went to service center for installing leg guard where i came across a guy who thrashed his bike riding @ speeds abv 90 km/hr within 20 days of buying :P
    bike's gear box became faulty
showroom guy told me that service center guys are not trained well for servicing gixxer so a special mechanic was called from delhi

Yes there are only two service center in Kolkata & North area. The good news is, these days I see in newspaper suzuki advertising for dealerships in places between those areas if that happen & probably will it would be convenient for many suzuki owners.

The question is now whether it would be possible to swap service center after purchase.

Minor correction. Gixxer is based off FZ (in Indian market) else shouldn't it be based out of GS150R

Even that's my concern. Suzuki isn't well known for servicing and parts availability in local market

Now about the first service experience. I had been riding my gixxer sanely under 4500 rpm & with varying speeds as per the manual stated. I have a service centre about 2-3 kms from my home & another at 5 kms,so I have no problems regarding the suzuki network in my city. The service cost me Rs.320 only & I have attached a photo of the bill. The bike became significantly smoother & fun to ride as I can now revv it upto 7000 rpm. The only problem I faced was that the bike had not been cleaned properly when it was delivered to me after the service, they had washed it well but there were water stains all over the bike & I complained about that thing to the service centre guys. They quickly cleaned it properly in 5 minutes & gave it to me.

My experience has been really awesome with my gixxer & I am loving every minute of riding it. Anyone who is thinking of buying this bike must go for it without thinking any further.

          Cheers.

Congratulation! Looks neat without the stubby mudguard.

How deep is the under seat space, big enough to accommodate a disc or a spiral chain lock?

How secure will be the helmet lock you've fixed on the open grab rails possible to slide it off?

                Thanks mate!

I am not sure about the under seat space, but a disc brake lock can surely be accomodated in it with ease, but the disc brake locks come with a holder that can be attached near the front tyre above the disc, where there is attachment of the brake cable. I have attached it in my bike there, I am attaching another zoomed in photo here for you.

The helmet lock is quite secure there, & its not possible to slide it off as the grab rails are a bit swollen at the tips. Someone advised that I should have put it on the leg guard. Would that be better guys?

Lovely. Thanks for the pictures & info.
My opinion about helmet lock is to keep it where it is. If that thing rotates, you can keep the helmet on the seat when locked.

Wrong buddy. The gixxer isnt based of the FZ, but suzuki's latest litre class superbike. I remember seeing the pic somewhere. Will post it when i find it. I think its the latest iteration of the GSX-R 1000, but i could be wrong about that. But its definitely not based off the FZ

Here you go, its thr GSX-S1000, and not the R1000, more of a street sport bike, exactly like how they market the 'Gixxer'.

Yeah I did try that, but i felt that it is inconvenient to remove the seat everytime to attach the helmet.

Personally I don't know why is it just me or Is there anyone else too,Who feels that Removing that Extended Mudguard Spoils the looks of the Bike?
For many fellow GXR'ians this may be their personal opinion that removing mud guard's extended portion give it better looks......But i feel opposite...
Even I feel that Street sport looks from the back diminishes When you remove that mud guard and it starts looking like more of dirt bike,This thing is annoying as far as my perspective is concerned!

I too have the same feel... I like the bike with full rear mudguard.... It makes the bike look chubby from the rear and with that dual exhausts by the side, it looks fabulous......
