Thanks for the info buddy... 300Rs as fitting charge is exorbitant for a crash guard worth 450Rs... I don't understand why they need to cheat the customers here.. Even if they reasonably charge 100Rs, it is fine...

I feel like someone robbed me of 300Rs..

Let me be the last person who was cheated by Suzuki dealer... Other folks who are interested in crash guard, please bargain or else pick the crash guard & get it fixed with local mechanic for Rs 50/-

Mileage update after first service : 44 Kmpl

Please note that this is because I shift to 4 & 5 th gear close to 6500 RPM to gain good momentum....

Also cruising speed is between 85 - 95 Kmph for most of the time...

That means you are shifting to 4th gear at about 60 kmh and to 5th at 70. Try to up shift to the next gear at the earliest possible and downshift at the latest while commuting. You can easily accelerate in 5th gear at 23-24 kmh speed. Try to keep a constant speed, ride in possible higher gear and avoid unnecessary braking and downshifting.
Shifting up at the rpm where maximum torque is produced is in racing. More than that, Gixxer produces maximum torque at 6000 rpm; not at 6500.

Thanks buddy... My one way commute to office is around 44 kms of which 25kms on highways.... I like to rev up & shift gears to bring the Rossi out of me.. Juz a pleasure

Got your point... But most of all my consistent speeds are 80 - 90 kmph in 5th gear...

Hard to keep the Gixxer in 50 - 60 Kmph

If I were to ride it in that speeds then mileage will sure be in 50's...

If well maintained and sanely ridden on highways with less traffic, around 60 kml. In city rides with frequent gear shifting and stop and go, the FE will surely be less.
And if anybody try to check FE, do it with at least 300 ml of fuel in a jar used for it. It is available at the SC.

OT: seems like an off road helmet! BTW did you consider ECE and DOT standard helmets? Those are the standards for Europe and America in that order. Not sure about how good our ISI certified helmets are. STUDDS have DOT certified helmets as far as I know.

Though the guys at suzuki showroom told me that it's Non-O

Yes it is off road... Motocross type... I thought a lil shade would be better... When it comes to Helmets am the dumbest Tried to read the thread, but didn't get a hang of it.. Anyways had been using a Vega helmet for the last 8 yrs.. So in that regard I chose this new one..

While I Ride at 45-55 Consistent I am getting around 42-44kmpl before First service.

I like Gixxer's appearance. It looks somewhat like BMW bikes.

Guys. Has anyone tried cornering with this? I am scared that the leg guard might get in contact with the road and i might slip. Will it or is it just my assumption?

I am sorry, friend. In fact there is something wrong in your riding style; I doubt. Do a mileage test at 55-60 kmh speed i.e. between 4000-4500 rpm, avoiding unnecessary down shifting and braking.
