Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
This is the exact reason why I don't prefer leaving my bike for service. They screw up things which are perfectly normalOriginally posted by Shashank K R View PostThe product is good[emoji12].
Only things I would wish to be improved-
1. The front mudguard is too short and throws mud and water into the engine and my pants. It would be nice if there was an extension like the ones on the KTMs.
2. Seats need better padding.
3. The clutch free play setting is wrong is from the factory itself. The SVCs don't correct this during service. As a result, many complain of hard gearshifts as there is no free play in the clutch lever at all.
4. A bigger pillion seat.
About the SVCs-
1. The one I go to (Aryan Suzuki, Domlur - Bengaluru) do basic jobs well. Anything more, and they won't do it, like if we complain about excessive noise from the tappets.
2. They are more than happy to lean out the AFR (carb setting) if we complain about mileage.
3. Delivery experience wasn't good.
4. Very few service centres, and they're quite far apart.
5. They sometimes screw up the bike. Eg. not pouring fresh oil after draining old oil, not tightening the drain bolt, etc.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi all,
I need a little help with loading my normal backpack onto the bike.
If I place it on the tank between my thighs, it eventually slips. I had plans of tying the backpack's top hanger with a bungee chord or cycle lock to the handlebar, but again it seems to rest on my thighs and whenever I move, it moves along and falls to a side.
Using the same bungee chord, I tried to tie the backpack to the rear seat, but the bungee chord wouldn't go a full round.
I don't want a tank bag or saddle bag just for this purpose. I've seen that tank bag is a good alternative but the dimensions are such that I can't keep my laptop or larger books in it. Since gixxer's tank is fibre, I don't wanna use the tank bag with straps as I have to untie and tie them back everytime. Magnetic tank bags are not possible obviously.
Please share photos or videos of how you load your daily backpack onto the bike in the easiest way possible.
I'm tired of carrying the backpack on my shoulders and getting down to work or meeting people with sweat all over my back. Chennai weather is humid and I can't help but go towards convenience.Last edited by srinath2494; 06-13-2017, 10:06 PM.

You will need to do a Jugad with the backpack and mount it on the rear seat somehow. If you are sweating a lot with the backpack on, do something with your clothing then. Keep an extra set maybe?Originally posted by srinath2494 View PostI don't want a tank bag or saddle bag just for this purpose. Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Okay so found a claw like bungee chord on youtube. The user mounts it on his gixxer sf rear seat and looks like an easy fit. But his backpack is small whereas mine holds a 15 inch laptop. That's the only problem.Originally posted by MotoBlizzard View PostYou will need to do a Jugad with the backpack and mount it on the rear seat somehow. Getting an extra set daily is just an additional work. Ofc I do make sure I'm well aerated and clean when I get into work but still there are marks and a heavy drenchy feeling. I do use riding jackets but not daily because it roasts me from inside. I hope monsoon sets in and it rains in a relaxed flood-less way this year. That's my only hope to get the temperatures down.
Here's the video if it helps others too
Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.
Thanks for the idea. I do not want a separate pillion seat bag like I've mentioned before. I want to continue to use my backpack.Originally posted by presidency View PostTry aliexpress.com n search tank/pilliom seat bags. Theres wide range of those.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I don't see what's so complicated in mounting a backpack on the rear seat using a bungee! I use a bungee to mount my backpack (that carries a 15inch laptop) which is packed to the gills on my duke 200. Used it on many trips and never had an issue.Originally posted by srinath2494 View PostOkay so found a claw like bungee chord on youtube. Get yourself good quality bungee cords (preferably the ones with plastic hooks or maybe even that X type one shown in the video). The gixxer seems to have enough anchoring points and shouldn't be a problem.
Whether you need to secure a tent, sleeping bag, or other gear, our bungees and tie-downs come in various lengths to ensure a secure fit for any item you need to transport.
Maybe meet up with someone from the chennai xbhp group and probably they can help you mount the bag.

Do you have the 4 feet or 5 feet one?Originally posted by s1d View PostI don't see what's so complicated in mounting a backpack on the rear seat using a bungee! The x-shaped double bungee chord may work on my gixxer. I'm not worried about the mounting point but the backpack pops out of the seat and my bungee chord's clamps broke out when I pulled them to tie.

probably is the 4ft one.
get good quality ones.. i picked up one from bikeopedia in hyderabad. it has solid plastic hooks, like this one https://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...646721691.html
it's a flat strap and very good quality. doesn't cause any scratches at the mounting points. in fact one mount point for my bungee is the rear indicator! though don't try this on your gixxer.. the indicator might snap off. I wrap the cord around twice and loop it thru the grab rails.
A little bit of the bag will pop out, but no issues. it will be secure enough and not fall off or move around.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I hope your issue is resolved by now, even I faced the similar issue after my 1st servicing. The fix for this issue was changing the drain bolt's washer ring. That fixed the leak for me.Originally posted by HeManu Yeluri View PostHi All,
Engine oil is leaking since 2 months, even after servicing also same issue. any help what would be the cause?

Vibration at a particular RPM - Suzuki Gixxer
Hi Guys,
I am facing a vibration that extends throughout the bike including footpegs at 3k rpm in almost all the gears except first and second. And this is only at that particular rpm, not there below or above it. It's strange, any help regarding this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
