In Midnapore they are quoting 650-700 rs.

I don't think Suzuki will want to buy back the rims with drum brake yes you may try outside and probably you will get some cash.. But definitely not enough to bring the total cost down to 5k..

          * Take chain lube with you.
          * Change the engine oil to deal with high temperature and high RPM cruising. In my case I changed my engine oil to Motul 30w50 synthetic oil before the trip. Change the oil filter along with it. Get a spare oil filter and keep it with you (just in case). Do the oil change to synthetic only if you are beyond 5k KM on ODO. Suzuki recommends to use stock engine oil upto 5k KM. If you are on stock engine oil, avoid non stop cruising. I try to take a stop in maximum of every 200km if possible.
          * Check tyre pressures before you start.

I haven't done anything other than this. Changing the engine oil part really helped me well. Thanks to my expert tourer friend . Rest of the check lists are common like helmet, gloves, jacket, bungee ropes..etc. Don't carry your back pack on your shoulder. Ride freely & safely.

Suzuki Gixxer is a excellent machine, it gives confidence to take it to any extend. Happy riding
          Thank you!!

I may go not more than 400kms.

Not to carry back packs in shoulder...then how to carry?

What for bungee ropes? I have no idea about this, eager to know...

          Thank you once again!!

            Hi Guys,
I am new to this website.
            Recently purchased the Gixxer & completed 1st service @ 596Km, 30 days.
The service centre changed the engine oil, oil filter & chain lube as recommended in the manual.
However, on checking the engine oil window, I found that the oil level was above the "F" mark without the engine running, it drops between "F" & L level when the engine is running.
Also the oil is reddish in colour (refer image). I am skeptical that they have just topped the oil. Can any one assist?

Thanks in advance!Click image for larger version

Extended warranty cost will be around 700 only. For me its 690. Raise a complaint in Suzuki website.

Times change bro. But what doesn't change is your soul. Just the same, your bike doesn't change and a new bike can't give you the very same experience of your current bike. Enjoy the moment rather.

Rear Disc is not needed for a 150cc motorcycle. Also getting a disc on rear will result in more wheel lock, making your rear skid. To me, even a drum brake is more than good to keep the rear from skidding. I sometimes hate too much biting power on rear and make me scary.

                  Google for bungee rope.

I didn't know Motul has 30w50 in synthetic offering. What series was it, 7100 or 300v?
That said 30w50 major overkill on engine; Motul 7100 10w40 would've sufficed.

                    Oil level is fine.
But, I'm skeptic about the engine oil too as you don't share oil-colour photo before oil-change.

I think the oil is fine..it does not look like a topup.. but the oil used is different from stock oil..may be it is an idimitsu 20w40 suzuki genuine oil.. you will face cold starting trouble, low mileage, less engine smoothness and oil will dirty too early.. but it have a benefit...in long runs engine temperature will be less when comparing with stock...writing from the light of my experience of that oil in gixxer.

When I bought the motorcycle it was light yellowish in colour. It turned dark over time. If the default colour of Suzuki recommended Motul 10W-40 oil is reddish, then it is fine. Is any one aware of the fresh oil colour of Suzuki recommended Motul 10W-40?

Or should I go & ask the service centre for a replacement as on the service invoice they have mentioned as Motul 10W-40 only...

Gixxer's Valve System is SOHC, 2 Valve.

And that FZ v2.0's rear mudguard/tyre-hugger is fugly if you ask me.
