There is a reason for Min and Max marked on the engine case/engine oil inspection window by the manufacturer. Not exceeding the recommended oil level is always sensible.

i'd request others also, to do some research/study the consequences of overfilling engine oil. Filling the correct level of oil is one of most ignored things.

If you still choose to overfill, it is totally up to him/her and I'd wish good luck.

    Am using motul 7100
Not everyone I think, folks who feel following manual to be sensible follow the same.

By level mark did you mean Low mark? if yes, then it is absolutely safe, just ensure the oil level does not fall below Low/Min mark and additionally you would need to top it up as early as possible to the Max mark on the engine oil inspection window. Please follow the instructions specified in the manual for the correct way of checking the oil level.

Semi Synthetic oil best suits to bikes like Gixxer, if you wish, you could switch to SS oil on the next oil change. one of the many SS oil you could try is Shell AX7 10w40.

    Cheers

Would like to see you do some research on this and check which practice is not the right one.

As I said earlier, pouring less gives you room for top up if required.

15k Kms is rather early and/or you have been lucky so far.

Finally, your understanding on excess oil usage not being a cause of oil seals and gaskets failures is wrong my friend. Again some research helps.

      Cheers
I have done enough research. 1Liter oil with a filter change brings it upto exactly the MAX mark not over it. Also theres no point in under-filling it. Why do you want to keep extra room for top up? Its never a good idea to mix used engine oil already inside the engine with new topup oil. 50ml over 950 is not a big deal. If you think that the extra 50ml is going to do any damage, I would like to see evidence (in a GSX150 ofcourse)

And 15k kms is not early, but then if it helps, my colleague has done 40k kms on his Gixxer and he does the same thing I do. He has done Leh Ladakh and Spiti valley trips as well and so far his bike is perfectly fine.

I will choose his experience over your opinion in such a situation.

      Cheers!

P.S: Tell you what, why dont you call up Suzuki and ask them why they did not recommend 1000ml and tell us their answer. It would be very useful for everyone here. Also while you are at it please ask them if it's recommended to use Shell AX7 as you mentioned since that oil is not on their recommended oil list

Hi guys, I bought the new Bs4 gixxer yesterday hoping that it's a no headache bike. Sold off my 5 months old aprilia sr150 due to unbearable list of problems.
I have a Triumph Daytona for my weekend rides. Gixxer is strictly for office commute and city roundabouts. I'm taking the delivery of my red gixxer today.

I chose gixxer primarily because of the trust I have in Suzuki. I was deciding between gixxer and unicorn, but I found gixxer to be extreme fun to ride in the city. My riding style is inclined towards the sporty side and I like to keep the revs up. Also I found the gixxer gearbox to be best suited for cluthless upshifts and downshifts.

Please tell me about the things to keep an eye on. Are there any niggles in the gixxer that I have to be aware of?

              1. GSX-150's gearbox stays hard, if you are not wearing boots it will be Super Cringy while shifting.
              2. Clutchless downshift? I wouldnt go that far
              3. My Bike has misalignment issues that I have observed in all gixxers but others might not have bothered to check. Look for rear swingarm deviation, front fairing deviation and fork-handlebar alignment. I dint look for them during PDI but they became apparent to me as I racked up miles on it. Currently working to get them sorted out.

The test ride bike was fairly old and the gearshifts worked fine. Maybe proper chain maintenance and good engine oil will keep the shifts smooth.
Will definitely do a thorough pdi myself.

hard gear shift is present after one year of ownership, u may get used to it. but can't do anything about the hard gearshifts

Yes. Will definitely do that. BTW, gixxer red is brighter than daytona red.

I found a solution to the hard gearshifts problem. I noticed that the clutch release/engage point set by the factory is wrong. I put the bike on main stand, shifted to 1st and engaged the clutch. The wheel kept rotating on 1st gear even when the clutch was engaged. This is bad for the gearbox. I reset the release point now and the wheel rotates only when I release the clutch. Just out of curiosity I went and checked a few other gixxers in the Showroom and they all had the same issue. Factory clutch setting is messed up. Now after the proper setting of clutch release point, I can barely feel the shifts. It's butter smooth.

Precisely the reason why I didnt go for the red. Its a diluted red rather than a concentrated red.

That is not the only factory thing that is messed up. Check the swingarm alignment. Dont take the rear fender as reference instead use the brake light. Since you own the Naked version, you dont have to bother about the front fairing alignment.

Checked it. That seems to be fine. One more thing I noticed is that the low beam doesn't exactly fall on the road. Beam throw is wasted. High beam points the sky lol
