  • Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155

    Hello xbhpians, I just bought the Gixxer SF Special Edition Helmet ( Blue Colour ) ( Size XL ) ( Price Rs. 2199/- ). I live in chennai and bought it from OMS Suzuki in Velachery. And just clicked a few pics throughout my trip. I also test rode a White Suzuki Gixxer ( Naked Version ).

    Even though I don't own a Suzuki Gixxer yet, I will definitely buy one ( Metallic Blue / Pearl White ) ( Rear Disc ) in the near future, cauz we have 3 Suzuki bikes at home,

    IND-Suzuki AX100 ( 1984 ) ( JAPAN )

    TVS-Suzuki MAX100R ( 2002 )

    TVS-Suzuki Fiero ( 2000 )

          I don't get it...why suzuki is selling an off road helmet for a bike which is supposedly a naked racer?? Admittedly, Suzuki promotes racing on tracks. The sun flap on the helmet wont let you go beyond 60kmph. You cannot go off road with Gixxer due to low ground clearance. I just don't get it!

            That is because Suzuki knows that people need the bling more than the safety. Everyone who buys one of those will buy because it looks cool, nobody gives a damn about its purpose or use. I have seen people riding bullet with helmets the shape of an English hat (don't really know what those types helmets are called), and when asked about why they didn't get a proper helmet they say - This type of helmet only suits a bike like bullet. They are least bothered about safety.
            I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

              +1. Infact thats exactly the reason why I have bought it and it suits me for my own selfish reasons ( i'm a suzuki loyalist ) I'm going to buy the black color also for Rs. 2150/-. And I'm not going to use them both.

              Suzuki Apparel I am going to buy in the near future :- ( For Collection Only, Not for Usage ).

              Suzuki Gixxer Riding Jacket ( Size M ) -> Rs. 6500/-

              Suzuki T-Shirt ( Blue and Black Color ) -> Rs. 1191/- ( Each )

              Suzuki Cap -> Rs. 349/-

              Of course, practically speaking, this is absurd, to my knowledge, if the budget is Rs. 2000/- or below, Vega and Studds helmets are good choice( Gixxer SF helmets are made by Studds )...I have a Vega Off-Road Helmet ( Metallic Blue ) and a Vega Boolean Flip-Up Helmet ( Gloss Black ).

                        Hello.
                        My seat was fine as well. But pillion people were complaining of sore bottoms [emoji23]
                        So I took to a motorcycle seat manufacturing place in Bangalore, where they stripped my seat apart completely and added foaming, about an inch thick.
                        Keep in mind not the thin u-foam, but heavy duty packing foam. Seat is very comfortable now, even though pillions occasionally complain. Test it out while they adjust foam. They can adjust the thickness.

                              Nice dude.. We will try ..

                              But I think the fault may be the placement of the pillion foot rest.

                              It supposed to take the load but it never does its job.

                              I didn't get any support to my foot while breaking that's why it leads to uncomfortable and sliding issues..

                              Did any one try changing the foot rest position???

                                Doubt it's the footrest position, although you could have a point.
                                As long as you feel enough pressure on the pegs, it enough.
                                I just feel the seat tapers exactly along with the body, so there is not enough surface area. Maybe they could have provided some more footprint for the pillion seat.
                                Either way, what I suggested should alleviate most issues. Take a pillion with you when getting it done![emoji111]
