Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
I wouldnt recommend you do any mods that affect the performance of the bike. Dont mess around with the handlebars either. Just do cosmetic jobs like changing the headlights or painting the rims and stuff like that.Originally posted by sazzy View PostOk thank you very much. [emoji3][emoji3]

Hey Man hope you're alright. I'm from Hyderabad too. For your concerns once contact Suzuki service engineer looking over all the service centers in this region.. He's the point of contact in Hyderabad in case complain to Suzuki head office Mumbai. 8885544554 . Give this guy a try, Be safe. Happy riding.Originally posted by xodus99 View PostHey guys.. I picked up a standard Black Gixxer in March this year from Gem Suzuki in Kondapur, Hyderabad. I have really enjoyed riding it. It has satisfied my street fighter enthusiasm with its pickup, decent gear ratios and superb handling. The brakes lack bite and that's probably the only downside.
I met with an unfortunate accident - A skid after I lost control of the bike going over a massive pothole. I was at 95 kmph.
1. There was a slight bend in the front tyre rim,
2. The handle bar had bent towards me on the left
3. The footrest on the left broke.
4. The left side crash guard bent and needed fixing.
The service center (Gem Suzuki, same people) recommended claiming insurance, but I didn't even get my number plate by then due to lack of time off from work. So, I couldn't claim insurance.
Anyway, they said the front tyre needs to be replaced + handle bar needs to be replaced. They set expectations of charges being around Rs. 6200 since I wasn't going to claim insurance anyway.
After the repairs, I got my bike back, they replaced the front tyre, but completely seem to have ignored the handle bar and haven't really done anything to fix it even after repeated mentions. They broke the left RVM and said it broke because I had a fall - I got that replaced after telling them that apart from those 4 things, nothing else happened after the fall.
My mistake was that I overlooked the handler bar replacement and only realised it when I took a good look at it in daylight. I wanted to go back to the service center, but it seems that arguing with these guys is only going to make matters worse for me and the motorcycle. I will still go there and try to get this resolved politely.
Anyway, the point of this post is that if you are in Hyderabad and are planning to pick up a Suzuki two-wheeler, stay away from Gem Motors in Kondapur. I have had many issues with these guys starting from getting an original form 22 for registering my bike to their pathetic service on the bike. I had read reviews about these guys and I decided to give it a shot, but the reviewers were right about staying away from Gem Suzuki for peace of mind haha.
Back to the motorcycle: The Gixxer has been a fantastic ride so far. I use it for my short commute to office and back home and I'm waiting to get this handlebar fixed before I start touring. Will keep you guys posted on everything else.
Cheers and happy riding!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Please help me with some of your valuable suggestions xbhpians.Originally posted by basu07 View PostHello fellow riders. I'm thinking of replacing the stock Turn signal Indicators of my Suzuki Gixxer to LED units. Can I just buy the ones from Duke 200 or Pulsar RS200 and plug it directly? Or will I have to make some extra mods. Please advise accordingly. Thank you.

Please help me with some advice regarding upgradation of battery for my gixxer. The stock battery which has a wattage of 4ah is not enough for running with a 55/60 halogen bulb. Hence I'm thinking of installing a Amaron battery with 7ah. Can i just plug it? Or will some extra mods has to be done? Of course I'm going to change my blinkers, pilot lamp and number plate illuminator into LEDs so as to decrease the load on the battery. Please suggest and advice in likewise manner. Thank you and Ride safe.

2. size of the battery : take your motorcycle to a nearest battery-show-room and ask them if 7Ah can be fixed
3. replacing existing indicators/bulbs may interfere with timing circuits for blinking.
4. 55/60 W Halogen bulb might damage the reflector
5. Need to check if the alternator/rectifier generates enough charging current to support 55/60W headlight effectively~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
[QUOTE=Freak inExile;1247203]Thanks for the reply. Now, one thing I know of is that my cousin has been using 55/60 Phoenix halogen on his fzs v2.0 for over a year and the reflector is doing absolutely fine. The only problem is the dip in battery power as its only of 3Ah.Originally posted by basu07 View Post1. Apparently, you're the first to do battery upgrade

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
[QUOTE=basu07;1247223]Unfortunately , that isn't the only problem , i.e the battery . You can take out only that much power from a battery that you put in , usually less because batteries are lossy . So if you are taking more power out the battery than putting in , it shall get depleted - no matter it's a 3ah or 30ah battery . It depends on the power put out by the bike's alternator on the battery charging circuit , and much less on the battery itself ( which is usually adequate because the manufacturer has sized it according to their alternator ) .Originally posted by Freak inExile View Post.. Problems will arise because if the stock battery isn't charging up fully because of higher draw , it's life shall get curtailed very much . Then if replaced with even larger capacity battery , which is going to remain even more depleted - it shall die very quickly .Last edited by Pinaki; 08-12-2016, 03:47 AM.
