No buddy, no wires were cut. The original connections to the factory horn was plugged into the relay. And the relay to the new horns. The relay is only to connect 2 horns. Relay is a kind of switch.

Yeah buddy, I've been thinking about it ever since I got the bike. Will soon find time to do it. [emoji1]

Have any one driven gixxer to high altitudes of 10 to 12000 ft orabove ? How did it perform at that altitudes with or without pillion ? Planning to go to Leh rohtang on gixxer.

Yesterday got stuck in the nasty rainfall of Bangalore.
Got drenched Left, Right & Centre and this Bike throws lot of Mud & Water.
May be this is the norm but coming from ZMR it really sucks.

        Greatdoc,
Technically nothing would happen but ideally you should not do it.
Since it is clearly mentioned in the manual till 800 kms stick to 4500 RPM.
And this is the Reason stock RPM indicator blinks at 4000 RPM.
Assuming you complete your first servicing around 800 Kms it works fine.

        Habshan,
Would you mind sharing the Cost of Hella since Dual Horns are a necessity.
Also how did you fit the other side since the clamp of stock horn is only single sided.
Where is the position or location of the Relay?
34567 kms and ZMR sold :(

The MRP seems to be 845 and the relay costs 100, however I bought it both for 600 in Mangalore.

About the second horn, there is a bolt on the other side of the stock horn, got it fixed there. The relay was fixed with a cable tie. You could tie it wherever convenient [emoji1] .

              So that's 12v * 3Ah = 36 Watt hours.

If a 144 Watts horn works for 1 hour, it will consume 144 Wh.

So for 1 min, 2.4 Wh
              1 second, 0.04 Wh.

So unless the horn is operated for 15 mins continuously, no issues.

Disclaimer: I don't guarantee this calculation is 100% correct.

              Calculation looks good
As you told it shouldn't be a problem unless we use the horn too frequently.

Got my blue gixxer today....but i have noticed that the choke does not work and there is more than 30mm slack in the chain.....what should i do
should i wait for the first servicing as advice by the service manager or pressurize him to finish the work ASAP....also planning to get the engine oil changed after 100 km...??

Need help with the choke issue( as it is summer season don't require it as of now)...slack is some what manageable as i am not feeling any loss of power till 4000 to 4500 rpm...???

                  Congrats for your new gixxy.

Choke is working but not very effectively since our bike comes TPS so there won't be any serious starting issues unless u alter something in carb. I advice not to adjust chain slack in the initial itself. Also don't change the oil immediately.. May be u can postpone to 500 or in the 1st service @750kms.

Also there is no way to adjust the choke. I don't find any nut to tight & the wire directly goes to carb.

Guys need help/suggestion on how to maintain the shine of the bike as well as the tyres. I want a DIY procedure. Does Teflon coating help to maintain the shine. I own a Black Gixxer. Would washing the bike with some WAX help. Thanks

Get a bungee cord of something of that sort and plug it one end on your disc brake and other end on your clutch, so that you remember to take it off.

                          Cheers !

I think Spiral chord would be better idea ,I have seen that thing on you tube but in India's context that not a very workable idea given the curious/nuisance nature of people out in street checking out any new thing & carrying it with them as a souvenir even if its of no use for them .

Yea exactly. Or you could keep something as a reminder. Like you could turn down a side mirror or something. [emoji1]

Change the disk lock position. I mean keep the lock close to that break block thing( donno the name) hence the bike wont move much when you are pulling out or pushing in from parking slot. Suppose when you came back,if you have to pull the bike backwards, then keep the lock in a position where it block the backward movement. so u will remember it is locked.
