Here are a few pictures. I got the motofusion tail tidy kit installed. Got the saree guard and pillion grab handle removed. Have kept the tyre hugger until it stops raining here in bangalore.

Though registration is done i am supposed to get the number allocated today. Can you guys help me with these queries
    - is it legal to put a sticker on the windscreen instead of the front number plate. The plate seems a little out of place in my opinion.
    - is it ok to have a non HSRP, but with legal fonts and colors number plate?

Number plate as sticker....well no way it can be legal.I mean one likes it or not they have to put the number plate there.sticker is not possible.its roo easy to peel off and non legal.

Ya it should be okay but I would say go for IND plates.i heard in Bangalore they have started to ask questions who has got a different number plate.

        hi brother,

Awesome pics. Congratulations again. The bike looks really nice.

        1) I don't think, it will be legal to replace the number plate with any sticker. You have to install number plate there.
        2) I would like to keep that number plate as simple and legal as possible. Though, I would love to have those stylish plates, but, its absoleutly unbearable, and irritating, if the cops keep stopping me and checking out my bike every now and then and wasting my time and spoiling my mood.

        Cheers......

Thanks for the lovely words portedynammie (Sorry dont know your name ) Yes it is a good upgrade for me. I will surely post pics of both the beauties as soon as I get the new one. I also cant stop loving Yamaha. I have a 91 model RX100 and still the engine is untouched (except piston ring work)

          Cheers!

I don't intend to have a stylish plate either. It needs to be plain and simple but the font is something I am specific about. Let's see what I finally come up with.

And I forgot to mention that for my height and build (6'2" and 87kgs) the RVMs are almost completely useless. Have some alternative plans about it. Will be posting once I have some positive final results.

              Congrats first and foremost

              1. In Chennai atleast, police wala is on the look out for defective/no number plate bikes. So, Trying to put a sticker on the windshield, cops may or may not catch you. But if you leave the number plate as-is, you are out of trouble.

              2. Fancy number plate a definite NO-NO. You are inviting trouble. I would recommend you to stay away from IND plates too. I have seen cops ripping off the hologram in the number plate for putting it. Not sure if the IND plate is legal. Better go with standard font plates.

The Mirrors are fully adjustable. You may be scared to put too much pressure on them but trust me, the mirrors are fully adjustable. Hold them like a cup and adjust them by applying pressure slowly. The RC390 has better mirrors than most bikes in India including superbikes.

Coming to the number plate, I removed my front plate and got a sticker installed on the windscreen with the default font. I haven't been stopped by Cops till date for this. I'm not saying it's Legal but then I can't confirm that it's illegal either. If they ever object all I have to do is put back the number plate which is barely a 5 minute job.

As per rules, you should not do this mod (illegal sounds too harsh ). But cops doesn't seem to mind it now. I have seen cops standing close to my bike or stopping other bike and letting me go. So far I haven't been asked about it.

                  - is it ok to have a non HSRP, but with legal fonts and colors number plate?

You could do that, just don't put the hologram sticker.

BTW, can you share the link or place from where you got the tail tidy.

The picture doesn't seem to be in the right position, sorry about that..

                    hi brother,

My real name is Tarun Aggarwal. And its so heart-warming to see another brother loving and maintaining the legendary Yamaha RX-100 even today.
RX-100 is arguably the most loved bike in this country, and will always be remembered as the biggest legend along with RD-350. Your love and passion for your RX-100 is surely amazing and appreciable. I have a 2001 Yamaha RX-135 5 speed, and I can understand, how difficult it is to maintain a a bike, which
has been discontinued long time ago and spares are not that easy to find. Even more difficult is to find an expert mechanic on 2-strokes, who is as
passionate as us. So, WELL DONE brother.

Do post a lot of pics of both KTM and RX-100. How about a nice comparison between the two ?

                    Cheers......

I too felt the front number plate messes with the look..So I got it off and got a sticker on the windshield. I havent had any problem with cops in 8 months. Just keep the font size and style readable enough for the cops.

Yes I agree that the mirror are adjustable. But I have quite broad shoulders. And no matter how I adjust the mirrors don't really do their job. I am planning to source a pair of CRG Arrow bar end mirrors as an alternative. Let's see how it goes.

You can just head to motofusion website. They sell the tail tidy kits in black and orange for around 2500 bucks.

Thanks bro. Yes I mostly am going to do the same. Hopefully I don't get stopped by the cops as well. I tried my best to find any RTO guidelines. But thus far I haven't found anything.
