Hi guys i have completed 1yr of my gixxer. Now i want to modify it a little bit. What are some modifications to do? And i have some questions regarding it.
        1. Will it support clip-on handle bars. If yes, does i make any difference? And what do you prefer stock or clip ons?
        2. Are any of you guys using air filters? How about K&N or any other brand. Doing it does any harm to engine. I don't care about millage?
        3. I want to add disk brake to the rare wheel. Is it possible? Let's be honest the rare brake really sucks. My bicycle brake is better than that.

          1. Stick to stock handlebars. They are more comfortable.
          2. Don't use those filters. Stick to stock. KnN lets in more dust into the engine.
          3. You can but it's going to be expensive and you can't say if the difference in braking will be worth the cash you spend. Instead learn the proper technique for braking.

I know how to brake. But the rare brake feels like the brake liners got damaged. when i give to service, it works perfectly for a week, after that i must totally rely on the front brakes, which is dangerous in some cases. When i say this in service center they are saying that, lot of bikes are having this issue and can't help me.
I was just googling and i landed on hydraulic brake section. Does our bike have Hydraulic or Mechanical brakes. My other bike fz has Hydraulic brakes and compared to gixxer it is awesome.

Rear brake can become weak when the brake drum inners smoothen out. Cleaning and Roughening the brake drum (where the brake shoe bites) with sand paper will help in bringing back brake bit to a some extent.
And, rear brakes of both FZ and Gixxer are mechanical.

Two days ago, I replaced the stock Champion plugs with Bosch twin head ones. The stock ones were in good condition and the SVC people insisted on not changing them. But still, as it was about 2 years old, I thought that the replacement was due.

Nevertheless, the problems started right after that.

                1. The bike takes longer press of the starter button for cold starts.

                2. At around 3000-4000 rpm, the engine blips mildly and if I am on lower gears the jerk is significantly observable.

                3. If I hold the throttle constant between 3000-4000 rpm, there are slight pops from the exhaust.

On the other side, performance at higher rpms have improved a bit.

And opinion about the cause and solution is welcome.

For the problem number 3., I too am getting same throaty 'pop' sound at irregular intervals. It was there from the day i took delivery. My bike is in stock condition. I have also noticed a few Gixxers give out the same sound, while I was at SVC.

Now the issue is, I read somewhere that this can happen if the engine is 'misfiring'. Is everyone else getting this throaty 'pop' sound when u hold ur throttle while in Neutral?

                  Sorry for late reply.

I rode maximum of 500km in a day and cruising speed was around 90-95 kmph. Gixxer holds it really good even for long time. Share your expireince with us
Same here mate. I did around 410 kms in a day and 240 on the next. The top speed I achieved was 114 with a pillion and a backpack. The average cruising speed would have been around 85-95. You can read the whole travelogue here :

                    Guys,
Need your guidance to fix an issue. Recently I have very noticeable and beyond bearable vibration felt from the foot pegs. Handle vibrations are not noticeable and seat vibration is negligible too.

I have narrowed the vibration source to that of engine as the vibrations increase linearly with engine rpm.

                    Looking forward.

Hi guys I am facing a problem. My rear wheel makes a squeaking noise when I rotate it by hand in either direction. I noticed this noise immediately after I got the bike washed. Is it related to the water or is something wrong? I have recorded a video with that sound. How can I upload it here? Is posting links to sites like vid.me allowed??

Check the choke if it is slightly engaged.

Could be due to water entering rear brake drum.
Check if your brake is tight causing wheel to not rotate freely.
If so loosen it, otherwise leave it, the noise should disappear by itself.
