Yea. I own an Duke 390. Which does 170 at half the engine speed (electronically locked speed) I said it earlier in this thread. I replied that I need cruising speed of 100 to an comment saying "you need a faster group" Cz of that. But as usual everyone noted that 100-120 and started saying that am ripping my bike.Originally posted by bobisbacktorock View PostI am sure u don't ride a 150cc. If u do, then its ripping surely.
In 150cc's and below bikes I throttle fully and give it 1.5cm loose for cruising or an speed where engine doesn't cry for mercy. Usually 80.Last edited by Shyam Cmr; 04-26-2016, 05:42 PM.

LOL ... 150cc thread after all :P
Which part of India do we get roads capable of doing 100+ all day ? ... like 12 - 15 hrs of 100+ kmph (except some parts of Golden Quadrilateral and North South corridor like Hyd - Bang) ... Sounds awesome actually

From chennai to outskirts upto Singaperumalkoil not possible. Even in highways. Then for next 150km empty highways with staggered cars. Could cruise at 120 till ulunderpet. First 250km took 2.5hours. Next 150km took 3.1 hours.
Found an open stretch of road where I did top. speed check.
If you want really awesome road in TN it's from Melmaruvathur to Trichy.
And new 6lane chennai bye pass which is under construction from vandalur to Minjur (my hometown) but now it's not flat in some areas Cz traffic is now open which damaged. Some parts.
Sholavaram airstrip is now fenced for military training purposes which is birth place for Indian Motorsport. we locals found some loopholes to enter. Not sure how it is now.
Govt should create such free to use areas to encourage Motorsport. We Indians couldn't pay for an race track to learn some skills & it's now reserved to elite class.Last edited by Shyam Cmr; 04-26-2016, 06:19 PM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hello Gixxer Owners,
I got my Gixxer last week. It is really a pleasure to drive this machine. However, I'm confused on how I should ride during the engine break in period.
This is how I currently run it.- 0 - 15 (1st gear)
- 15 - 30 (2nd gear)
- 30 - 45 (3rd gear)
I shift up only if I reach around 4.5k rpm. I never crossed this range. But sometimes engine feels stressed around 3.5 - 4.5k rpm.
Am I doing right? Also is there any specific way to ride in heavy traffic conditions in break in period?
Any help from you guys is greatly appreciated.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
The Rev limit is 4.5k, so as long as you don't cross it often, it's fine.. However, it's advisable to cross it occasionally so that engine is acquainted with varying rpms... And coming to riding in traffic, don't accelerate or break hard till your run in is over... Gradually accelerate in traffic and while braking, don't jam the brakes fully unless it's an emergency.Originally posted by ArunKumar89 View PostHello Gixxer Owners,

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Thanks for the reply. Can you throw some light on the way I shift gears? Actually I'm getting not so good mileage with this shifting pattern. But I'm not used to shifting very early, like 4th gear in 30kmph.Originally posted by mlayzee View PostThe Rev limit is 4.5k, so as long as you don't cross it often, it's fine.. Is my gear shift pattern advisable during the break in period (and also after that)?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I read somewhere it is not advisable to drive below 50kmph in 5 gear(not sure). I think your shift pattern is a bit stretched, you can try shifting a little earlier.Originally posted by ArunKumar89 View PostThanks for the reply. Can you throw some light on the way I shift gears? Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
You can accelerate the bike gently during run in to pretty good rpms. The only thing is the engine shouldn't get too hot. Early shift is ok but don't lug the engine. It's better if you could maintain the engine within 2-4.5k rpm with occasional higher rpm bursts. Brake gentle to allow brakes to settle for long run.Originally posted by ArunKumar89 View PostThanks for the reply. Can you throw some light on the way I shift gears? Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Hi everybuddy..
My gixxer has completed 6K kms & I have been loving each ride since the past year. Last night while returning from work I accidentally hit a large & steep pothole at around 40 kmph. There was a loud thud (like the mudguard has hit the chassis), and fortunately I didn't lose composure. I'm worried if this incident could have done any damage to the suspension, steering geometry, alloy etc. Visual inspection did not yield any superficial damage, but I'm a bit skeptical before taking it to the service station.
Any doubts on potential damage, dear members?Last edited by eddyjamerson; 04-27-2016, 11:38 AM.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Don't worry mate. Nothing will happen at that speed. I did hit one nasty pothole at 60 kmph .....the bike's balance is amazing i would say and it is damn sturdy too.Originally posted by eddyjamerson View PostHi everybuddy..

Happened to me a couple of times, but it's better to check with a local mechanic.Originally posted by eddyjamerson View PostHi everybuddy..
