Check for the following:
1. Scratches on the bike. In and out.
2. ODO meter reading less than 10km.
3. Engine oil, brake oil levels.
4. If you have opted for teflon coating, then double check if its done.
5. Check the brakes, accelerator play and clutch play.
6. Most importantly check if all the documents are perfect. At the time of purchase, this includes insurance papers(all the pages and forms), vehicle invoice, statement of account including all accessories break up and details, delivery note, extended warranty booklet if you have applied for, user manual, a duplicate key and all free service coupons sealed by the dealer.
7. Check for proper working of the instrument console, switchgears. Focus on the gear shift indicator before you take the delivery.
8. Check if the engine is free revving, slowly and gradually.
9. Fill petrol asap after taking the delivery.
10. Some showrooms don't do the stickering on number plates. So check if its done or get it done immediately outside. You don't want to be stopped by cops on the very first day.
11. Check if all the lights, indicators and electricals are fine.
12. Cross check the engine and chassis number once again although they do it. Check if the bike is a new one. Anyway after registration you can't change it and mostly they would give you one from the lot manufactured after May.
13. Check if all the accessories you have opted for are fitted and proper break up of cost is provided for the same.
The bike's suspension is perfect for everyday use and the view is relative. Maybe the rider you spoke with used a bike with softer suspensions. It seems to be adequate and can even ride on bad roads. I find this one plush compared to my older ride. Yes, you need to slow down considerably to avoid scraping the belly of the bike on speed breakers if you are with a pillion. But that's inherently a problem with the bike and only the company can provide a solution. You can set the suspension depending on your preference later on, if you find the factory settings tight. And only the rear suspension can be changed.
Thank you Sir.
Took delivery of the bike today. Will receive the registration number tomorrow.
Light focus needs to be corrected.
We filled 2.86 litres of petrol immediately after taking delivery (half litre was already in the tank as per SC guys) and still the petrol meter was blinking. !!!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
The weather has been weird in Bangalore for all of summer this year, random rains(which is good to live but bad to ride) and heard about random rains in chennai too! Our naked bike isn't helping either with just a hint of rain and the bike turning into one dirty mess.Originally posted by srinath2494 View Post
Thambi mostly :P what's your age? :P Anyway, if that's the case make your trips on those days when the sky's clear. No need for lubing then. If you wish to have fun in rain, then carry one. I find too many riders concerned about lubing chain now and then for no reason. I feel the manual can be followed for the same.
Inside Chennai, errmmm...the weather is so unsure :P you can get a lube once you reach the place and after checking the condition of the chain.
If I were you, I would do this. If the bike is in good condition, I would ride it to Chennai and check if the chain needs lubing. Once the work is done here, before starting back to Bangalore, I would again Check and go about to ride if the chain is fine. And again, after reaching Bangalore, I would check it. You see, if not 700 or 800 km at one go, the lube can withstand 300-400km at once! I hope service centres can help in lubing. We don't have to carry a bottle all the way. Both Chennai and Bangalore have good service networks.
Planning to leave tomorrow, depending on how the weather holds up. Let's see.

If you just purchased your Gixxer, it is normal that you feel this as your body has to get used to the new sitting posture especially if you are coming from a different bike! I had pain in both my wrists initially for a couple of weeks or so and once I got used to the new sitting posture it I don't feel so anymore.Originally posted by blitzz577 View PostHi
Anyone feeling pain in palm after prolonged rides? I feel pain in my right hand after about 10km ride.. If its about getting used to the handlebars and seating position I should experience pain in both the hands (or) is it simply because of twisting accelerator I am feeling more pain in right hand? Also I feel the Handlebar is straight.. Any suggestions?
Also, try and find a sitting posture that suits you. The more you sit at the front edge of the seats, the more upright you can sit if that works for you.Owns a baby Gixxer starting Jan '15

Thambi any photos ?Originally posted by srinath2494 View PostThis could be off topic but I couldn't resist but share the excitement
Today I got to see a GSXR-1000 in person and wow it was out of the world :O :O It looks massive and heavy in reality! I heard from the person who ordered it that it produces roughly 158 HP of power to the rear wheel*. WOW :O it had really fat 190 size rear tyre which is bigger than most of the car tyres! This is the first time I came face to face with a superbike and it was extremely fascinating! I think having some relatives working in customs would probably help in seeing more and more superbikes [emoji14] [emoji14] I felt it could weighed lesser though.
*maybe less or more? I am just going by the owner's views.

I wish I had taken plenty of photos. Or even ridden it! But you got to be there and see that, and you realise you forgot you had a mobile camera in your pocket :O I was in customs office premises, sir. All that I could do was just over hear the conversation between the dealer and the customer doing paperwork. I think it will be in Jain's suzuki showroom, Pallavaram, Chennai until it's registered. People residing near the area can get a glimpse of it in the showroom maybe. I will go there if not for my college timings. Its around 7-8 km from my place.
Tamil actor Ajith Kumar is known to import super bikes which my aunt has dealt once. She used to call me during such imports and I didn't have any interest in bikes when I was younger back then. This is the third time I am seeing something exotic after a couple of fighter jets, a rolls royce car import( a famous builder in Chennai imported it. Grey color and it's in Mangesh street T Nagar, Chennai, at present at his office) and now this GSXR in white and blue!Last edited by srinath2494; 06-30-2015, 07:58 PM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Its common. This happens bcoz of friction. That's y there is a hole in the drum for air to flow through to cool it.Originally posted by Jithesh Kt View PostDoes any one facing heating in rear alloy wheels even after small 10km drive ? Or is it common ? I checked my breaks they are not Jamed.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Is there an empty slot? Then the engine guard must be available as an accessory for the bike. I wish your metal sheet looked more in sync with the bike's styling although it serves the purpose now.Originally posted by rockin.pavanr View PostYup, it's a metal sheet!...There is already a empty slot to attach the engine guard!
