Damn I still couldn't find my misplaced Philips Xtreme vision bulb.
How about bixenon projectors? Will they provide better illumination or the same?

Just wanted to have my say about helmets... That guy's using a Vega helmet, and you are complaining of it... I mean, I thought Vega helmets were good VFM offering good protection; as reported in various articles in mags and on many sites... I myself have been using Vega helmets since I started biking around 12-13 years ago... I'm really confused, should I bye-bye Vega now? [emoji15]

Yogesh its not like that Vega if VFM agreed but when you buy hi power bikes you need that xtra protection. Most ISI helmets dont have enough paddings compared to DOT ECE certified ones. When the helmet is a snug fit and offers you good protection you can ride with more confidence.Even I had a Safe helmet now got a MT I can for sure feel the difference cuts out the swish sound nice air vents and your head feels well protected.

If you're really on tight budget ,buy studds shifter.
Costs 1.5 k and is miles ahead of these cheap Vega.

I am not posting this to provoke anyone, in fact I am also a fan of this bike but I need some clarification on this thing from you guys as all of you are using it.
Good point. In fact i checked for this, the first and second week. No signs of rusting on a single bolt/disc.

I think the issue was, they stocked up a lot of bikes prepping for Sep 10th launch, and followed improper storage protocols...like damp conditions maybe?...or some such.
This resulted in certain bikes from the initial stock having very mild rust deposits.

Posting few pictures of my headlamp illumination that i took last evening.

              Low Beam

              High Beam

              Low Beam

              High Beam

The headlamp is pretty weak, and on the amazingly horrendous bangalore roads, cant see more than a couple of feet at times. Pretty scary.

I think it's high time bike manufacturers start stepping up their game like car manufacturers, and start offering better amenities in the smaller bike segment as well. Dont think better headlamps, auto turn indicators, & Rear disc/ABS is too much to ask for.

Am pretty amazed the gixxer doesnt have auto turn indicators, forget the headlamp!!! I think unlike car buyers, us bike guys mainly look at the bike mechanically, maybe its high time we start demanding equally good amenities for our bikes as well!!

Re-attaching the pictures. The high beam naturally has a larger throw distance, but the fall-off is too faded and quick, really doesnt have a major difference from low-beam.

No you shouldn't. Granted there are better helmets in the market, but Vega isn't exactly a shitty road side product either. The earlier discussion (which by the way was massively OT) was about not spending enough on protection when one is spending large sums on bikes. But in all honesty some of the previous comments were unfounded/unnecessary/uncalled for as it was less about protection and more about price of protection (honestly the price doesn't dictate the level of protection offered). But let's leave it as this has escalated far enough. If you know your helmet is sturdy enough and offers adequate protection then you shouldn't care about its cost.

Most branded helmets out there are not genuine and even companies like ls2 and mt agree there aren't many ways to tell fakes apart from real ones (there was a thread about the same). Besides, trust me the price of a helmet rarely dictates it's protecting ability. Yes Vega shouldn't have been his first choice but it isn't exactly made of sponge you know.
And the gixxer isn't exactly a superbike. Its a 15 odd bhp stylish commuter. Now if he was buying a Vega for a duke, cbr, r15 or a ninja (hell even a p220) I would have agreed but for a gixxer a 1k Vega isn't a bad choice (albeit not a good choice either).
