Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
You shouldn't be complaining when shifts are around max-power RPM. Throttle input plays a significant role too. Even with 6th gear GS150R will return same mileage(if not more) figure if ridden between 7-9k RPM.Originally posted by babaji View PostGetting a mileage of 32-33kmpl. I usually shift between 7-9k. Is this normal?
You'll see significant improvement if you shift up around 6,000 RPM, even better mileage if done around 5,000 RPM.Last edited by SparKot; 11-23-2014, 08:52 PM.There is no honest path to prosperity - KoKa

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
you are absolutely right..am waiting for my black gixxer for more than 30 days..still they tells it will take yet another week or moreOriginally posted by toshmine View PostFinally booked black Gixxer. Waiting time minimum 20 days. They say that Suzuki prefers north India market and is supplying less bikes to south India. Anyways earlier the better. Apparently blue is the one most sought after color.

Your bike is fuel injected and every fuel injected engine does that at redline. Its a safety feature to prevent engine seizure or other such mishaps caused by over revving. It causes the bike engine to partially stall so it cannot exceed the rev limit.
What rpm is this happening at and what is the bike's rpm limit?

Suzuki gixxer is not fuel injected. :P It runs on a carb.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
It's simply a mechanism to ensure that the engine doesn't over rev and destroy itself. After certain rpm(in your case, it's the redline), the current to the cdi is stopped to ensure that the rpm is within the safe limits. As long as the engine runs good within its rpm limits, there's nothing to worry about..Originally posted by babaji View PostWhen my bike redlines, the engine feels like its dying. Wow really?!! :O Well that's a serious lack of foresight and lapse in judgement on suzuki's part. In any case that means you got a problem. Tell svc to check air intake and carb jets.

Driving nature: SedateOriginally posted by salil_24 View PostCan you guys describe your driving nature??
Avg. gear shifts: 1 @ 3k, 2 @4k, 3 @5k, 4@6k, max rpm @5th gear is always <5500. The wobbling shows up after this speed.
Current Odo: 820; max speed (only couple of times): 80kmph; avg speed (speeds usually ridden): 65-70kmphOriginally posted by salil_24 View PostHow much is your reading on odo??max speed??avg speed??
Although there are speed-bumps I cross on my daily commute to office, I take slow down (5-15kmph; depending the size of the bump).Originally posted by salil_24 View PostDo u drive rash through pits & bumps frequently?
I noticed that one more person has reported the front wheel wobble issue (apart from elagoas and me).
Update: I have given my bike to the SVC to fix the issue. Will get know what they have done to fix the wobbling issue by evening. All men dream, but not equally.
