Here is the ground clearance of some of the bikes available in India:
        BIKE Ground clearance in mm
        Impulse 245
        CBR 150R 190
        INAZUMA 183
        DUKE 200, 390 170
        PULSAR 200NS 167
        APACHE 160 & 180, P220, YAMAHA SZR/SZX, GT650R 165
        UNICORN, GS 150R, GIXXER 155, FAZER, FZ v2, FZ-16, FZS, R15 v2 160
        KARIZMA 159
        P 180, GT 250R 155
CBZ XTREME, CBR 250R, HUNK 145
        NINJA 300 140
        NINJA 250 135
        HAYABUSA 120.
Gixxer's engine produces 14 Nm torque and FZ v2's, 12.8; both at 6,000 rpm. I am not to compare FZ v2 and Gixxer but this the maximum torque in Nm applied at the rear sprocket of these bikes.
        Gear
        1 2 3 4 5
        Gixxer 368 234 174 140 117
        FZ v2 347 229 168 134 112
Surely more torque means more pickup and more bhp, the rpm being same.
Speed wise, Gixxer reaches higher speed than FZ v2 at the same rpm.
Gixxer's each Nm torque has to rotate its 9.6 kg weight while FZ v2's has 10.3 kg.
And again, I am not comparing these bikes.

One more thing, i rode the bike with chappals and shifting the gears up was a bit hard. At first it was fine but as i started shifting frequently, my foots top side started paining. Any fixes for this?
Congrats on your new bike and enjoy your ride!
Now coming to the last para of your post, there is a simple fix to this problem - wear shoes.
Chappals do not provide the required protection in the event of a crash. The normal sports shoe we wear also isn't enough but at least your feet are entirely covered and will not come in contact with tarmac during a ride or a crash. Main idea is to protect the toes.
In addition to this, shoes also solves your problem of pain near the toe while gear shifting :P

Thanks for the suggestions but shoes are not practical for me. I always wear shorts or pyjamas and frequently need to wear and remove my footwear. Hence need something else.

I think these will do the job.

Will try them today after buying one of my size.

Looking forward to some nice road trips now. The power and handling on this beast is superb. Will rip it once the first service is done.

                :yippee:

Congrats Dude...btw where did you bought it from in Delhi??
And you should get leg guard installed .
Gear shift in chappals is not a problem for me..I don't know why you are having difficulty.

On the bike scrapping the speed breakers, I have observed few things...

When my brother in law (95Kgs) was the rider & I was a pillion rider (72 Kgs), the bike scraped the speed breaker...

When i was the rider & my bother in law my pillion rider, the bike didn't scrape inspite of heavy pillion...

I think it is something to do with riding style, braking, deaccelaration & acceleration in timely manner...

BTW the stock settings on the mono suspension is at level 3... It feels very plush at 3... I think you can go one level higher to get even better response... I all try that adjustment in next service and update...

Coming to the gear shifts with chappals, I ride the weekdays with shoes to office.. So no probs.. On weekends it is pretty much with chappals& I have had no issues with it so far... May be I have gotten used to the toe shifter from my HH Karizma for the past 5 Yrs...

Bought it from M.D. Motors, Srishakti Suzuki, Krishna Nagar, East Delhi.

And i did ask for a leg guard as soon as the loan was process was done but they were out of stock. Will get one installed tomorrow when i go there to collect my temp. Rc and insurance.

Yeah. It could be the riding style.

I guess the gear shift with chappals is all fine and i am just too weak for it. Wore shoes today all day and felt less pain, still was not eradicated fully.

I agree. The exhaust note is really awesome. Feels like as if you are riding a super bike.

I think there were many who said Suzuki Gixxer tried to replicate Yamaha FZ naked styling... I think they should take a look @ Suzuki GSX-S1000 and think where the inspiration came from.... What a beauty (Both Gixxer & GSX-S1000)
