Buddy thing is that I want a low maintenance bike, gixxer is new so a bit confused. Also fi engines are better than carburettor ones aren't they ? Ie fzs fi is tried and tested as they say but my doubt is that fz v2 is completely new bike as the engine is new and the frame also . what to choose? After sales is too bad in here for Suzuki .

I am being precise - After 8 years of riding an utterly low maintenance Unicorn I am buying Gixxer without any doubts.

1st picture is simply superb. I think you should flaunt that fat rear tyre properly if rainy season in your city is over

OT: People, what's your take on getting an IND number plate?

My understanding is that, it should incorporate certain tamper proof security features which I don't find in any of the IND number plates made in the market today. Is it ok to get an ordinary number plate and then change it when the law becomes strict?

Raintree ind plates where ever implemented shall be issued by authorized places appointed by the government the current plates we get are replica of hsr plate not real ones dealer quoted twice the price I got it for outside. Technically speaking you can have a normal plate without issues

+1 to that. When HSNP was in vogue they were made with computerized markings (my cars from Himachal have them as HP had implemented it before it was withdrawn) and the plate is riveted to the vehicle. Also the plate number is recorded on the RC of the car and recoded with the RTO. And all this was for less than 400 RS. Now people are being fooled into thinking they have HSNP where as they are just another ordinary plate.

Got my bike's 1st service done today. 765Km on the ODO. Damages - 290 buck ONLY. They are running short of the oil filter which they said will be raplaced once they have the parts. Initially gave me an estimate of 500 bucks and when I questioned what were being changed found out they were giving additives of 200 RS. As has been discussed on this thread, additives are a way of ripping people and I flatly told them no gimmicks required, please :P

Also I found out that the technicians don't care a hoot about the RPM restrictions on the vehicles. They were servicing the Lets and the Access and I saw new scooters' throttles being taken to the limit. So much of RPM limits.

Also, i was told to come back in the evening when I had been at their servicing center bang at 8 AM when it opens. I asked whether it takes whole day to change oil, oil filter and a wash and told I will wait for them to finish. I always stay with my vehicle (car or bike) lest they misuse it or steal petrol. And I was right. there was another Gixxer on service which was being used for short errands by the technicians.

Anyways, technicians trotted in at 930 though the timings say 8 AM to 6 PM. My job was done by 1030. So much of whole day
I had reported the issue of false between 4 and 5 and as expected they did nothing about it even though it was mentioned on the job card. I am going to report it to Suzuki.

Got seat covers for 250 all inclusive and side indicator buzzer for 90.

At 789 on the ODO now and waiting for the next 11 KMs to enjoy the bike's rawness

Strange. Even aftermarket shops in Pune quoted 80. Could you send a snap of the MRP of Minda. I will take it up with the SC.

Ha ha. Good point. The buzzer on my Kawasaki is running cool for last 15 years and the one on Bajaj went kaput after 8 years. And yes, I did not replace it.

8 years wow that's a pretty long time man most modern day buzzers won't last that long and moreover the sound they make is hardly heard in peak traffic. If people can't notice your indicator for turns buzzer would hardly help
