make paaa puuu type sounds .

Yes a relay will be needed. Its a device which routes the power in such a way as to decrease load on the system and increase power output to devices that need it. I also suggest you to buy a switch and fit the vibromini along with the stock horn in such a way as to allow switching between stock horn and dual horns. Takes 2-3 feet of wire and a relay. Best get the roots relay and switch.
Also the musical horns are shit and they come with a control box that has a switch.
