I have been using Motul 10W40 since 5K kms, pretty satisfied wit perfomance but I am thinking about downgrading to Shell AX7 semi synthetic as I don't feel the justification for the price. Should I downgrade? Are there any problem from switching to Fully Synth to Semi Synth? Any suggestions?

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
AFAIK, the records are maintained in a central server and any SVC/Suzuki official can pull up your bike's service history for warranty claim purpose, I might be wrong. Just don't abuse the bike and do all the regular service like periodically replacing oil/filters (oil and air)/spark plug, fork oil, adjusting and lubing the chain, etc - There won't be any need for a warranty claim - It's a SuzukiOriginally posted by SOMESH SHINDE View PostCan I tell them that I have lost my service book ?
Will it help me for claiming warranty although I do not have any problems till now.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
The gixxer sf track bike. Mods made 1)free flow stainless steel exhaust, 2)race clipon handlebars 3)raised footpegs 4)excess weight removed like seat cowel, headlight, side and centre stand, passenger pegs, etc 5)race k&n air filter 6)mrf race tyres. Also a gixxer group B bike is in the works with upside down forks from m slaze 150(naked r15), ohlin suspension, raceboy wheels, , new track tyres, new exhaust, bored upto 165cc , bigger carboreutor, full engine tuning, new air box, different tank, aluminum swingarm, would produce about 26-30hp.

No bro race track gixxer sf produces around 17-18bhp that's all not much 26-30bhp beside that gixxer sf is air-cooled 155cc bike😃Originally posted by Deathwing View PostThe gixxer sf track bike. Check the oil level every 500kms. The oil can last easily upto 3.5k-4k kms.Originally posted by tariq2kn View PostI want to try Motul 300V 10w40. Could someone tell me how the clean the internals after draining the old engine oil?The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Guys I have one doubt, if we are not changing the oil in every Service whether warranty will get void??
Because recently I replaced stator coil because of oil leakage under warranty, they asked my all service bills and checked for oil change records and they changed under warranty. I asked them they told if we are not changing oil every service or changing other after market oils like shell or motul will void warranty .

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
The problem with Gixxer is that the front disk is thin. Even a small stone hit can cause a slight bend in it. Just put it on center stand and rotate the front wheel. If it doesn't roll freely at a particular point then u have a disk bend.Originally posted by Preet Bal View PostHow to check a bend in a front disc.my bike is front wheel not moving freely. What could be reason?
I had to change the disk due to this issue. And also it's not covered under warranty....but still you can try talking to them about it.
Disk replacement will cost 1.7k almost.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Dude! I have the exact same problem. Gixxer was my first bike. Before my first service, i always felt like the engine never felt smooth and that it was running without any lubrication inside. People told me it will be fine after the first service. I even read about Motul oil and asked the service guys to use that. Even after the first service I felt the problem. Then I read about 'cold start'. So now I always keep the engine running idle for about 30 seconds to a minute before I use my bike. That actually makes a difference but any sudden acceleration, and you feel like the engine is dry inside. With 'cold start', I always had this feeling like the bike is not having the acceleration I am expecting it to give. I even told my friends who are good with the bikes, the exact same thing you said: " someone is dragging your bike from the rear end". I hope someone can help us out with this.Originally posted by debargha.kit2 View PostGuys I own a gixxer sf
Need suggestion from the tourers
Been involved in some sort of trips activity
The bike is performing is well enough for 70-90 kmph cruising speed throughout the highways.
Recently did a 160 km ride
(i know its a puny number not worthy of being trip but none the less someone has to start somewhere right?)
While returning i discovered somesort of rattling noise is coming from the engine
I stood by the svc while returning and they told the timing chain and the adjuster is on their last threads
But the mechanic adjacent to my house told me nothing is wrong with the engine and the sound is coming from the exhaust
Im in a dilemma what to do?
I'll try to simplify the problems
1.ratting noise after driving some 50-60 km
2.after cold start it seems someone is dragging your bike from the rear end
It goes away after 2-3 km
Can anyone help me with the problems?
Others are telling me its nothing major and it can be rectified on the next service but i am too much skeptical about my bike
And yes my bike is over a year old and i have done all the services and runned in my bike according to the norms
Now running on the idemitsu ss oil and its just 500km old
It would be helpful if someone guides me
And moreover i have a 400 km trip next month
Would someone please tell me how much time can i cruise at a time at 70-80 without killing the bike before i take a break?or what should be ample time to take a break ?
I know its a silly question but I'm new to this genre and couldn't find anywhere else other than xbhp to ask the questions

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
All motorcycles have a disc that specifies a minimum thickness of 3.5 mm. But that is minimum when the disc is fully worn - its thicker when it comes from the factory. Its not thin compared to the competition. Looks so, may be.Originally posted by kannanmr16 View PostThe problem with Gixxer is that the front disk is thin. Drive slowly over rough patches of road - no one should drive such that stones are hurled at the discs! Of course, we can't control damage due to accident (someone hitting the disc with their bike).
