Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi Guys!
I have been following this thread everyday, religiously, like my life depends on it!
The only last question on my mind is.....do i wait for the Honda 160cc...or book the gixxer???(i tested the gixxer....and i was left speechless, just trying to hold on to that feeling of riding it!..that good!)

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I am not sure when the 160 from Honda is getting launchec. If you have the proper launch date, i would suggest wait for one month and look out for ownership threads amd feedback about the bike before you make the purchase. If the gixxer, then you dont have to wait that mich as people have already got it and reviews of ownership is available so you will know the niggles and issues of the bike if any. Since AFAIk, there isnt any i would suggest get the Gixxer..Originally posted by radikel View PostHi Guys!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
For the trigger even i thought the same, coudn't see any spy pics. And there was 2 months gap between initial unveil and launch for sale. expecting same for the 160cc bike.Originally posted by raintree View PostI am sure you wouldn't have seen any spy pictures of the Trigger or FZ few months before their launch. They are designed and tested in Japan and then locally manufactured in India to keep the costs low.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Honda has always disappointed me. Dazzler was exceptional in terms of mileage, comfort & looks. At least this what I feel. Suddenly they discontinued it in favour of trigger, a bad move!
Now that I'm zeroed on gixxer & hoping to get one in next month or so. The problem is service. The nearest svc is almost 30 km from my place & if I'm not wrong there's only one dealer in the entire Kolkata (proper) region.
What is the waiting period? Is there any norms like you've to ride the bike for at least x km to avail 1st and subsequent services? Asking because I normally ride less than 100km a month.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
yes. 750-1000km (in 30-45days) for first service. similar pattern for subsequent services.Originally posted by ganjasaurus View PostHonda has always disappointed me. Thanx a lot.
Gixxer it is then.
Also, when people are hyped over the honda 160....i dont see how much father they can push from the figures of the gixxer.
The gixxer is already 14.8 and 14.1 from a 155cc. You can surely extract more performance from a 160cc(although slightly) but at what cost of FE. If it does improve performance-wise from gixxer, then it HAS to, at the least match the FE figures, in this segement, else they will be pushing into CBR150R territory.
But then again, this is HONDA. If they REALLY want to beat Yamaha & Suzuki badly, then they are gonna throw all their R&D might from Japan or wherever else , just to beat them and rub it in their faces!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
honda has already mentioned that their 160cc will be placed between trigger/unicorn and cbr150r performance wise. so expect around 15-16hp of power and 15Nm of torque (just guessing). gixxer has already class leading respectable power/torque figures. especially FE. and priced low too. gixxer is like an all in one package thats affordable.Originally posted by radikel View Post@rreneav1987

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
True that!
Overall the gixxer is an irresistible package!
Just wonder. The the FZ is based off the FZ1, the gixxer is based of their new GSX-R 1000.
Honda have already claimed this new bike wont be based off the CX-01 concept they unveiled 4-5 months back. Any clues, on where they are going to get their design and performance cues from? I dont see anything else, but the CX-01.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I am in the same boat!!! I am also undecided between the FZ and Gixxer...The only problem with Gixxer is, that the only suzuki service station is in Hooghly(about 20 Kms from my home) and not sure about the reliability of suzuki SVC.Originally posted by ganjasaurus View PostNow that I'm zeroed on gixxer & hoping to get one in next month or so. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Top Speed is 117 Km/hr ..But you'll reach 105-106 comfortably... The best part of this bike is its Torque and Cornering.Originally posted by shojolbd View PostWhat is the top speed of Gixxer and kind of mileage can i expect if i cruise at 80-90kmph in the highway?
