The oil leak from the magneto cover will be visible within the first week of ownership. The previous owner of your bike was negligent.Originally posted by cbzee View PostFor My Gixxer Related videos: Click HERE

How about BOSCH?

So I purchased G-Power sparkplug for Gixxer also. I've never tried Iridium, so bought it.
Many say stock plug is the best, but there is no harm trying....

Don't fall for the Teflon coating bluff. A new vehicle already comes with a clear paint protection coat, right form the factory. So all you do is pay 500-700 rs for so called Teflon coat, which is nothing more than wax polish buffed to sine and nothing else. instead of that crap, get yourself a good quality wax polish (Formula 1 brand is good option). A medium sized bottle will last you years and will cost 1/4 the money. Use the wax polish once a month after washing the bike and the paint will be shiny and new for the years to come.
If you really want to get a hard coat, find a genuine brand like 3M, but be advised - it will be really expensive (a few thousand bucks) and may I add, totally un-necessary. A wax polish pack will cost you less than 200 rs and you will have the exact same protection from sun rays and rains. you can use the same polish for metal parts like tank and plastic parts like mudgurads etc.
To prevent rusting keep the bike dry and apply a layer of wax polish on those parts as well, it forms a thin protective layer on the parts and will help prevent rusting. If rusting still starts, use WD40 to clean the rust off and then apply wax. A medium sized can of WD40 will cost you 220 rs and can be used on switchgear to remove rusting and prevent them from malfunctioning due to moisture.
Choose wisely brother.Last edited by Ankey; 07-02-2018, 03:01 PM.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Do you have any video link for how to replace bulb by our own? I do not need the de-soldering/re-soldering part you did, just a basic video for bulb replacement.Originally posted by Dynamo View Post

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi guys,
i have experienced a lock up in my rear drum brake recently. It was happened yesterday for the first time. I put my bike on centre stand and rotated the wheel to make sure its turning freely. applied brake and rotated again to make sure there is no jam. but Today as well, when i start my bike and shift the gear to 1st, the bike was not moving because of locking and the locking goes if i apply brake and release. what could be the culprit and how to rectify the issue?
i am somewhat panic to touch the rear brake because of this issue and it's rainy season here.
One more thing i would like to add, i tried to change the rear brake shoe 2 weeks ago assuming the rear brake shoe needs a replace, with the help of a local mechanic but the brake shoe was in intact condition so suggested me not to change it. he then cleaned the innards of brake shoe chamber and oiled up the cam and refitted the wheel in place. So, is there any chance for the mechanic misfitted anything that causing the lock up ?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Drum brakes of all scooters and motorcycles are very similar, it is very unlikely the mechanic made a mistake. The danger here is not locking up but it won't release. Mostly the reason is the rust+water might have formed a paste to which the brake pads will stick to. Very common in rainy season. Take it to SVC or your local mechanic and open the drum brake again. Clean the lining with brake cleaner or compressed air (NO WD40/Diesel/Kerosene), the pads are new but still rub with fine sand paper and replace both the shoe springs. If your mechanic used oil to lube the cam, it would have ran away with the rain water. Use grease. If you have any other finding, let us know !Originally posted by cbzee View Posti have experienced a lock up in my rear drum brake recently.Last edited by ashwanth.r; 07-17-2018, 10:15 PM.

Will make it a try and let you know. Thanks for your valuable inputs. I am sure the mechanic opened my drum brake last time doesn't know a thing about gixxer. he even misaligned the wheels which was fixed by taking it to SVC.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostDrum brakes of all scooters and motorcycles are very similar, it is very unlikely the mechanic made a mistake.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
i had another observation. Whenever i ride with a pillion, the same thing happens. Apart from that i have observed whenever i ride thruogh a pothole oh humps the same feeling come and goes so assuming if there's a pressure or load in the rear tyre it happens.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostDrum brakes of all scooters and motorcycles are very similar, it is very unlikely the mechanic made a mistake.
