... I wouldn't suggest you to change to an other bike juz because you dont get mileage.... Some reasons for very less FE in you bike is Air filter.. If it is very old, try replacing it... After that get your bike carbuettor retuned... Even after all these if you still get less FE, then it is something to do with the way you ride the bike...

I have heard bad run in period also as reason for worst mileage. Mine is a second hand bike.. so not sure about the initial run in period.air filter is pretty new, change couple of months back. Will check about carb tuning.
Gixxer just look awesome
..its so tempting

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Suffered from a strange problem today. Kick started the bike in the afternoon and as soon as i started accelerating, the bike turned off with a 'fussss' sound.
This happened 3 to 4 times at the time of starting and 1 or 2 times while i was in the 1st or second gear.
Any insights on this?Sometimes it is the people who no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I am confused between Gixxer & Yamaha Fz 2.0. Please help me decide which 1 to go for.
I currently own my 10 year old passion plus.
I did a test ride of Fz 2.0 last Sunday here in Pune and going for test ride of Gixxer tommorow. Fz v2.0 felt really smooth and was able to pick up the bike even from higher gears. The yamaha sales persons ( at 2 different showrooms) said that for fz 2.0 minimum 2.5 litre petrol should be there in tank and they recommended the v1.0 over the fi version. I don't know why. Another let down is no kick in the bike.
Few Queries on Gixxer:-
1. Pillion comfort. Is the pillion seat comfortable ? I saw that it is higher and slightly tilted forward.
2. Mileage. Saw people reporting not greater than 40-45 kmpl. My assumption is that all reporting their before first service. Does mileage rise after first service?
3. How durable is this bike ? My passion plus (10+ years) still it gives around 45 avg.
I thought of trigger too but after seeing Gixxer and FZ 2.0, honda trigger is out from my options.
Thanks

Mileage figures are of the bike before first service.
There is no possible way to comment on the durability now because its been a month only since the bike launched. But from what it looks likes and performs like now, i will say that the engine will last long enough and the bike is pretty sturdy too.Sometimes it is the people who no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Completed first service @ 880 Kms on the Odo... Below is a snapshot of the bill... Totally Rs 625/-.
- Bike feels smoother than before...
- Front wheel Wobbling was due to defective Alloy wheel which had slight bend when rotating freely on main stand..
- Suzuki service manager physically inspected this and promised me a replacement in a weeks time...
- Now enjoying gear shifts @ higher RPM, close to 6.5K - 7K is where I love to shift gears.. At least the 3rd & 4th gears..

Motul 10w40 for GiXXeR @ ₹ 243/- for 850 ml?Originally posted by elangoas View PostCompleted first service @ 880 Kms on the Odo... Below is a snapshot of the bill... Totally Rs 625/-.
I've not seen Motul Mineral/Semi-Synth in that grade(10w40) out in Indian market except Fully-Synth(7100 & 300v series).
Motul range per Motul-India website
I see ₹ 200/- for chain lubrication, sounds expensive. If you're keen, buy Motul Chain clean & lube spray. You'll have decent clean & lube at well under ₹ 100/- per process.
Chain is Non-O-Ring type, can some one post close-up picture[s] of the chain-links, please?
For mileage test, you may want to avail 100ml mileage-test-can method from SVC. Make sure 100 ml is properly measured using a reliable beaker.Last edited by SparKot; 10-08-2014, 01:05 PM.There is no honest path to prosperity - KoKa

It is Approx 250Rs for 10W40 Motul Oil.... I went to the spares section & checked the engine oil.. Looks like this is specially made by Motul for Suzuki Gixxer.. Will post pictures when i drop by there to fix crash guard.....Originally posted by SparKot View PostMotul 10w40 for GiXXeR @ ₹ 243/- for 850 ml?

Yeah.. I too felt for chain lubrication, 200 Rs is on the expensive side....Yeah i would like to buy and maintain the chain myself.... Could you please share a link with me of the Motul product, i will check with the oil dealers in my area for that product....
Will post close-up pics of the chain.....

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Agreed brother, It is overpriced, the Yamaha guys charge Rs 100, for the chain cleaning and lubing for 15, and R15 has got O-ring chain which is more expensive to maintain. Better to buy the chain cleaner and lube combo, and do it yourself every 500-700 kms. And yes it does costs less than 100 Rs per process.Originally posted by SparKot View Post
