Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I did 550 kms in a day...with breaks every two hours or so... Kept the rpm between 4.5 and 6.... Varying the speed between 60 to 85 kmph.... Occasionally went beyond 90.... No stress... she did fine...Originally posted by Arjun137 View Post

Motorcycles these days can be ridden non-stop @peak-torque-RPM for thousands of kms, it's the humans that tire sooner; beginning with butt pain.Originally posted by Arjun137 View PostHow long continuously we can ride gixxer? without giving stressLast edited by SparKot; 09-25-2016, 01:47 AM.There is no honest path to prosperity - KoKa

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Your owner's manual should state it clearly!Originally posted by shadowrider View Postso guys how do we check the oil level..by keeping the bike on the centre stand and checking the sight glass or after warming it up and then checking?
For Hero bikes, they recommend warming up (idling) for 3 minutes and then check the level using the dipstick.
By warming up, the oil will be circulated into various parts and stick there for some time even after we switch off the engine.
So, this would give a more realistic measure.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
that's what the manual says.tried that way the level is just under f mark..if placed in the centre and checks in the morning its at the f mark.Originally posted by SatSon View PostYour owner's manual should state it clearly!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
In the dipstick method, it should be just that the oil level is between min and max marks. It need not be on the Max mark.Originally posted by shadowrider View Postthat's what the manual says.tried that way the level is just under f mark..if placed in the centre and checks in the morning its at the f mark.
Guess that should apply for your bike too.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hello Friends,
Just a query on Gixxer's monoshock suspension--
Heard abt stock setup is 3 on 7 -
How to alter its setup up & down?
It will be helpful with demo pics & tool to use..
Also help whether the seat/saddle height will get lower if we change setup to 5 or more stiffer?
Thanks in advance....

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hello everyone I'm Rakesh, newbie here.
I was looking for bike that could do a daily commute of 60km everyday.
The following bikes were considered
1. Royal Enfield - Thunderbird, Classic and newly launched Himalayan.
Took TD of all vehicles and I almost went for Thunderbird i really liked the comfort it offered, but there was a waiting period of 2 months so had to look some other options.
2. Honda -
The only bike that liked was Hornet, TD was good but i've already had enough of Honda so went against it.
3. Suzuki-
Well i had Gixxer in my mind, watched lot of comparo's between Honda Hornet and Suzuki Gixxer, all of the comparisons favored Gixxer, took TD of Hornet and Gixxer back to back, I liked Gixxer and booked it on the spot, opted for Suzuki Gixxer SP edition (Naked version).
Pros-
1. Looks, it does good isn't it?
2. Pick up- compared to Hornet it's really good, thanks to low end torque
3. Efficiency- had done 600 odd km's till now, getting around 50-55km
4. Build quality is awesome.
Con's-
Need help in this-
1. Vibrations- Getting vibrations around tank area and right foot peg, is it normal to get vibrations before 1st service??
2. Engine burning smell after continuous riding for about 20-30kms
3. Gears - really hard sometimes, up shifting is easy but downshifting is troublesome.
4. Braking- well the rear disk makes lot of noise, when asked SVC guys says its normal and it will fade away, is it really normal??
