and also some time's i feel bike is choking and and getting out of breath when i change gears. is it common or something in my bike.?
Then its ok.. 1 thing you do.. at night.. in a dark surrounding check if the headlight beams straight or not.. if beams slightly left or right then the handle is bent..

Choking while changing gears?? You mean the engine knocks?? If that happens you probably must downshift...

headlight not being straight means headlight bracket(either right or left) is bent. Not because of handlebar :/ Headlight bracket is present in the headlamp assembly which get affected during a crash or improper fixing. Handlebar bend can be found this way.

sit on the bike and completely turn the handlebar to left and right. See the gap between the handlebar and the tank on both the sides. If you notice some gap wider or narrower than usual, then that side can be taken to be bent. But the best way is to consult the SVC or mechanic right away and they will know to fix it immediately.

My friend had a handle bar bend problem on his gixxer after a crash. The SVC gave him 2 options. Either buy new handlebar for 700RS(or 400RS, not sure about the rate) or they would take the bend and make it normal. He opted for the bend removal and got it done since the bend was minor.

Ok so i have a query guys..

I rode my bike at 91 and 92 kmph on two occasions only before my 1st servicing... i know i shouldn't have done that but i couldn't resist.. and sometimes i rode at 5k rpm...at 65-70..

Will it do any harm to the engine?

It does more good to your engine than bad. Only thing is that keep varying the rpm. If the rpm was constant while riding at 90 for longer than 5 minutes, then glazing might occur.

              Hi all,

I'm looking to get this bike but need some info from people who know.

Does anyone know the maximum payload for this bike? It's just that I weigh 85 and my brother weighs 90 and I definitely can't go with him on my Honda Aviator. Will this bike take our occasional in-city meanderings?

              Cheers,

              Nandan

Yeah I have checked everything just to confirm the mistake is not on my side! I can hardly say any difference in city riding conditions as the speeds are consistently around 60 kmph or lesser most of the times plus the roads are not of highway quality(Bangalore roads :P). They are slightly uneven within the city which makes the wobbling hard to notice.

Work keeps me busy so haven't taken her on a ride again to a highway ride after the fix they did after my complaint! Apart from this, the bike has become silky smooth after 2nd service. I just hope this issue gets sorted out and the mileage remains the same for me (around 50 to 53 so far)

No not constant..as soon i reached 92..i stoped accelerating..and came to slowly came to halt..

Fret not. Nobody rides with a pillion keeping the payload in mind. Higher bikes in 180 to 200cc segments itself have a defined payload of 120-140kg by the manufacturers. But nobody follows it, brother. This bike will pull your load easily or even a heavier load! get this bike if you want a smooth and balanced ride and if power is not your criterion. I had this inhibition of not taking a pillion heavier than the mentioned payload when I got my first bike :P So don't worry. The bike will be robust.

And regarding the aviator, trust me that scooter can pull too. I have seen a 102kg and a 85kg rider on an activa on doubles. That activa was this 100cc model released first with metal body and all :P the scooter itself was heavy due to that. But it cruised at 70-80 kmph for hours together with both of them on it, negotiating bridges and subways :P Inside the city, aviator is still better :P no gear, so easy to disappear :P

If thats the case, then get the handlebar checked! don't let the SVC to make you pay for the headlamp assembly!

                      Hi Buddy,
Which part of Bangalore you stay and commute at which time.
Looks the figure of 50 kmpl is insane to me
Lucky you and you must ride with real sanity.
Getting around 40 kmpl although not yet 1000 kms.
34567 kms and ZMR sold :(

Is anyone's engine kill switch become fade. Mine is 4 months old & it looks fade. Poor plastic quality I think so.

Has anyone tried lowering the monoshock level to 2 ( 3 is default i guess). How does it feel?. Because the road i travel is a lunar landscape with multiple craters and potholes . The firm suspension is hurting my back a lot. Will a softer suspension affecting the stability of the bike?

I live in Hennur, on the outer ring road. I hate travelling inside the city. My commute is mostly during off peak hours on the outer ring road to work. I try and keep the speed around 50ish depending on traffic and 70 to 80 on empty roads. I followed the initial break in religiously but now I am not careful like how I used to be before first service.

Need to do a proper long trip to find the rough ride mileage. I am still expecting 45+ if I do that. I never rev my engine when I cold start in the morning, just give it 10 to 20 seconds of idling time after the start and just pull away gently. Always try and shift gears around the 4000 rpm or max 4500 rpm mark. Switch off the bike at all traffic signals with countdowns more than 20 seconds. Also have filled up petrol at the same Shell petrol bunk ever since I purchased the bike.

Hey Gixxer black users, did you feel that black is fading terribly after few months of usage ? I saw one guy in WhatsApp group Kerala saying that SC guys told him that Suzuki might recall a batch of black Gixxer due to overwhelming compalints from users.
