Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
This is mainly cuz off badly adjusted clutch cable and gear lever position from the factory. Put the bike on main stand, engage the clutch in first gear and check if the rear wheel is rotating even when you haven't released the clutch. Adjust the cable to a point where the wheel rotates only when you release the clutch. I noticed this problem in all gixxers when I took delivery. This is the reason for hard gearshifts as well. It will eat away the gearbox over a period of time.Originally posted by sai2610 View PostIs anyone facing false neutral issue in gixxer 2017 models? Is it necessary to get it fixed?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
This morning, two mechanics from suzuki service station picked up my bike. Rs 250 as breakdown pick up charges. One gripe is that I'd get the bike back only day after tomorrow, even that, only tentatively. So yeah, otherwise I'm feeling good about the support I got so far.Originally posted by Jith_in View PostEngine will start when the leakage stops. It needs a certain level of fuel on float bowl to mix with air. Remove the carb and open float bowl which is the under part. There is a valve which controls fuel flow to the carb namely float valve which may be stuck and need cleaning or replacement. Thats it! This usually happens due to gummy or old fuel.

Hei,,
This is ma first post in the forum and i purchased a SF Moto gp edition on march31st, bs3 model.
The OTR came to only 87k in bangalore as i bargained a lot and anyway it was bs3.
i have already completed 3k kms on my SF and so far so good~~ no issues
The Gear shift was hard but has been corrected to an extent post 1st service at Aerolox suzuki, mission Road, Bengaluru.
Sometimes the gear goes to N instead of 2nd gear, but i dont know if i m not pulling gear stick harder. some pics attached as well

PS: CAn some one tell me how to delete images already uploaded ?Best wishes and regards,

Haven't heard from them since morning. If they don't call me this evening, I'm going to ring them up tomorrow morning at least to know what went wrong in my bike.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
That is actually a pretty bad mindset. FI systems are not as fragile as you think. They are not gonna break down every now and then as long as you use proper fuel and maintain a minimum fuel level. Using the excuse of "local mechanics" is also a bad mindset.Originally posted by Ram Kumar Nagaraj View Posti wanted carb as its easier for the mechs
I have the 2016 model SF with carb in it because unfortunately EFI version wasnt available at that time. For My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

I am no henry ford, but i can tell u straight away that the gains of FI model are negligble.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostThat is actually a pretty bad mindset. I am ok living with not having slightly higher fuel efficiency and crispier throttle response that FI offers.
Can u share how will a FI behave on hi altitudes like leh, munnar etc? Surely, u cant change the AFR mixture on an FIBest wishes and regards,

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
You aren't even supposed to do that with FI bikes in first place, that's the major idea. *facepalm*Originally posted by Ram Kumar Nagaraj View PostCan u share how will a FI behave on hi altitudes like leh, munnar etc? Surely, u cant change the AFR mixture on an FI
Regarding performance of modern day FI equipped bikes in high altitudes, just look at how well the KTMs are performing in Leh-Ladakh, up to a level of domination over REs. While with carb bikes there, you know the drill.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
REQUEST: To all the Gixxer owners reading this, can you do a small measurement for me please. Can you measure the length from the Tip of the tail light to the tips of the adjuster screws at teh end of both the swingarms and see whether the length is the same on both sides or not.
Those are sufficient reasons to opt for FI considering you purchased a motorcycle in the budget commuting range.Originally posted by Ram Kumar Nagaraj View PostI am ok living with not having slightly higher fuel efficiency and crispier throttle response that FI offers.
Assuming you plan on taking this motorcycle to those locations when infact it wasnt built for that terrain, I dont find it relevant enough to answer this question.Originally posted by Ram Kumar Nagaraj View PostCan u share how will a FI behave on hi altitudes like leh, munnar etc? However I will let you know this. You can read up articles on how an EFI auto-regulates AF mixture based on data it collects from Sensors across various locations inside the motorcycle.
I dont know for certain whether it has an Electronic or Mechanical FI, but it is said that it collects data from 6 sensors in which case it would seem as if it has an EFI and that opens possibilities for Fuel Remapping via the ECU. However I havent seen or heard any FI owners get this done yet.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Thanks a lot mate , yes I do plan to take it to Leh. I'm anti Re/anti bullet and anti avenger as well, so this gixxer sf was really my only choice .Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostREQUEST: To all the Gixxer owners reading this, can you do a small measurement for me please. Well I'm happy with carb, that's what matters really . Not to mention getting it at 87k OTR Bangalore for dual disc MotoGP blue,so that's a steal imho.Originally posted by PrinceCruise View PostYou aren't even supposed to do that with FI bikes in first place, that's the major idea. *facepalm*

Btw , imagine your Fi breaking down in some godforsaken area like Leh , you might as well ship the bike back home

Cool, keep us posted on your plans. Also please do make the measurement as I requested in my previous post. You can take this bike to ladakh easily. No problem. Other bikes you mentioned can also be taken to ladakh, Avenger being a bit more comfortable and laid back.Originally posted by Ram Kumar Nagaraj View PostThanks a lot mate , yes I do plan to take it to Leh. Yes, don't compare, just keep riding. Nobody actually cares.
I bought my naked gixxer for 87 k on road chennai in 2015. How is this possible? Do you mean 97k?

Called the service station yday. The manager picked up and told me that my bike will be diagnosed only this afternoon or evening and I'll receive a call. I needn't worry it seems from whatever he spoke. If the bike starts by just solving this problem, I can take it tomorrow or else it has to go for a full servicing. Actually it's time for full servicing but I still want to postpone. Any new problem that crops up will need individual attention and individual repair charges add up to be more. So it's either this problem getting solved or a full service overall.
