Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Maximum vehicle speed in a particular gear could vary a bit with conditions. If you are asking with reference to running in a new bike, don\'t exceed 4500 rpm in any gear for the first 1000km.Originally posted by maximsu19 View PostGuys i am feeling a tightness when shifting gear is anything wrong???
and also can u tell the maximum speed for each gears???

Apply some grease to shift-rod joints, see if it makes any difference.Originally posted by maximsu19 View PostGuys i am feeling a tightness when shifting gear is anything wrong???
Well, that depends; does those pulsar bikes allow you to button-start with bike in gear(say 1st or 2nd)?Originally posted by truelypulsarian View PostDuring the self start should we engage the clutch inorder to start the bike?
Didnt seen this type of starting mechanism in my pulsar bikes.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There you have it,Originally posted by truelypulsarian View PostNope but i can start my pulsar in neutral with out the help of the clutch but were as in gixxer even in neutral one has to use clutch to fire the engine.
in your pulsar they made sure that the bike in neutral-gear before bike is started
but in gixxer they made sure the clutch is disengaged
If you ask me gixxer\'s feature is a step up; disengage clutch, start the motorcycle and move ahead, given we park our bikes(gixxer) in 1st or 2nd gear most of the time.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Self-start in gear feature is available in almost all the 150cc\'s, atleast in Uni, Xtreme and Hunk. But they don\'t require the clutch to be engaged when bike in neutral.Originally posted by Freak inExile View PostThere you have it,

In Gixxer, this could be incorporated as a safety measure like in Super bikes.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi Guys , Iam new to this forum (Family).......
I have booked a BLUE GIXXER and it will be delivered by 22.1.2015. Regarding 1st service i have asked the showroom guy about the RPM to be maintained. He said that i can go upto 7000 RPM with no problems at all before first service. He also said that suzuki sets the RPM limit in new bikes to 7000 RPM.But going through this thread i came to know that nobody crossed 4500 RPM limit initially.
But Iam planning to maintain the 4500 RPM limit as guided by this thread.
My question is , did anyone went past the 4500 RPM before 1st service? Does any showroom guy says like this with new bikes?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I did; Infact going above 4500RPM helped me identify that there was problem with my carburetor which the service center replaced.Originally posted by kaarchan14 View PostMy question is , did anyone went past the 4500 RPM before 1st service?
After 900kms I fully opened the throttle and found that I couldn\'t go past 106kmph which the service center again rectified during 1st service.
Now the bike is doing 119kmph max and 125kmph(slopes) I am getting mileage of 46kmpl.
I changed the oil myself at 500kms and again at 1000kms.
For testing purposes you can rev past 4500, but I don\'t suggest you do this repeatedly.

Doesn\'t current generation of Pulsars have this feature?Originally posted by SatSon View PostSelf-start in gear feature is available in almost all the 150cc\\\\\\\'s, atleast in Uni, Xtreme and Hunk. But they don\\\\\\\'t require the clutch to be engaged when bike in neutral.
I wouldn\'t call it a safety-measure but they avoided the headache of implementing it. Anyway it\'s better than finding neutral every-time one want to button-start the motorcycle.Originally posted by SatSon View PostIn Gixxer, this could be incorporated as a safety measure like in Super bikes.
@truelypulsarian
What did you do on your old-pulsar when you stopped at a traffic-red-light with more than 2-minutes on the counter(or in any such hypothetical waiting situations)?
It was needed to find neutral every time, right?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Read the user manual provided with your bike thoroughly, especially re read the sections about running in and maintenance. Follow that manual. If the service personnel give you wrong info, then you will know beforehand. And you can,but you MUST NOT cross 4.5k RPM before first service,if you want the running in procedure to be done properly. Once or twice a day its fine to JUST cross 4.5k RPM and stay within 5.5k RPM,but try your best to not go beyond that.Originally posted by kaarchan14 View PostHi Guys , Iam new to this forum (Family).......

Does any showroom guy says like this with new bikes? You see things vacationing on a motorcycle in a way that is completely different from any other. In a car you're always in a compartment, and because you're used to it you don't realize that through that car window everything you see is just more TV. You're a passive observer and it is all moving by you boringly in a frame. ~Robert Pirsig

I am glad you fixed all your problems in you bike..... Hope mine does not come with any issues and I am getting it delivered by tomorrow evening . Will try to maintain the RPM limit till 1st service. So any last minute tips about what to check in the bike and things to be asked to the service center guy would be much helpful.....
That\\\'s a very high speed your bike is hitting.... Many thanks and safe riding.....

The service center was really friendly, I thought that I would have to NAG them to change the carburetor but they didn\'t even ask a second question and immediately changed it.Originally posted by kaarchan14 View PostI am glad you fixed all your problems in you bike..... No particular tips - one member uploaded the PDI list in excel format in the forum, download it if you want. I cross checked all the documents(all RTO forms, Insurance, Invoice etc) and there was a minor mistake in my name and I rectified it. Thats it.
Do keep the RPM under 4.5K but never ride at constant RPMs - There is an explanation in the manual for this and Congratulations in advance.
