O it has been 750kms my engine oil got changed only during the first service @800km do i have to change engine oil now? how about engine oil filter???i found engine oil filter in swish125 it need to change every time when you change engine oil!! does Gixxer need to change every time??? now in telanagana specially in my area temepratures are hitting up to 50 degrees..i feel my feets are frying even for short ride .is there any good engine oil that can be used alter to MOTUL that filled IN SVC ???Now the engine seems bit harsh i feel like the BASSSSSSSSYYY sound is gone ?!!!(is this just my imagination??)i ride normal did breakin period under 4.5kRPM and now Im going up to 6.5kRPM and ODO is around 1550km does it makes engine stress ???as per manual after 1000km to Till next 1600kM you can go up to 7.5k RPM???!!

Does tuning the carb cause vibes in the bike? In the last servicing, which was some odd 250-300kms ago, the carb was tuned to leaner. The bike is at 7000kms on the odo. Now I am feeling some vibes around 6000rpm. It wasn't so earlier.
One thing I've noticed in the Gixxer is that when there is very little fuel in the tank i.e. about 1bar, the pick-up reduces, the sound is a bit harsher(might be due to accoustics of an empty tank :P ) and the vibes are a bit prominent. This is, however, in comparison to the actual refined performance of the bike.

Why would you do that, i.e. make the afr lean ?

This has adverse effect on the engine in the long run. On the outside, the vibs will increase, the engine will heat up really fast etc etc.
The the carb tune properly, neither rich nor lean.

          Ride safe and have fun.

            Hi sumanth

I think you don't need to change the oil now @ 800 kms. You can change it once you reach 1.5k kms & change the oil filter too it costs only Rs.30. Since urs is new & not completed d 2nd service, I suggest you fill only company recommended motul till 4th service then after ur choice. You can try 7.5k RPM occasionally. But maintain 4.5k rpm for shorter travel.

It was done by the SVC technician to improve efficiency. There is no heating issue though, even in long runs during peak heat hours. The pickup difference is also negligible. So I guess it was a minimal adjustment.

Thanks for the concern. I'll check the mileage figures and if it is more than 52-55 I'll tune it richer.

Hey this is Amey and this is my experience with my sweet babe. This is my first bike so was really confused regarding buying one. As being surrounded by BAJAJ'S from childhood the first suggestions were to get a BAJAJ, I personally hate them. Next came my favourite the YAMAHA but was really disappointed by the recent launces. So just one evening returning from work saw a grey GIXXER n I was like what's the name? Reached home googled it n I was in heaven the power figures only made me feel good about it. 4 th of Jan was the day when I booked the gixxer after my parents saw it on the net. It took almost a month for the delivery and 31 St Jan was the day when I got the delivery. The guys at the showroom were cleaning the bike but I was impatient , the formalities took hardly 10 mins but I was on my toes. Took the bike home MOM n dad saw it checked it out.
Now that I've completed 2000kms n I've loved riding it. Top speed achieved was 120 kmph. But a friend of mine who reviews bike for motorbeam said he reached 131(speedo indicated ).mileage was never an issue as I never bought it for mileage. The bike's gr8 everywhere I go, where ever I park it I've got people staring at it. People keep asking me about it , the performance, the price, and then the gr8 Indian question "KITNA DETI HAI"? :banghead::banghead:
Lolz haven't taken the bike for a long ride but soon would be going. Here r a few pics....njoy...
                          Please ur eyes......

                          Ty for bearing with me!!!

I have ridden around 500kms with lean tuning and I faced increased engine noise, less acceleration esp. with pillion, need to change gears too often(bike is not able to pull from 20kmph in 3rd gear easily) and harshness(Mileage was 49kmpl).
Yesterday I have retuned my carb and there is a world of difference with engine behavior. I can pull from 35kmph in fifth gear easily, the engine noise is gone, the acceleration is back, the idling stays at a constant ~1200 RPM. It totally feels like a new bike delivered from showroom. From now on, I don't care about mileage because you will loose the feel.

Have you noted this while delivery ? Have u informed ? If not they'll definitely won't accept. Shout them or ask them to replace if they said no to you. Send a complaint from Suzuki motorcycle India site.

And, were you able to really achieve good mileage figures with the lean setting?
                                I guess NO!
