Took delivery of my white Gixxer today! Over the moon, to say the least. Just want to keep staring at it.
    A few points I noted:
    1) Engine refinement is lovely.
    2) Build quality is excellent...switchgear seems to have improved a bit after the early batches. The rest of the parts, of course, have always been top-notch.
    3) No signs of rust whatsoever...this too seems to have been a problem only in some early bikes. Plus, I think my bike is 2015-manufactured, as that\'s what they have entered in the insurance.
    4)Looks bloody amazing in white!!
    5) Gearbox is very precise, if very slightly notchy. I\'m sure it will smoothen out with more kms on the odo. Anyway, no problems at all if you are positive with the shifts-they slot in with a nice click.
    6) Disc brake has excellent feel and progression, so it inspires confidence, but it certainly lacks some initial bite. I\'d like fellow Gixxer owners\' opinion on this.

It is not manufactured in 2015 but registered in 2015. Beautiful bike man. Congrats

Thanks! I said 2015 because it\'s written specifically \'year of manufacture\' in the insurance papers. But you could be right. Anyway, it doesn\'t matter much.
I wanted to keep the bike in virgin condition for a day at least, but I really wish to remove the damn saree guard! Stupid govt regulation. No lady\'s going to be able to sit sideways on this :P! Also, has anybody removed the lower part of the rear mudguard? I\'m sure it will improve the already stunning-looking rear.

Congrats mate. Gixxer is a lovely bike and perhaps answer to almost all the bikers who are targetting a 125-200cc segment at <1L price tag.

Answer 6 : It will take time for the disc and pads to set. A little lag of initial bite/feel is ok for first few kms, which could be anything from 50-200 kms. I test rode the showroom Gixxer and trust me, the brake is much better than the one on my Duke 200. Give it time and it will settle nicely.

Suggestion : You are using chain to well, chain the bike. Don\'t use the bare metal chain, especially on the rims. They will peel off the paint and leave a nasty scare of the otherwise beautiful bike. If possible, try to wrap the chain in cycle tube rubber or high strength yet soft cloth.

Now the bike is doing 119kmph max and 125kmph(slopes) I am getting mileage of 46kmpl.

I changed the oil myself at 500kms and again at 1000kms.
For testing purposes you can rev past 4500, but I don\\\\\\\'t suggest you do this repeatedly.
Which problem did you face with the carburetor? And why couldn\'t your bike go beyond 106kmph? What were the reasons the service centre personnel gave you for these problems? Could you elaborate bro?

Right, I already did that as the same thought struck me immediately after taking the photos. Have put a cloth there now. Thanks for your vigilant suggestion anyway!!

By the way, better brakes than a KTM is quite a statement to make!! If they really are that good, I\'m even gladder that I chose this bike.

                    Yeah sure why not.
The blue & grey colours are best matched ones which gels well with the gixxer styling after a lot of confusion regarding the choosing of colour in between blue & grey finally opted for blue.

Great choice of bike and colour, dude! I, too, was confused over white or blue.
If I may ask, since you currently ride a Pulsar 220, isn\'t a 150 now a step down in terms of performance? Any special reason you chose the Gixxer?

I bought the 220 four years ago that is while iam pursuing my PG presently doing job & my daily travel distance is around 70kms so i felt that 220 is not that much practical for my use.

At the first look of the gixxer on the net i fell in love with its desgin and sleek look belive me as far as looks i love pulsars than any other bike in the market but the gixxer made me completely to hate all the other bikes in the market including my all time favourate pulsars .

& loved its light weight character, engine refinement, acceleration, desgin & specially that smart digi console & twin port exhaust.

Finally after a short test drive i decided to sell my 220 for the following reasons

                          1) Its vey much lighter than the 220.
                          2) vibration free ride even at higher rpms which the 220 lacks
                          3) Engine refinement is far superior than the 220 & its not wise to compare suzuki engine with the bajaj engine.
                          4) More fuel efficient than the 220.
5)The build quality is topnotch & the suzuki engines are known to be robust.
                          6) The handling of this machine is very great specially in traffic which the 220 lacks due to the heavy weight in the front.
                          7) Reliability of the suzuki is far ahead than the bajaj best example i observed is my friends GS150 altough it doesnt succeed well its one of the best 150cc bikes in the indian two wheeler market.
                          8) Forgot about the braking it has a very good stopping power even better than the FZ FI ( as i test drived it on month of the december didnt impressed me well like the gixxer did)

& I dont feel that my decision is a downgrade from the 220 except in engine cc & projector lightning department. I dont even have any interest to touch triple digit speeds any more .

But i will definetly miss the projector lightning which helped me a lot in the night driving for 4 years.
