Yes... I have tried cornering on flyovers on the way up @ good speeds.. Are you referring to the rider footrest as leg guard?

I have never felt so good on a bike when doing high speed corner...

The leg guard is the crash guard as you people call it.
Sometimes it is the people who no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine.

seems like realistic figures before first service! Maintain this spee after first service and I am sure milege should touch 50-53 kmpl (my best guess)

as you said, 60 seems very unrealistic.

Let us stop guessing. The bike is new and I hope the air cleaner is clean. So inflate the tyres to the correct pressure and go for a solo test ride with at least 300 ml fuel connected to the carburetor.

We want to konw the mileage in real driving conditions, i.e mileage when you ride daily with your bike. I think reserve to reserve method with decent amount of fuel and repeating it few times will let you know your mileage in realistic conditions.I dont think doing a conditional milaeage test with 300ml with solo rider and constant speeds of 50-60 kmph without gearshifts and braking will be useful for anyone.(the lesser the fuel the more the error, for 300ml test, 10 ml fuel will make the calculations out by 2 kmpl)A mileage of 50 -52 during realsitic conditions afer initial services will be too good for this bike in this segment(because it has a balancer shaft and sticky wide MRF tyres) .

Yes they are O-rings. You can clearly see the gap between the links.

Normally these details are provided only in the service manual not the owner's manual.

I don't think you will scrape your crash guard even in aggressive cornering.....Hope you have the required gear, before you attempt such things....

Service manual is the one which SVC guys have. Every parts detail with numbers is mentioned in it, right from a small screw to engine block.

                      Cheerz!!

Only service centres get a copy of the service manual. It is not for circulation to general public. The service manual give the detailed description of the method adopted for each service along with the parts to be used. This is like a bible to the service guys. If one can get a copy of this then all services can be done by us.

                        Cheers

In my 220 manual it is clearly mentioned that the bike has fitted with O RING chain so proper care should be taken.

Normally all the bike manuals post such simple info regarding the bike external parts but i think thats not the case with suzuki india.

Gixxer is a new product from suzuki so it must be hard to get a copy of service manual but with time we may get it on internet.

Service manual for fz appeared on internet just around two years ago.It has been really helpfull for me.

I reside in Nepal and almost all mechanics cannot read english. So any sort of manal in english is useless for them.
They lack even very cruicial information about bikes.

For eg of how properly educated our service manual guys are let me tell you one of the very reputed yamaha svc in nepal uses a single thickness gause for all the yamaha bikes.
When i asked why they were doing so they replied one is enough for all bikes and they even set tappet without a gauge.

Later when i went through the service manual , valve clearance for fz and r15 were
                                Fz:Inlet:0.8-0.12mm
                                Exhaust:0.12-0.16mm

                                R15:inlet:0.10-0.14mm
                                Exhaust:0.20-0.24mm

I had to scratch my head for around 2 months just to know the exact quantiy of fork oil on fz.

So i believe service manual should be circulated among base customers.
Service manual for service center makes no sence.
